sometimes good and sometimes hard. >> today the pepperdine community dedicated an olive tree and her parents setup a voice foundation aimed at preventing others from being victims of gun violence. a victim's parents plan to file a wrongful death lawsuit against airbnb tomorrow. the family is also suing the owner of the rented home where violence erupted during a party last thursday. earlier today hill's family accused of airbnb of failing to keep a promise to help the victims families pay for funerals. airbnb responded saying it set aside a fund to help families pay for funerals and counseling. police have not made any arrests. a police officer's suspicions about a truck parked outside a store led to the arrests of two people in

mountain view. they face acswracusations of stealing equipment from local law enforcement agencies. detectives shared these pictures. a patrol officer confroned them on november 1st. officers then searched a u-haul truck. they discovered police gear and stolen license plates. the san mateo county sheriff's office says there have been 30 break in since monday. another 13 cars were burglarized between last night and this morning. the sheriff office is urging residents to take valuables out of their cars and to call 911 if you see anything suspicious. now to the local election. it's still too close to call in a pair of races shaping san francisco's future. in the district attorney's race interim da suzy loftus has

50.33% of the vote. so close, just 879 votes separate the two. ranked choice voting will also determine the winner to represent district 5 on san francisco's board of supervisors. dean preston leads incumbent valley brown. ballot counting will likely continue through the middle of the week. you can look up all the local election results on our website. just go to abc7news.com. in the east bay oakland is ramping up safety improvements after a deadly hit-and-run. kate larson was at the scene of a crash where a local business dedicated a space to the victims. ♪ how do i say good-bye >> reporter: a community in oakland is still grieving for one of their families ripped apart by a hit-and-run driver seven months ago. 6-year-old angel vasquez and his

mother and his uncle were all hit while they crossed foothill boulevard at 26th avenue around 7:00 at night on april 13th. paramedics tried to resuscitate the family but angel and alma died. they were leading the when they were hit. she dedicated a reading room to the family. she says the family has been trying to support the family's father and two surviving children. right after the crash oakland's department of transportation installed these plastic posts and painted a pedestrian island in the middle of the intersection. as a dedication they're making more improvements to this area. >> we determined there'll be a new traffic signal constructed and then here at foothill and 26th avenue we'll be installing flashing yellow lights.
