here's mike. tracking fog along the coast. like yesterday it will slip across the golden gate. you can see it moving across the golden gate and spreading throughout the east bay shoreline. here's a look at some of that fog drying to move over towards emeryville, in berkeley and oakland. so that's something we'll keep an eye on for the morning commute. temperatures are mild out there. mid-40s to 50 around 7:00. we won't be as warm as we have been. a slight onshore breeze. 57 to 60 noon to 4:00 at the coast. 65 to 67, that's it around the bay. still 70s inland. by the time we get to 7:00, we're all back in the 50s. grab that coat. we'll talk about some really warm weather this weekend coming up. in a couple hours the remains of a korean war veteran will arrive at sfo. he will be greeted by his 92-year-old sister who lives in

the bay area. army sergeant first class phillip mendoza was killed during the battle on december 2, 1950. his remains were accounted for in august after president trump's summit with north korean leader kim jong-un. mendoza's remains were identified by sintists s mendoza's remains were identified by sintistscientists more than 55 boxes turned over by north korea. he will be buried on friday in dixon in solano county. welcome to life in the slow lane. a group in san francisco is pushing the city to lower all speed limbs limits to 20 miles hour. >> they say this is an effort to save lives. lauren martinez has the details on this. lauren? >> safety advocates want to make 20 miles per hour the default speed throughout this city. a move that will obviously impact every driver here. now, last night at city hall the

pedestrian safy advisory committee approved a resolution to set the maximum speed limits at 20 miles per hour city-wide. this is all to prevent accidents from happening. an sfpd traffic inspector said there were 26 traffic fatalities so far this year, higher than last year. 16 of those deaths have been pedestrians. marta lynsie showed up at the meeting last night. >> if you're hit by a vehicle going 20 miles per hour, you have a 90% chance of living. if a vehicle is going 40 miles per hour, you have a 20% chance of survival. >> speed is regulated by a state law that bases speed limbs on how fast 85% of drivers are going in a specific area. the resolution will now go to the board of supervisors who may consider it and the resolution

>> reporter: dozens of people in costumes arriving halloween night paying to attend a party, never mind the sign outside that said no loud talking, music or noise after 8:00 p.m. the homeowner says he had no idea the party would be taking place. >> they were brand-new guests on the platform, they were coming for one night and that's all we know. >> reporter: chris young said the booking guests reached out to him the next day to report some small damage, saying she fell and her heel went through the wall. we get down here. there's a hole about that big in the wall. >> here's a picture of that hole. >> and the house smelled like marijuana, and we're like orb okay, there's a bit more to this than what's being represented. >> reporter: so he checked the home's ring security cameras. >> the more i watched it, the more it became evident this was a full-on house party. >> reporter: complete with a hot pink stripper pole guests installed. >> scratches in the ceiling, you have a handprint over here. >> reporter: but the most disturbing thing young says he discovered, party goers talking

about the orinda airbnb hall a we halloween party and fatal shooting that happened the same night. patting down guests and explaining why. >> the folks here were aware about what went on down there. >> reporter: in an e-mailed statement airbnb tells the i-team, quote, unauthorized parties have no place on airbnb, and we have removed the booking guests from our community and are quickly working to support the host through our 1 million host guarantee. and airbnb claims they already settled another claim with young. two weeks prior young says different guests stole the washer and dryer, television, even the coffee maker, toaster and microwave. young wishes guests were uer the same microscope as hosts, still he calls both isolated incidents. >> they're doing the best they can right now.

profrnlg >> projectiles have hit cars in prunedale. majority of them have been on 101 on san juan road between highway 56. six more cars were hit last week. one driver had cuts. mostly attacks happened on mondays, thursdays and fridays between 7:00 and 11:00 at night. >> it's on the left-hand lane. the fast lane. all of a sudden my window exploded. >> the chp has not gotten specific with the type of projectiles but they do not appear to have come from a gun. a warning to costco members, don't be fooled. costco says a $75 coupon people are sharing on social media is a hoax. the company is not giving away $75 coupons. cstco posted a message on its facebook page urging people to stop sharing this. costco says we love our fans and members, this offer is a scam.

bay area. a live shot from weealnut creek 680 is flowing this morning. i want to let you know about something that will be impacting traffic in san francisco. the closure started yesterday. howard street between 3rd and 4th street, this is because of the dreamforce convention. that closure started yesterday at 6:00 a.m., it will run through november 24th at 8:00 p.m. please just try to walk bike, scooter, do not drive in the area. >> thank you. new details this morning on a disturbing assault in san francisco's chinatown. >> mayor london breed says police will increase foot patrols. the attack at portsmouth square was caught on video. one suspect got out of a black suv and ripped a cell phone out of a victim's hand. when the victim's friends tried to help, they were attacked. all of the victims are in their 60s. in addition to more foot

patrols, the city is considering a number of other safety improvements for the neighborhood. >> it's been heartbreaking to see what's happening. the targeted violence on our elderly community. >> investigators think the suspects responsible for other attacks in chinatown. the police chief says there are some leads in the case. the bobo guy shop in san francisco has been hit again. this is the third time burglars struck this year. the business posted a message on the door apologizing to customers for the inconvenience. san francisco is taking a big step to tackle the mental health crisis. the mayor joined supervisors for a groundbreaking effort. they will provide universal mental health treatment in the city regardless of their ability to pay. >> what happens when someone is a schizophrenic?

it happened just before 3:00 this morning on san thomas aquino road. fire officials say it appears the fire started when someone turned on their car. no one was hurt. from the live desk this morning, we are looking live at capitol hill right now where the public phase of the impeachment hearings will kick off in just over an hour and a half from now. two witnesses will testify, the gop has laid out its defense strategy. abc news reporter elizabeth hur is live on capitol hill with more on this. >> good morning. the countdown is on. democrats say they're ready. even though the president may be downplaying the hearings, the white house is not taking any chances. >> reporter: the battle lines are drawn and the stage set. millions of americans finally getting to see and hear what has been going on behind closed doors, the first two witnesses, bill taylor, the top u.s. diplomat in ukraine and george

kent, a top state department official. taylor testified about a concerted evident to use military aid to ukraine as leverage for political gain. kent who also testified behind closed doors, accused president tru trump's personal attorney, rudy giuliani, of running a campaign of slander and lies. this as house intelligence committee chair adam schiff reveals among the impeachable offenses under consideration including bribery. >> the standard we'll have to evaluate is whether the facts show bribery, treason, high crimes or misdemeanors. >> democrats in washington would rather pursue outrageous hoaxes and delusional witch hunts which are going nowhere. >> reporter: president trump always maintained he did nothing wrong. but republicans are ready to fight back holding mock hearings, attacking the two witnesses' credibility, casting them as unelected and anonymous

orinda with more. >> reporter: if you have an opinion on how pg&e handled those public power shutoffs this meeting is for you. i will tell you how you can get your comments into that meeting if you have opinions you want to share and if you can't physically be there. the cpuc will vote on whether to investigate pg&e and how it handled the power outages. was public safety a priority? were regulations followed? these are questions the cpuc would investigate. pg&e turned the power off to more than 1 million californians to try to present lines from sparking fires. a watchdog group questions the effectiveness of the outages and the harm they caused. >> i don't think you could find customers that experienced less reliability than pg&e's customers. we don't have safe service. we don't have reliable service. we had a fire along with shutoffs, which is the worst of

shows the man who killed reason, virgil thomas, is standing over his body and it appears like the sergeant was either taking video or pictures. >> he shouldn't have been anywhere near mr. reason. vallejo police department was on scene. he should have been whisked away. they shouldn't have been allow him to be near. he is disrupting a crime scene. >> vallejo's first black police chief will oversee this investigation. chief williams was sworn in yesterday. he didn't comment on the shooting saying he has not yet been fully briefed. in the east bay, a 22-year-old man has been arrested for attacking two people with a bow and arrow. police released the photo of this suspect. addae preciado was charged. this happened near central avenue. police say that preciado knew the victims. thousands of workers are set to strike today.

the union representing 25,000 uc workers says the one-day strike is in response to efforts to outsource jobs. those position include service and patient care technical workers. uc says union leaders are spreading false information about job outsourcing. strikes are scheduled for all ten uc campuses and five medical campuses. high school tekoochool teac staff in west sonoma county will also be striking today. the the district serves around 1,800 students. the main sticking point in negotiations is pay. coming up, a possible solution for tech workers who struggle to afford living in the bay area. the incentive one company is offering to leave. and facebook is trying to up the competition with apple pay and paypal. the new service it's rolling out this week. right now a live look outside as there is no rain in sight, right? >> that is correct. the best we can hope for is

white and the grayer clouds are the upper level clouds. you can watch the lower clouds retreat back to the san rafael, napa, down both sides of the bayshore, mid to upper 60s. we'll squeeze out some low 70s in the south bay, east bay valleys. tonight, mild once again. mid 40s to mid 50s and all that cloud cover. you see that green, that's the chance of drizzle. in the east bay hills a chance, too. that chance of drizzle locks in the coolest day tomorrow. 50s and 60s. but that's also average. on sunday, 70 near the coast, 80 inland. that will be near some records.

this is a look at venice, italy. they are under a state of emergency now. the city is dealing with the worst flooding in more than 50 years. an elderly man was killed while trying to run electricalpumps at his home. the government says an exceptionally high hide struck the city on tuesday night. nearly half the city flooded because of that tide. in a tweet venice's mayor blamed climate change for the unusually high tide. we always look at venice as a city first go when sea levels rise due to climate change. here's one of those examples. back to our neighborhood. here's the high pressure. it's getting squeezed and moving away. that's allowing this low, those high clouds, that sea breeze to come in and bring us slightly cooler weather and that chance of drizzle tonight. yesterday we had hope of an inside slider a week from today from the u.s. model, but notice as you head through time,
