are demanding entry into your yr residence. >> in connection with a halloween party that killed five people exactly two weeks ago in arenda. >> this is one of several coordinated arrests. all linked to the arenda house party shooting. good evening, i'm christen z. >> thanks for joining us. laura anthony broke the story online. she is live now with the latest. laura. >> reporter: hi, dan. just in the last hour, the contra costa sheriff has released a lot of new information. as it turns out the raid at this apartment complex we're showing is just one of four. i can tell you the five individuals who were arrested and where they're from, jar kwez sweeney, 20 years old. jason isles also 20 from marin city. in san mateo, 28-year-old lebron

wallace. and devin williamson, 21 years old in vallejo. williamsson is being charged as accessory. the other four face murder and conspiracy charges. >> this is the contra costa county sheriff's office s.w.a.t team. >> reporter: this is what residents of an apartment complex woke up to this morning just after 7:00 a.m. when heavily armed police many in tactical gear served a warrant on their neighbors. >> and now they're going in. >> it looked like something you see in a movie. it was police everywhere. >> and how they came here this morning, the level of humiliation and degradation that commenced, there is nothing that could justify that. >> reporter: contra costa sheriffs confirmed the arrest in the halloween party murders in a series of cord naughted rai in oth suspects are held without bail on murder and conspiracy charges, one as an accessory. five people were killed as the event erupted in gunfire just

before 11:00 p.m. three others were hurt. abc 7 has learned the violence may have stemmed from a dispute involving rival gangs including from san francisco. the sheriff's department won't say yet whether those arrested in marin city are believed to be among the shooters at the party. the raid was conducted by contra costa county but the fbi and other bay area agencies have assisted in the investigation. arenda mayor inga miller expressed relief at the progress in the case that has shaken their community. >> people feel fear. they feel many emotions. they feel sadness for the victims. they feel fear for the potential of a shooting anywhere. >> reporter: one other bit of information from the sheriff is that two of those who died at the party were themselves armed. the sheriff says that may have played a role in the tragedy. in marin county, laura anthony,

abc 7 news. >> all right, laura, thank you. >> the families of three of the victims will be filing a lawsuit against airbnb and the property owner next week. >> attorney john burris is representing the families. >> five people are dead but three that we represent that frankly the environment that was put in place was put in place that allowed for this to occur was by airbnb and the owner of the facility. >> burris says the families are pleased with news of arrest. another victim filed a wrongful death lawsuit against airbnb, the city of arenda, the homeowners, and party organizers. to today's school shooting at sagas high school. a 16-year-old student opened fire killing two classmates aging 14 and 16 and injuring three others. >> within two minutes at 7:40 our first units arrived on scene and encountered in the quad area of the school multiple victims.

>> detectives have reviewed the video at the scene which clearly show the subject in the quad withdraw a hand gun from his backpack, shoot and pound five people, and then shoot himself in the head. >> at this point we have no indication of any motivation or ideology. >> authorities say the shooter turned 16 today and when shots rang out, some students barricaded themselves in classrooms. others just ran. >> two or three gunshots and everyone started running out. >> we heard the gunshots and we were like let's go, let's run. >> i turned my head and saw there was a house open letting kids in. that was my first instinct was get into the house where it was locked and secure. >> we crawled underneath the pipe. we heard the one shot and then four after and we just started running and then all i heard was all these kids running and just screaming and calling their parents. >> it's just scary because you come here every day and don't

expect anything like this to happen. >> by one count there have been at least 30 school shootings this year. >> navigating the stress and the anxiety from the shootings, just daily life is obviously very difficult for teenagers. >> abc 7 chris wynn looks at how students in san jose are doing something about it. >> reporter: these days being a high schooler simply isn't easy. >> i work two jobs because i need to pay for college. so, all of these little things end up building up. >> reporter: in addition to the everyday struggles that students face, the threat of a possible shooting at school also weighs on the minds of some. >> every time i get into the classroom the first thing i look is where my seat is to the closest door. if something like that were to happen i have an exit plan and i don't think a high school student should be thinking of how they're going to save themselves. >> reporter: according to a

rece recent pew research survey teenagers see anxiety and depression. that's why they came up with a proposal to open the district's first student wellness cent on their campus to provide students with mental health support using money from a state grant. the center opened in august and served more than 450 students so far. >> that's why the center is in place, to help students through issues that can cause these dangerous and volatile thoughts. >> the space was once part of the attendance office but has been transformed into a quiet and calming refuge during the school day providing students a chance to learn and practice coping strategies. staff members are available to connect to resources including a mental health professional if they need additional help sending a message that it's okay not to be okay. >> if you start realizing that other people are going through the same thing and that feeling of being alone kind of goes away a little bit and that helps make

in the way of the oakland a's buying their old coliseum home has officially been cleared. today the city of oakland dropped its lawsuit that could have oblocked the acquisition. insiders say that lawsuit clouded the a's plans to redevelop the coliseum site and that the team needs that development and the redevelopment project to make a new ball park at howard terminal more viable. more on this from abc 7 news anchor eric thomas. >> this is a great sign for a's fans and for oaklanders. >> reporter: oakland mayor saying the future looks bright after the city withdrew the lawsuit that stood in the way of the a's buying the coliseum. >> we're exciting that we're putting this behind us so we can trans act with the county. >> the a's want to buy the 155 acre site and we develop it into an entertainment and sports complex while building a new stadium for the team at the

howard street terminal at the waterfront. the a's had a deal with the county to buy their half for $85 million. that's when oakland sued the county to block it forcing the team to sweeten its deal. >> i think we re-emphasized we're going to have community benefits, affordable housing, local hire, all key things we're also bringing to the howard street terminal project. >> we're encouraged the a's have offered the city the same deal they offered the county. however our interests could be a little different so that will be the process of negotiations. >> now attention to turns to what the a's want to do with the property. the team has a plan but not everybody is crazy about it. he says he and his constituents support a new stadium to keep the team in town did but -- >> they prefer to build at the existing coliseum. >> reporter: the team expects to conclude a sale before the year's end and a deal with the city next year. in oakland, eric thomas, abc 7

the state including all of the bay area. experts say part of what's driving dryness is lack of recent rain and snow. >> you might have turned your wipers on for the first time. i'll tell you the story. we had clouds that brought today's drizzle making it harder to see everywhere. we had that going on this morning. >> that was a fun ride. >> yeah. >> are you dizzy. >> nice to see the drizzle. will that continue? >> you can pretty much expect more of that drizzle to continue right now. live look from sfo camera. you can see the clouds overhead and we are noticing there have been delays, arrival delays at sfo. so, when we take a look at the live doppler 7 and looking back on the last few hours, we did see a little bit of drizzle, measurable in some parts of the bay area, and there were a few isolated showers. so, some areas were damp and people had to use their wipers as kristen just mentioned.

the ground was wet. i want to show you those temperatures as a result of all that cloud cover. numbers are eld had down. only 56 degrees in san francisco. if you're stepping out, grab a jacket or sweater. here's a live look as we look at a cloudy view from san francisco, another perspective from our kgo roof camera. notice there isn't much in the wa of wind. it's light right now. cloudy with spotty drizzle through tomorrow morning. we're looking at a warming trend of the up coming weekend. beach hazard continues for the coastline until 4:00 p.m. tomorrow. west facing beaches have inclosed risk. watch out if you're anywhere near the coast tonight or tomorrow. you'll notice the heavy cloud cover. we go into tomorrow morning and there will be more spotty drizzle indicated in green. i don't think it's going to be just over the coast. just be prepared for slippery
