sear of a suspect who m have been barricaded inside. th lastig at tyherst court at trade winds drive. as of 2:30 this morning the standoff was still going on. oak grove is the same school that just reopened after a suspicious device was found on campus tuesday. that incident forced students to shelter in place while the bomb squad examined the object. school officials then decided to cancel classes at oak grove on thursday, and no arrests have been made. a south bay dog owner is demanding petco do better. she left her dog to be groomed now she's grieving its death. she brought her 6-month-old pomeranian to the petco earlier this month to be groomed. when she came back she learned dolly was sent to an animal hospital for breathing issues. according to the vet, there was fluid in dolly's lungs. the woman questioned petco but she says they refused to give

details about what happened. >> he was very active, happy and hyper when i dropped him off. after one hour they told me she just -- he just cannot breathe, he's gone. i cannot accept that. >> my goodness. in a statement petco said in part after a thorough review of dolly's time in our grooming is a salon as well as pet records, we believe our groomer acted appropriately but regret that the veterinariian was unable to determine a definitive cause of his passing. we are learning more about the protests at ann coulter's speech. five people were arrested. three were cited and released. one person who had a ticket to the event was injured in a scuffle with the protester and was taken to the hospital. happening today, a unique holiday light display gets under way in san francisco. the conservatory of flowers is

if you're just waking up, here's the 7 things to know. number one, federal agents made arrests during raids conducted yesterday related to the shooting deaths of five people in orinda on halloween. a gun seized is linked to other shootings in the bay area and the atf is offering a $20,000 reward in the orinda shooting. number two, the man accused of murdering 18-year-old nia wilson at the macarthur b.a.r.t. station is set to be back in court for a plea hearing. he's accused of stabbing and killing wilson and hurting her sister july of last year. today state official also delay the start of the local

flip-flopping, it's showing the north bay with significantly less rain than the bay, the east bay and the south bay. that's not usually the way things pan out. i think it's underdone with the rain in the north bay. the european model, it's been more consistent. more rain in the north bay, but it also shows the bulk of the rain falling around the bay, the east bay bay. the areas in green, more than an inch of rain. much needed rain on the way, just terrible timing tuesday, wednesday and thanksgiving. nope, santa was not seeing double. >> there were 28 sets of twins visiting him at a mall in the chicago suburbs. so here are the videos. social media brought together the twins and their moms for this adorable santa photo. the parents are all part of the windy city twins facebook group. >> how do you manage a sleep schedule? how do you feed two at once? >> it brings you back. you want to give her a hug and say it will be okay.

the bay area. amy hollyfield is live in orinda this morning. >> this city is still without answers about that violent night, but the atf announced some developments. they're still aggressively working this case. first, let me show you some pictures that the atf just tweeted out. this is their crime gun enforcement team that carried out arrests. they also linked a gun used in the ornd shoinda shooting to ot shootings in the bay area. there's also a reward, $20,000 leading to arrests or convictions in the case. they had arrested five men last week but they were released when the district attorney's office said there wasn't enough evidence. the sheriff's office says they are confident in their case and says those responsible for the five deaths on halloween night in orinda will be held accountable. now they are getting a boost from the atf with this raid,

this gun connection they discovered and the reward. multiple agencies coming together to try and solve this case. reporting live in orinda, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. the man accused of stabbing and killing mia millson is set to be back in court for a plea hearing. 28-year-old john lee cowell is accused of killing wilson in july of last year. in august prosecutors said they were pushing for a conviction of life in prison without the possibility of parole. the cowell's attorney said he has mental health issues. a judge ruled cowell is competent to stand trial. the family of the man stabbed to death trying to prevent a theft on b.a.r.t. is struggling to understand why no one else jumped in to help. oliver tyrone williams tried to stop another man from stealing the shoes of a sleeping passenger on tuesday afternoon. williams was stabbed with his own knife during a struggle with jermaine brim. brim made his first court appearance yesterday.

williams family was there and his brother is heartbroken. >> he is a hero for what he did. he was -- he gave his life for somebody else. >> williams family has set up a gofundme page to help pay for his funeral. we have a link to it on abc7news.com. the abc7 news i-team learned the trial for two bay area teens accused of killing an italian police officer will be set for next year. the lawyer for finnegan elder told dan noyes, the trial has been fast tracked. the two are charged with the fating stabbing of a rome police officer in july. italian prosecutors say elder confessed to killing the officer during a scuffle that followed a drug deal. dan noyes spent days in rome covering the story. you can see his reports by going to abc7news.com/iteam.

just in at live desk, new developments in the ongoing trade war between the united states and china. china's president said this morning he's pushing for a deal but he's not afraid to "fight back to protect the country's interest." the u.s. and china have imposed taxes on billions of dollars of goods over the past year. president trump has promised to stop imposing additional tariffs on chinese goods. there's already a tariff hike on $160 billion of goods set to take effect next month. it could raise the prices of smartphones and other goods right before christmas. b.a.r.t. is set to reopen two underground bathrooms that have been closed for almost 20 years. after 9/11 federal authorities recommended closing bathrooms at several underground stations due to safety concerns. according to the chronicle new bathrooms at the 19th street and powell street stations will open

election. city college of san francisco officials announced it will cut classes for the spring semester because of a projected $13 million budget deficit. the examiner reports that city college will also reduce its summer class asked schedule by 25s%. 225 credit classes and more than 60 non-credit classes have been taken off the spring schedule. the school chancellor says pe, art, dance, and music credit classes were the most impacted. officials say the budget deficit is caused primarily by spending ones benefits and salaries. another sign juul is struggling financially. the e-cigarette may sell its building in soma. juul bought a skyscraper for 0 $390 million earlier this year, but now the company is looking to cut costs, possibly by already selling the building. the move comes amid heightened scrutiny surrounding vaping. several states are working to ban e-cigarettes and top retailers like walmart sayhey
