homicides this year. live now from the newsroom with more on-this. >> reporter: good evening. neighbors are mourning the loss of the two young boys fatally shot this morning in the school parking lot. they are the first two homicides of the city this year. police say they don't have any leads in a possible suspect. and community involvement will be critical. all day they gathered at the site of the fatal shooting. >> that's obviously ehorrific for the failies and prayers go out. >> reporter: about 1:30 this morning they got several 911 call cans reporting gun shots. when police arrived, they found two boys in the park min >> there's a few fireworks going off. they like the do that here.

it was a very long drawn out range of shots. >> reporter: the 11-year-old died on the way to the hospital. >> the motive behind why they were there, what led them to that particular location and what led the suspects to come in contact with them is still under investigation. >> reporter: crime scene investigators collected several shell casings hoping it would help them determine the type of weapons to use. this mom says her son went to school with one of the boys. they say theother boy used to be a student in the district. she says her mom is struggling to deal. >> they don't want to go volvement wi bcritical.e rely o eyes and ears in situations like this. it's extremely important. teir role is extremely

>> reporter: he began cpr on an unconscious 18-year-old boy. >> there was no pulse. he was not breathing. >> reporter: how was frat you to save someone and you're noticing that they're pretty much gone? >> it can be hard. can be hard. >> reporter: the victim's brother told the officers his brother-an over dose on cocaine and heroin. the officer-just arrived to the station and grabbed his bag where he had a dose of narcan. >> we've been trained on this. >> reporter: according to oakland police they've saved five lives in the last 45 days thanks to this training. now every field officer carries narcan with them. 800 units were donated by

believes it was arson. >> two days ago someone tried to break in. we've been in the business 30 years, my mom and i. so we don't have any idea who would cause something like this. >> reporter: no businesses were open at the time and nobody was hurt. >> one person was dead following a fire tonight in walnut creek. it started just after 6:15. the other units have smoke and water damage and the residents are staying somewhere else tonight. the name of the person who died has not been released and the cause is under investigation. happening now three of the five dectis o th bay bridgare closed for routine maintenance. caltrans was set to begin the closures at 11:00 and things will reopen at 9:00 tomorrow morning and tomorrow night two

winds return gusty once again ahead of the cold front that will bring rain starting on tuesday. so we're starting to see the pattern change. i do have chilly spots. we're at 46 though in oakland. 55 in the city. much cooler than that coming in at a temperature of 40. clear skies, plenty of stars. temperatures in 30 in the north bay. they're chilly around santa rosa. we're hoping 60 in the city. we'll drop to about 41 in redwood city. tomorrow afternoon we'll drop back. 66 in san francisco. 67 in san jose. up to 70 degrees. as we fast forward into monday, future with weather showing you the winds will begin tastart picking up along the coast first thing monday morning. 20 to 30 mile-per-hour winds and

we'll find them intensify area wide, especially monday evening. the winds coming in at about 20 to 30 miles per hour. the good news is these winds are short lived. by early tuesday morning they rapidly calm down in time for the rain to arrive tuesday afternoon. so we have this exclusivebly here at abc 7 to rank our storm and one coming on tuesday is a level one. a light system. we'll find steady rain tuesday afternoon and evening. and we could see a thunderstorm pop up. and snow levels drop to about 3,000 feet. this is tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. we expect rain to start entering the picture in the north bay. 3,000 feet you could find flakes flying as well. for the evening commute tuesday, even orange on your screen, we will likely find heavier down pours.
