the wind advisory is gone and the flooding potential is gone on the kincade fire burn scar. moving over pacifica and hayward and union city, we have downpours. we also have thunderstorms off the coast. we'll have some isolated heavy downpours, locally gusty winds, even hail, graupel and snow. this is future radar over the next several hours, this takes us up to the launch hour, plenty of oranges and reds in there, which are the locally heavy showers and thunderstorms. this day where we have a light day. locally it could be just as intense yesterday during dinner time and the commute, just not as widespread. we have issues on the roads, here is jobina. >> good morning. we have issues with our mass transit here. there's some flooding on the muni train right now. so there will be delays from

church to van o switch back at church. this is important to know. that will impact several people as they start their morning commute. a live look at the san mateo bridge, definitely backed up as people head in towards the peninsula. lots of brake lights and slick conditions there. we can see that rain coming down. now i want to get to the big talker, it's this sigalert. you can see the map. speeds down to about 4 miles per hour on the dumbarton bridge. three cars are involved in this crash. emergency crews are on the way there blocking two lanes at this point. the backup extends more than 2 miles right now. >> okay. thanks. we told you not to go to the sierra today. we're still telling you not to go to the sierra today as we deal with a level one storm. >> snow and ice are causing dangerous conditons along 80, but some people are still out there trying to brave it. amy hollyfield pole th all those

good morning. >> good morning. we're watching interstate right now it looks good. filling in a little bit but traffic is moving fine in both directions but it's not a great time to head to the sierra. the first big snowstorm of the season is causing drivers all kinds of problems. at one point the chp closed 80 in both directions up there yesterday because of the conditions. drives who tried it had to surrenderment >> i was fishtailing everywhere. sliding. i'm going to a hotel. regroup. get four chains, and then try to make it to see my girlfriend. he just gave up. the chp says it was a horrible day. they responded to crashes and spinouts all day long. they're begging people to cancel or at least delay their trips. today is the busy travel day for cars.

aaa says nothing worse than wednesday before thanksgiving. they say the worst time to be on the road out of san francisco or out of this area is from 2:00 to 4:00 this afternoon. they're predicting this will be the second busie busie busie bue the road since 2000. be prepared. know what you're getting into as you push off today. the reporting live in pinole, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. >> here's a look at conditions that prompted flight delays in san francisco. rain came down in sheets in south san francisco near the airport last night. some drivers on 101 in the area say at one point the rain was so heavy they had to pull over to let the downpour pass. and it looks like the south bay is expecting more rain today. this time more people say they will be prepared. abc7 news was in san jose last night when people ran to get out of the rain. those who bundled up in heavy waterproof jackets were still

shocked at how cold it got. temperatures dipped below 50 degrees. >> i didn't expect it to be this cold. i know everyone was saying the temperatures will drop, we'll get wet, but this took me by surprise. >> drivers say the roads in san jose are slick with oil. they're warning others to slow down and stay safe. the rain that drenched the bay area caused some real issues in the north bay. >> reporter: in santa rosa, the rain came down and the lights went out. the same people who lost power during recent planned outages were left in the dark again for about an hour. >> i don't think anybody thought we would get shut off so soon after the other inconvenience, so i think everybody's getting a little frustrated. >> people on the road in the north bay got a quick lesson on driving in the rain. they were taking it slow. it was like rush hour traffic in the morning but going south.

it took me a long time to get there. we couldn't see well. >> i prefer this than the fires so i think we should count our blessings. >> our meteorologists tracked the storm using live doppler 7. you can do the same thing with our abc7 news app. developing news out of the east bay, the contra costa county sheriff's office is investigating the murder of a 17-year-old boy. he was killed in a shooting yesterday in richmond. deputies found the teen just lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds on market avenue near 5th street. so far no arrests have been made. there is now a $4,000 reward on the line to help figure out who is sending projectiles into vehicles. it's been happening along 101 in monterey county. at least 40 vehicles have been hit since february. that includes a school bus. the chp says it is not sure what the projectiles are. this is a sad start to the red kettle campaign. thieves in contra costa county stole two kettles in three days.

90-year-old mother, they were caught in the tsa line last night during the outage for three hours. their flight to dallas was canceled, so they're flying out this morning. >> i think i probably got two hours of sleep last night. but it's the holidays, so it's -- you make the best of it. >> power was restored at 9:00. let's hope there's no power outages today. today is the second busiest day for the travel period with nearly 3 million people set to fly out the day before thanksgiving. reporting live at the oakland airport, lauren martinez, abc7 news. >> thank you. >> there's a look at oakland. here's a look at sfo. the airport is warning it expects a lot of people to be flying out today, traffic getting into the airport was backing up on to highway 101 past midnight. last night's storm forced sfo to delay more than 200 flights, some for up to 90 minutes.

we have good news right now at 6:35 in the morning, we're not seeing any delays. if your flight is taking off very soon, you're in luck. caltrans crews will be out cleaning up the mess left by the storm. abc was at 0 and ocean avenue where there was a backup because of flooding. the flooding was down by the time we got there but there was debris on the road. the storm produced lightning in some parts of the bay area. look in your lower left-hand corner. that's video of a lightning strike after 11:00 last night. we have looped this video. viewers tell us they saw lightning strikes as the storm clouds passed over. the powerful storms struck the u.s. during the busiest time of the year. more than 130 million americans and 32 states are under a weather alert.

climber is recovering after a fall at yosemite. emily harrington has 23 years of climbing experience, but she was not prepared to climb el capitan on saturday. >> i couldn't feel my toes. that's one thing i should have thought about more. >> reporter: she was determined to ascend the cliff fshg s, she about 150 feet up when she lost her grip. >> i thought okay, this is happening, i'm falling. i don't remember the impact. >> reporter: she tumbled off the cliff. her rope stopped her fall just 50 feet off the ground. fellow climbers including alex hammel, the star of the oscar winning documentary "free solo" came to her rescue. >> the first thing i remember was my partner, alex, being next to me.
