meteorologist mike nicco. >> i want to set the table with our storm impact scale, our exclusive way of letting you know what to expect out of this storm. it's a 1, even though the rain is moderate at times, it will be steadiest this morning, becoming scattered this afternoon. up to a third of an inch. between vasco road and marsh creek road, we have some downpours just to the east of blackhawk and mount diablo. that's heading up towards brent would the, discovery bay, antioch and oakley. highway 4 will be wetter than it is right now. we have some steady right rain just about everywhere including down in san jose, 280 and 17. so low to mid 50s at 7:00. mid to upper 50s noon to 4:00. we try to bring sunshine. then isolated at 7:00 this evening with mid 50s.

it's a wet commute so let's get over to jobina. >> we are still continuing to follow this situation in san jose right now. seven-car crash reported by the chp on northbound 280 before state route 87. speeds are low at 9 miles per hour in that area. the backup extends more than two miles at this point. they're focused on the injuries right now involved in this crash. three left lanes have been blocked at this point. we will continue to follow that for you this morning. leaving you with a live look at the san mateo bridge. earlier this morning i was reporting that there was some flooding at the end of the bridge once you got off heading west bound there. that has been cleared up now. >> thanks. the rain is being blamed for a landslide on the peninsula. >> our storm watch team coverage continues with amy hollyfield who is live in san bruno with the closures now in place. >> good morning. this salk and this lane on san bruno avenue are closed.

we're at the top of this hill of this slide. this is between glenside drive and crestmoore drive. they're worried about how this could impact this sidewalk if it goes more. here's some pictures of the area. san bruno said about 30 feet of hillside eroded. the emergency declaration enables them to hire experts who can mitigate the landslide and try to keep the erosion from impacting the sidewalk. we don't have a lot of rain happening here right now, but this is what they are worried about. this is rain in san jose. this is this morning. we are expecting steady rain like this throughout the day. all this rain could compromise vulnerable hillsides. san bruno officials will be keeping a close eye on this one. they say at this time no homes are threatened by this unpredictable hill. everyone is okay. it's not threatening people, but they do want everyone aware they have cordoned off

. welcome back. it's 6:15. the ntsb has released its preliminary report into what it believes is a deadly plane crash even though no wreckage has been found. on board was justin winfrey and kayla rodriguez, two friends from san francisco. on thursday, october 24th, they flew in justin's plane from novato to shelter cove. the two were seen having dinner at a local restaurant and left around 8:30. according to the ntsb report, a witness observed the airplane depart at 9:00 p.m. and reported that the sky was completely dark with no horizon. searchers have found no sign of the plane or the two people on board. the ntsb report calls it a fatal accident. winfrey is a businessman and landlord. in addition to being a pilot, rodriguez is his tenant and

worked as a labor and delivery nurse at cpmc in san francisco. new at 6:00, no insurance, no problem. the trump administration will give 200,000 uninsured americans access to hiv preventive drugs for free. health and human services is launching a program called ready, set, prep. it allows patients not enrolled in a federal health program to get prep with is a daily pill. they can sign up at getyourprep.com. the drug company behind it promised to donate the pills after discussions with the trump administration. some cities including san francisco already have programs to help people pay for prep. snoop dogg is bringing babies into his doggy dog world. the rapper has adapted his hit songs into lullabies. his new album will be released this friday. it includes instrumental versions of begin and juice and drop it like it's hot. >> that's what every child needs in their life.

after several pedestrian crashes. we told you about last friday night, 72-year-old suzanne ogi and her dog, molly, were struck and killed by a car. witnesses say the driver stopped briefly and then took off. there have been at least two other deadly crashes in this area as well. the proposals include reducing lanes, constructing missing sidewalks and putting a traffic light at rock avenue, the site of that fatal accident. people spoke for and against these changes. >> there's an urgency to it. too many people have died this year. we're on a record pace this year. it's really bad if you're a pedestrian in fremont. >> how about you spend the fraction of the money and hire one more police officer to spend more time on traffic enforcement. that would be a solution. >> the majority of the city council supports the city's proposals. hans larsen, public works director for the city of fremont says they hope to solicit bids on the project by the spring and for construction

incquitted of killing kate steinle. jose ines garcia zarate, an undocumented immigrant, was back in court yesterday. two years ago he was acquitted of all but a gun charge in the shooting death of steinle at san francisco's pier 14. the sole conviction was overturned by an appeal court which said the judge improperly instructed jurors. now his attorney said a judge asked the district attorney not to retry him. garcia zarate still faces federal weapons charges. abc7 news is committed to building a better bay area. it is no secret san francisco's sidewalks can become messy. by that we are referring to human and animal waste. it's so visible in the tenderloin district it's nicknamed code brown. to fix the neighborhood's problem, there's a plan to steam clean and pressure wash every single block once a week. it's being paid for by property owners who agreed to an extra tax. >> we see how much is being done. when you see the groups here today that are helping and you still knows there more work to
