. now at 5:00, future radar is showing us what's in store for the bay area this weekend. not one but two storms set to soak the bay area starting this afternoon. and the wet weather is going to stick around for a while. >> good morning, it's friday, december 6th. you're never more than seven minutes away from your accuweather forecast. i know mike has been tracking these storms. getting us prepared. >> yep. watching it for several days right now. we've also been watching the fog at night. southerly winds pumping too much moisture into the air. it can't handle it and turning it into fog. look at livermore and the altamont pass. a couple hundred feet visibility. same thing for fairfield. better in concord. get down to walnut creek, you're looking at a couple hundred yards of visibility looking south on 680 into 24 where it gets thicker this morning. here's my storm impact scale, 2 for heavy rain at times.

strong, gusty winds, a chance of thunderstorms not onlyodayutto we staff l tos. >> ifou'r headm the east bay across the bay bridge, i want to point out an issue for you that will slow down your commute. the chp says two cars were racing and crashed, this is westbound 80 at 9th street blocking two lanes. debris is all across the roadway. check out the camera. you can see the bay bridge. the backup extends to the incline now. speeds are low there. i'll track that for you. you can see this will be a slow ride for you as you head in this morning. the golden gate bridge has just one car going across right now. in the north bay, the rain brings concern of flooding in the kincade fire fire burn zone. >> santa rosa residents are racing to get prepared with the kincade fire burning 78,000 acres, the scar zones are

vulnerable to heavy rains. some drentzs spent yesterd resit clearing out gutters and storm drains. yeeping yr phones charged to get emergency alerts. caltrans crews are racing against the incoming storm by placing barriers across part of highway 101. workers also placed sandbags along the highway to keep it from flooding. they're hoping to avoid a repeat of wednesday's flooding. drivers were left stranded as 101 was closed south of salmonella. you can get the same live doppler 7 that mike uses. it's on our abc7 news app. enable push alerts to get weather advisories on your phone. a woman is recovering after getting pinned under a muni metro train. >> this happened before 11:00 last night on the tracks at 3rd and king street. rescue crews had to lift the

train to get her out. abc7 news reporter lauren martinez has more from the scene. lauren? >> reporter: reggie and kumasi, everything is running smoothly now. just an hour ago this was a different scene. police officers and investigators had this area taped off. they were trying to figure out what exactly happened. police say that a woman was hit or rather pinned just before 11:00 p.m. she was under the train. the train stopped. the fire department had to come in and bring heavy equipment to get her out. right now police say she's with family. she's doing okay. she's at san francisco general hospital. police say that it's undetermined why she was exactly there. was she trying to walk? police say she wasn't pushed. it happened in the middle of the crosswalk near the island where people get on and off for muni. police say this all just appears to be an accident, but right now

muni service has been restored. the seems like everything is running as business as usual here. reporting live in san francisco, lauren martinez, abc7 news. your voice your vote at the live desk. senator bernie sanders has taken the lead. the poll was conducted for the "l.a. times"." sanders is in the lead with 4 hr4%. senator elizabeth warren is in second place at 22%. that's a 7 point loss since september when she led the poll. former vice president joe biden has 14%. mayor pete buttigieg with 12%. the poll was done before snaenar kamala harris dropped out earlier this week. nearly 1,700 california democrats participated in the poll. >> interesting. thank you.

nancy pelosi is getting a lot of attention for pushing back after a reporter asked if she hates the president. >> this is about the constitution of the united states and the facts that lead to the president's violation of his oath of office. as a catholic, i resent you're using the word "hate" in a sentence that addresses me. i don't hate anyone. i was raised in a way that was a heart full of love and always pray for the president >> pelosi told a reporter not to mess with her during a cnn town hall meeting last night. yet another projectile hit a vehicle on highway 101. it happened last night in monterey county in prunedale. there have been 47 cases of projectiles hitting cars in the area since february. this is video from an accident last month. chp is investigating these incidents. this morning a hayward

police officer is doing fine after being involved in a crash. sky 7 was overhead shortly after it happened yesterday at 4:00 p.m. at mission boulevard and tennyson road. the car that collided with the officer's suv was stolen. the driver was wanted for robberies. there was a pursuit that lasted about a minute, and that suspect hit the patrol vehicle. the suspect wasn't hurt and got arrested. a police dog was in the suv along with the officer driving and both of them are okay. this morning antioch police are looking for a woman who allegedly ran over a barber after a dispute over her son's hair cut. 63-year-old ryan martin underwent surgery yesterday for injuries that he suffered when he was hit by the car. this is a picture that brian sent us from his hospital room to let his customers and friends know he is on the mend. martin says that he just finished cutting the hair of one of ruby delgadillo's sons and she seemed uneasy about something but left the shop.

20 minutes later he said she came back, showed him a skracra on her son's neck and started cursing. he said he followed her out. >> she's flipping me off, screaming f-u, and she put that thing in drive and floored it. what she did was wrong. there may be some emotional problem she has. the kid shouldn't have to pay a price for this. >> yesterday martin posted this on facebook, it says in part pray for it the lady who hit me. she has two young boys with her. four people are dead after a wild police chase and shootout in florida. nearly a dozen law enforcement officers fired their weapons at two robbery suspects in the middle of yesterday's evening commute. >> shots have been fired. >> this is -- >> you're watching this unfold. you can see all those shots fired. >> reporter: this morning the chilling video of a deadly shootout.

multiple police agencies in miramar, florida cornering two suspects in rush hour traffic. this was the end of a massive chase that started more than 20 miles away in coral gables. police say two suspects held up a jewelry store, then opened fire as they took off in a van. >> all of a sudden we hear like eight or ten backfires, which clearly were gunshots. >> this is what dangerous people do to get away. >> reporter: at one point a bullet hit coral gables city hall, which was on lockdown. the suspects then carjacked a ups delivery truck, taking off with police close behind. the suspects running red lights, hopping curbs, packages flying out into traffic. the truck coming to a stop on that busy highway in miramar as police vehicles closed in. the chase ending in a barrage of gunfire. >> armed suspects engaged law enforcement, opened fire. there was exchang fire between law enforcement and the suspects.

and unfortunately the suspects are now deceased but two additional innocent civilians were also deceased. >> reporter: among those innocent victims killed, the ups driver and a bystander inside another car at the scene of the shooting. >> let's look at my storm concerns for what's coming up. standing water on the roadways will cause ponding. power lines will come down, possibly trees and also the flooding is possible in the north bay. for san francisco, we'll be dry through the morning hours. a chance of random showers at 11:00 through 1:00. steadier rain starting at 3:00. notice the temperature dropping as that rain gets heavier. peninsula is quiet through most of the day.

a random shower possible, mid 60s. by 5:00, a better chance and by 7:00 it should be steady. as far as the east bay goes, quiet through 1:00. a stray shower possible because it's so humid today. 3:00 to 5:00, scattered showers, steadier at 7:00. for the east bay valleys, our steadiest rain will start around 5:00 and get heavier at 7:00. we could have a random shower and mid 60s during the day. in the south bay, you can see it's quiet up to 3:00. scattered showers at 5:00. windy and rainy at 7:00. the evening commute can't escape the rain no matter where you are. let's talk about the commute this morning. >> i want to start off with a look at the bay bridge what you're seeing here are the taillights, the cars trying to come off at 9th street. they are dealing with the backup because of a two-car crash i was telling you about. it's all clear. look at the speeds past the golden gate bridge.

yes for less. it's 5:14. 7 things to know this morning. you have a couple howevers before the winds become dangerous. 10:00 this morning to 7:00 saturday we have the possibility of damage from gusty winds. 4:00 today to 4:00 tomorrow, a 12-hour window of flooding is possible near the kincade fire burn scar. people impacted by the kincade fire say they have to worry about potential flooding. residents say they have been clearing gutters and storm drains. santa rosa's 24-hour city yard.

number three, a woman is recovering after pinned under a nimuni metro train in front of oracle park. it happened at 3rd and king street. rescue crews had to lift the muni train to get her out. number four, uber's first safety report has been released, it's sobering. uber says more than 3,000 sexual assaults were reported in 2018. 58 people were killed in crashes. 9 people were murdered. uber points out that this is out of 1.3 billion rides. number five, joe biden's campaign says that former secretary of state john kerry will travel to iowa today to formerly endorse him. this comes one day after this incident when biden kind of got into it with a voter for falsely accusing him of selling access to the presidency. number six, we are experiencing some residual traffic on the bay bridge. look at these speeds, down to 12 and 17 miles per hour because of

a crash that has now cleared. but it was on westbound 80 at 9th street. prepare for delays if you're coming from the east bay into san francisco. number seven, second grade students from pittsburg who went viral after turning lizzo's hit "truth hurts" into their own song got to meet the singer before her concert last night at s.a.p. center and they got to watch lizz's performance. a health clinic operating in one of san francisco's oldest neighborhoods is celebrating a milestone. the chinatown public health center has been around 90 years it moved into the iconic building that sits atop the broadway tunnel. the clinic offers medical services to about 5,000 people in english and cantonese. >> it takes quite a bit of energy for them to speak in in their own native tongue and to speak in an environment is important. the clinic offers nutrition

services to deal with the growing problem of obesity and hypertension in the chinese community. members of the samoan community in the bay area are asking for help to fight a devastating health crisis on that pacific island. this church launched a donation drive for victims of a deadly measles outbreak. the outbreak claimed more than 60 lives including those of many kids. the church is collecting medical supplies, items for babies like wipes and canned food. a team of volunteer also travel to samoa on the 15th to help give out donated supplies. a report is raising new concerns about how we use cell phones. a study finds a spike in cell phone related injuries. the majority were caused by distractions like texting while walking. 20 years of emergency room data found a spike in visits after 2006 and that's about the time when smartphones were introduced. the international space station is about to receive quite the delivery.

60s. 6 to to 64 degrees with a southerly wind making it more humid for us. tonight will be mild. mid 50s just about everywhere. low 50s in the north bay late tonight. here we are, a few scout showers possible out ahead of the steadier rain which moves in to the north bay at about 2:00, 3:00. it moves into the heart of the bay as we head into the 7:00 hour. yellows, oranges, reds, that's moderate torain. it sits across us. a break in the morning for most of us outside the north bay. then you can see the red moving in there. that's the chance of some thunderstorms as we head through the day tomorrow. there's a slight chance of thunderstorms today. you can see by tomorrow evening, everything starts to break up. so let's look at my accuweather seven-day forecast. an inch a little more than an inch possible in the south bay, 4 inches in the north bay. most of us an inch to two inches of rain by sunday. temperatures next week, still cool but it's not raining.

time for a top to bottom review of police arrests. good morning. >> we'll get to all those stories in a moment but first we're checking in with mike. those storms are on the horizon. >> they're still about 12 hours away for a lot of us. the fog is my biggest concern this morning then we'll talk about the showers. here is walnut creek. you can see on 680, you run into a wall of dangerously low visibility thanks to that fog. as we zoom out from vacaville, antioch, tracy, coming in 80, 540, will you run into that fog. so that's the big issue this morning. low to mid 50s. mostly cloudy today with random showers. after the noon hour, when it becomes quite breezy,rm impacts bay area. here is jobina.

>> the good news is the crash we've been following this morning that happened on westbound 80 at 9th street has been cleared up. two teens were involved in that racing. not good. a live look at the bay bridge toll plaza, metering lights came on at 5:15. since it is slow over there, mass transit may be a good option. everything is on time. the ferries, b.a.r.t. has 29 trains, ace 1 is also on time. want to let you know about this, smart train, a new service will be launching saturday, december 14th, going to larkspur and downtown novato. the a lot of people are excited about this. this is the first new track added since smart started in 2017. should be pretty nice. you have a little bit of time but not a ton of it to get ready for two storms back-to-back. >> the atmospheric river has returned. it will get us wet for a lot of

the weekend. amy hollyfield is live in pinole with the details. >> good morning. if you want to go to the sierra and catch the snow, now is your window. now is the time to get going. other than that, travel will be dangerous and maybe even impossible starting later today. they're advising that you not go, just stay in the bay area. it will be too dangerous in you head that way. in the north bay, it is rain they're preparing for. officials say they will be watching the kincade burn area, looking for possible slides. they want residents to be aware and we did talk to some residents who said they have been getting ready. >> i'm more concerned about the water being contaminated and just contamination of anything that could be in that burn

because there's probably going to be some delays. almost 100% there will be delays. >> don't speak that over my flight. my flight is exempt. >> i'll be thinking about you. >> thank you. lafayette police arrested two people for several home invasion robberies over the past two months, but the police chief says this investigation is not over. 22-year-old joseph wells and 20-year-old adama diop both from fairfield are suspects of four home invasions in oakland on october 29th, in lafayette on october 31st. in benicia on november 10th and again on november 26th. >> we served the search warrant, went into the home, collected evidence which included firearms. >> police are still considering the possibility of another suspect. the d.a.'s office will decide whether to file charges against the two arrested suspects. airbnb is taking more steps to crack down on parties and problem guests.e y

is on al media. this move comes weeks after a deadly shooting at an airbnb rental in orinda on halloween night. five people were killed in that incident. uber is out with its long-awaited first safety report and the results are sobering. the report details incidents that affected drivers and riders during uber's 1.3 billion rides in the u.s. last year. 3,045 sexual assault reports were reported, 58 people were killed in crashes, 9 people were murdered. uber's chief legal officer says the company's findings are still difficult to stomach. lyft is facing several lawsuits over safety. the most haven't was filed wednesday on behalf of 20 women who claim they were sexually assaulted and raped by lyft drivers. lyft iueitn atwhysn rte' rko safety in every aspect of our

work. there's many ways to stay safe in your rideshare, we have tips on abc7news.com. to the south bay, the union school district is warning parents after several middle school students needed medical attention after taking prescription drugs. the school district emailed parents that a small handful of students at dartmouth middle school may have taken medications scribed to other members of their family. the front office staff contacted the fire department and the students received medical attention. a b.a.r.t. director is calling for an audit of b.a.r.t. police citations. abc7 news was at the board meeting in oakland yesterday when b.a.r.t. director janis lee says staff should look at the ethnicity of people cited. you may remember this, a b.a.r.t. police officer arrested a man last month for eating a sandwich on the platform. he filed a lawsuit accusing officers of racial profiling. the examiner reports that b.a.r.t. police issued 55 citations in the last five years for eating and drinking at

winds. 50 miles per hour at the higher elevations. here's the flood potential. 2 to 4 inches of rain will fall on the kincade burn area, and that could cause downstream lcations to flood with debris and mud. here's the north bay, our best chance of rain is around 1:00. it becomes morsteadedy heading into the evening rush. san francisco, random showers from 11:00, at 3:00, steady light rain. after that it becomes heavier during the evening hours. peninsula, pretty quiet. mid 60s, random shower from 5:00 on, all bets are off as far as dry weather. east bay, quiet through 1:00. 3:00 on we'll drop down to 60 from a high of 64 as the rain gets valleys, the fog is the big issue. mostly cloudy, mid 60s. getting heavier at 7:00. in the east bay, you will be the

issuing a final ruling. the he's concerned his court doesn't have jurisdiction in the case because of a pending appeal filed by the school district. the school district and neighbors will need to submit a brief on the issue due at the end of the month. in the north bay health officials say a child from novato died from an e. coli infection. they say the child developed a rare complication that led to kidney failure. marin county health officials do not believe the death is linked to a nationwide e. coli outbreak involving romaine lettuce grown in salinas. school leaders are getting advice on protective measures they can take as a precaution. insurance companies doing business in california cannot cancel a homeowner's policy in fire zone areas. that's after the state insurance commissioner imposed a one-year moratorium. yesterday's action will help people living in more than 800,000 homes in wildfire areas where policies were not renewed many were forced to get the california fair plan insurance policy meant for those unable to
