saturday morning. why it happened is still a mystery. but we know all three men were related. >> we learned tonight that all three men are cousins. they were driving back home from a church event in concord where they played music to raise funds for an upcoming trip. this is the last time when they sang and played together with their loved ones. >> it's a huge loss. everyone's trying to be strong for each other. but i know everyone is dying inside. >> reporter: hours after this event, the nissan where the three cousins were riding veered to the right and went off the highway hitting the tree head on. chp is investigating whether drugs or alcohol played a part. at his home, his siblings comforted each other.

$13.5 billion settlement. >> it sounds very good, big number, but we don't know how many people and how it breaks down. >> reporter: lawyers from the three firms representing the victims say pg&e will pay $13.5 billion, half in cash, half in stock. lawyer richard bridgeford says once pg&e emerges from bankruptcy, victims will be given stock, clear of liabilities. >> they're drawing upon the future value of pg&e to compensate the victims. they will be generating billion of dollars in income as a public monopoly. >> the settlement has the support of governor newsom but has to be signed off by a bankruptcy judge which can take months. if approved the lawyers think victims will start being paid next year. >> the most important thing for everybody to know is when they're going to have a check it's going to go into their bank account and that should be the fourth quarter of next year.

sunnyvale police are trying to learn more about a shooting that sent a man to the hospital today. officers converged on roosevelte avenue. paramedics rushed him to the trauma center. sunnyvale hasn't said if any arrests have been made. new details in the shooting in mission district. san francisco police were responding to a report of a burglary yesterday morning when they encounter aid possible suspect. a police spokesperson told "the san francisco chronicle" that the suspect struck an officer with a glass bottle. the officer fired at the man. the officer was discharged last night. an update to a story we first brought you last week about a missing, rare, and pricey bird. blue, a 3-year-old macau accidentally escaped while at a grooming appoint in san jose.

>> i would never accuse you guys of doing that. here's drew with a look at the forecast. we're running at 99% of normal in the sierra for snow fall to this date. great news there. winter weather lovers are rejoicing. tonight as rain moves out here, the fog is moving in. live doppler 7 along with satellite showing you that we are rain free. it's been a pretty wet last couple of days. we're going to get a break in the wet weather tomorrow. outside, live look at oakland at 880. if you look closely in the light you can see the fog already beginning to form in the east bay. we're going to see that fog continue to expand in the overnight hours. so, the accuweather highlights, what we're tracking over the next couple of days in the near term, the first issue we'll have tomorrow morning is locally dense fog especially in our valleys tonight. tomorrow afternoon though it is a brighter and dryer day. you do not need the rain gear at all on your monday. you can leave it at home. tuesday, the next chance for drizzle will enter the picture.

that will be in the north bay. looking at visibility right now. this is in miles. we have issues in the north bay. visibility down to a third of a mile in santa rosa, napa, and navarro. this will likely expand. fog will be an issue first thing tomorrow morning. so, it's a good idea for the morning commute tomorrow, use caution. we'll track those areas of dense fog with the visibility drops very low. use your low beams, never your high beams. that will refract the water droplets and makes it harder to see. give extra distance between cars as the visibility will cause a slower commute for some tomorrow morning. right now we're in the 40s to low 50s. 53 in the city, 54 in san jose, cooled to 48 in oakland. overnight the numbers will continue to drop. around the bay shoreline we'll settle in the mid to low 40s. tonight in the north bay even cooler than that. we'll drop into the upper 30s. so, tonight certainly a cooler night than last night.

here's the 12 hour day planner, break down the day tomorrow. we'll track the dense fog spots tomorrow morning. pretty much between 8 and 9:00 a.m. we'll start to see the fog diminish. into the afternoon it's more of sunshine. it's a brighter afternon compared to today. temperature-wise mid 50s to lower 60s. 60 in san jose, same in santa rosa, 60 the high in antioch. high pressure and control tomorrow. gives us a break from the wet weather. dense morning fog giving way to afternoon sunshine. that high pressure gets suppressed into tuesday. watch a cold front approach california. during the day it'll increase the clouds on tuesday, but as the front moves on shore it's really going to fall apart. so, at best we're just tracking drizzle at night in the north bay. no widespread wet weather coming our way tuesday into wednesday. morning fog to sun tomorrow. drizzle at night on tuesday in the north bay. a lot of leftover clouds here midweek.
