for a suspect in a homicide. san jose police swarming a neighborhood. squ julian glover is there. juli julian? >> good morning, reggie. we just got new information from police on the scene. they say they are speaking with several people. they came out of the home where they believe that suspect could have been barricaded, but they cannot confirm whether or not they have the shooter at this time. still an active police presence here by the san jose police, right at white road and rose avenue here in east san jose. the police came out here at 2:00 this morning on reports of a shooting. they later found the victim who was pronounced deaded a t ed at scene. witnesses telling police they believe the shooter lived in this neighborhood and that's what locked down this neighborhood and has had it locked down for four hours at this point. we've heard from people who work in the area, trying to get through this busy intersection,

wondering if they can go to work this morning. so far it looks like the answer is no because they do not know how much longer this could be locked down. again, south white road closed in both directions from alum rock avenue to east hills road as officers continue looking for this suspect. the latest update, several people are being questioned by police right now and they're working to confirm whether or not they have the shooter in custody. reporting live in san jose, julian glover, abc7 news. >> thank you. also new developments this morning. san francisco police just identified the body in a 43-year-old cold case. detectives say a missing persons report filed for judy gifford a few years ago placed her disappearance in the same timeframe of a murder in 1976. dna tests confirmed the match but her killer is still a mystery. the san francisco board of supervisors plans to take up an emergency resolution to address the drug crisis. matt haney held a rally inside city hall yesterday demanding public safety board members

it early. caution at the beaches and take the chains for the high country. fog through 53 at 9:00, 11:00 on, chances of rain. east bay valleys, fog through 9:00. then 1:00 on, upper 50s with a chance of wet weather. our last stop is the south bay, just mainly cloudy this morning, 57. a little sunshine and 61 before the rain starts to roll in after 2:00. we have a few things to get to with our fog coverage. first i want to start with the sigalert in berkeley. the chp was working out the details. they established this crash is on westbound 80 at ashby involving two cars there. two lanes are shut down now. speeds down to 9 and 11 miles per hour. the backup is extending more than five miles back. this is a big problem for people making their way down further into oakland and into the city. the in antioch, visibility is down to 100 feet along highway 4. fog advisories have been issued

a warning if you have ring security cameras in your home. the company says change your password often. here's why. multiple people are hacking into these cameras. watch. >> what you watching? what are you eating? you hungry? >> what? >> this is new video out of nebraska. that voice you hear is a stranger who hacked into this family's security system and started asking questions based on what the family was doing. experts say the hackers are taking advantage of people who use the same user name and password on multiple devices. the homeowner said he was never advised to set up two-factor verification when he installed the cameras that would hopefully prevent something like this. he since removed all of the cameras. there is no place like home. if you move to kansas, you can get $15,000.

here's the rain potential for the commute. as we head into saturday, the total for this two-storm event will be two-tenths to a third of an inch of rain, most of that falling today. if you're going out to the beaches, watch out for rip currents and the beach erosion. don't turn your back on the waves. it could be dangerous. david stern is in the hospital, he had emergency surgery after suffering a brain hemorrha hemorrhage. the 77-year-old guided the nba for 30 years. he took the sport from a league whose finals aired on tape delayed tv to a multibillion dollar entity. he gave up the official commissioner role to adam silver in 2014. a 6-week-old baby is alive and has no serious injuries after a crash that threw him from a car. chp is calling it a miracle.

>> i've been on with 17 years, never seen anything like this before. >> so chp says that ezra benitez family were in their suv when it crashed and flipped several times. ezra was in a car seat in the back. investigators say it wasn't installed right so he flew out of a broken window. ezra's dad told reporters he got out of the car to search for his baby boy. firefighters ended up finding the baby in his car seat flipped upside down in a bush on the shoulder only with minor injuries. everybody else in the car was okay. >> thank goodness. it's friday the 13th, the winchester mystery house in san jose is doing its part to make it extra spooky. it's holding flashlight tours with stories of the mansion's haunted past. as you may know, sarah winchester, the home's previous owner, was obsessed with the number 13. the home has 13 bathrooms, 13 fireplaces, and 13 steps in a flight of fright.

good morning on this friday, december 13th. >> before we get to that story, let's check in with mike. i know you're looking at fog and rain. >> yeah, a one-two punch today of travel trouble due to the weather. let's look at some video we have out of hayward. this is at the airport. visibility was down to a quarter mile for a while. it's got a little bit of an ebb and flow to it. it's not moving too much. if it's foggy outside, expect it to be foggy for the better part of your commute. here you go, castro valley, hayward, san leandro, 580, 280, 92 all socked in with fog. visibility about a mile at the airport. less than that at petaluma and in oakland. our dense fog advisory issued by the national weather service is for the forth bay valleys, san francisco and the coast, about 2 million people. visibility less than a quarter mile through 8:00. here's our second story today, light to moderate rain moving in today and tonight.

bridge. and julian glover has new information on some breaking news from overnight. >> the latest information at this hour is that san jose police are questioning at least a couple of people and right now they cannot confirm whether either of those people is the shooter that they've been looking for for several hours. that's why this entire area is still barricaded off. we're at white road and rose avenue. this has been blocked off, cordoned off with crime scene tape for at least four hours. san jose police responding to this area just after 2:00 this morning over reports of someone being shot when they got here. that's when they found that victim with one gunshot wound and he was pronouncedead at the scene. witnesses telling police they believe the shooter is someone who lives in this neighborhood and could have been barricaded inside of his own home. that's when police have been trying to coax that person out of the house for several hours. we're hearing a couple people

involved. >> that is horrific. i know a lot of people in new york are thinking about her this morning. thank you. it is a moment long in the making. the new larkspur and downtown novato smart stations open this weekend making it easier for north bay commuters to get to san francisco. >> the celebration is starting today. amy hollyfield is live at the larkspur station with more. good morning. voters approved this in 2008. here is the smart train at the new larkspur station. this station will open tomorrow. smart trains run from san rafael up to the sonoma county airport. this is the most southern station here in larkspur. stations also opening in novato. the hope is to help connect commuters in the north bay and get them out of their cars. there are no b.a.r.t. trains up here, now commuters will have this train. we talked to someone who drove to the larkspur ferry this morning who says this could work out for him.
