she was taken by her father, 24-year-old victor magana. reports are he's armed and dangerous. he's 5'4" he has brown eyes. police believe the two are in his 2007 light green hyundai with california plates. developing news in the impeachment showdown, senators are figuring out what the rules should be for an all but certain senate trial. democrats pushing for witnesses to testify and the trial is dead on arrival. here's ines de la cuetara. >> reporter: good morning, as the impeachment process in the house wraps up, lawmakers are now turning their focus to the impending senate trial debating the terms for what will likely become the next partisan battleground. with the full house set to vote this week to impeach president trump, lawmakers in the senate are looking ahead to an all but

abc7 news. oakland raiders are playing at the -- this is a live look at the new stadium right now. you can see it's still under construction. here's a little interesting tidbit. the cal football team is scheduled to play unlv at the end of august. so technically another bay area team will be playing there for the stadium's first official game. developing news from monterey county. the highway patrol says there are five more cases of projectiles being shot at moving cars along highway 101. you're looking at one of the five cars hit saturday night. investigators say all of the attacks took place within a six-minute window in the northbound direction. so now a total of 11 cars have been hit near the area. all of the cars were struck on the driver's window or wi windshie windshield. these are the latest of 61 similar incidents since february. a gofundme campaign has

raised more than $1700 to help continue a the rink was going to host 200 skaters. he suspects customers caught on surveillance video may be responsible. they're accused of stealing a pair of skates and get nothing an arg getting into an argument with an employee. the rink hopes to get the cooling system back in place and the ice built up by wednesday. 4,000 kaiser hospital workers will start a five-day strike. the union postponed the walk-out last month after kaiser's ceo, bernard tyson died. they want to shorten the wait times for appointments and lessen therapists case loads.

morning. >> number 4, the oakland raiders lost their final home game at the coliseum in a heartbreaking fashion fashion. >> looking live at the bay bridge right now, metering lights are not on. we have a smooth commute this morning. >> number seven, commercial crab season is under way in the bay area. the season was supposed to start about a month ago, it was delayed to protect whale migration. boeing could announce today that it will stop or further reduce production of the troubled 737 max jetliner. the max has been grounded since march following two deadly crashes overseas. support has grown in the past few days for pausing production of the plane. the "wall street journal" reports the move was fueled by the faa telling boeing it set unrealistic goals for receiving approval for the max series to fly again. the planes were grounded because of a flawed autopilot system.

texas authorities are searching for a mother and her newborn baby. they have been missing thi inin thursday. 33-year-old heidi broussard was seen dropping off her 6-year-old son that morning. the surveillance video shows broussard in the video at that time but she did not return to pick up her son after school. police believe the mom and her daughter did go home to their apartment after the school drop off. >> there is nothing of value missing. her purse and her wallet and everything was up here. her cell phone is missing. it's been turned off. >> broussard's fiance and margo's father says he doesn't know anyone who may have wanted to hurt them. he says he wants them to come home safe. sonoma county leaders plan to unveil an emergency proposal tomorrow to shelter homeless residents at the fairgrounds in santa rosa. about 3,000 people are homeless in sonoma county. a large encampment developed along the joe rodada trail next to highway 12. the press democrat is reporting

housing people at the fairgrounds was inspired by how the fairgrounds was used to house people evacuated from wildfires and flooding. phil matier reports a major convention may be coming back to san francisco. the medical association pulled its convention out of the city citing safety issues and concerns about the homeless. matier says they have agreed to return starting in 2023. that news coming after oracle announced they're moving their openworld conference to las vegas next year because of san francisco's high hotel rates and street safety. a team of volunteers are on the search for a dog named jackson who was taken saturday outside of a grocery store. >> if you see any businesses or high foot traffic areas, that's where we want to send people. >> volunteers gathered at a coffee shop on cortland avenue near good life grocery that's where the mini shepherd went missing. volunteers searched the area and

24-year-old victor magana. he is armed and dangerous. he's 5'4" 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. police believe the two are in a 2007 light green hyundai santa fe. california license plate, 7xjx025. a stabbing at the home touched this off. we have video of investigators collecting evidence at the home. keep in mind this is just two blocks away from san jose state university's campus. no information has been released on the condition of that girl's mother who was stabbed. now the focus is on bringing that 2-year-old home. please stop what you're doing and look at that picture.

make sure you're not out and about and reng nice her. recognize her. >> thank you for that >> a protest against pg&e is set for noon today outside the company's headquarters in san francisco. >> a coalition of fire survivors, people with disabilities and others say they are outraged with how pg&e handled the settlement and power shutoffs. the group has three main demands. they want pg&e to give back all shareholder profits until they safely provide power, they want pg&e to invest in minority and disabled communities. and they want to turn pg&e over to the people. pg&e has until tomorrow to meet governor newsom's plan to rework their bankruptcy reorganization plan. newsom says the proposal submitted on thursday doesn't do enough to beef up safety enforcement procedures required under a new state law. the governor says pg&e will have to negotiate changes before it can tap into a state fund to pay more than $13 billion in fire claims.

the state fund is a key part to emerge from bankruptcy. pg&e says it is committed to paying the victims and it will continue to implement changes to improve long-term operations. democratic presidential candidate pete buttigieg will be in the bay area for three fund-raising events. this morning mayor pete will be in palo alto and according to vox, representatives from silicon valley's wealthiest families will be there. that includes the wife of the google co-founder. wood side before coming to san francisco tonight. fans from all over the bay area went to the last home game for the raiders before they move las vegas. this man was at the first raiders game at the coliseum in 1966. he told abc7 news on saturday he

wanted to be at the last game but he didn't have a ticket. the team saw our story and then cheated him to seats in the luxury box. >> i didn't have a ticket and one way or another i would get one. i didn't know it would go this way. it's beautiful. i'm a lucky man. >> the raiders lost and close the season on the road. >> as for the bay area's other team, despite the 49ers losing yesterday, they clinched a spot in the playoffs thanks to the rams also losing. this is san francisco's first postseason berth since 2013. if they win their final two games they could win the nfc west division. abc news is focused on efforts to building a better bay area. we've been following a controversial solution to the homeless crisis in san francisco. there's a new navigation center built along the embarcadero. abc news contributor and

chronicle reporter phil matier reports it's expected to open this week. the center near the bay bridge will house up to 200 people. neighbors who fought against the navigation center argue it will bring more drugs and crime to the area. police say they're setting up a two-block safety zone around that center to keep loiterers, homeless encampments and drug use outside of the zone. now that san francisco's e-scooter program has expanded, an additional 750 e-scott oters will be on the streets. they can be found in several neighborhoods including mission, castro, bayview and near san francisco state university. by february of next year, a total of 4,000 e-scooters will be allowed. the wexaminer is reporting

today. it's your tuesday, we're watching increasing clouds. by late in the day, not the evening commute, later than that, through the overnight hours, we'll see some showers are arrive into your wednesday morning. the rest of the state today, pretty nice. dry. no problems if you're headed out with 53 in sacramento. upper 50s in monterey. breezy on the coast. mid 30s in tahoe. no chain controls. looking at that rain moving in in the next 48 hours. all right. thanks. new this morning, a new study by uc san francisco is highlighting how dangerous e-are e-cigarettes are. the study says e-cigarette increases the risk of asthma, bronchitis, emphysema and pulmonary disease. the risk is higher for those who smoke regular tobacco and e-cigarettes. this is the first long-term study on the effects of e-cigarettes. the findings are published in the journal of preventive medicine published today.

a humboldt state university student is safe today after going through an ordeal in rough waters. the coast guard rescued the 20-year-old surfer yesterday afternoon. you're watching video of the coast guard pulling him up into the helicopter. the surfer got a medical checkup, he'll be okay. several gun buybacks over the weekend led to hundreds of guns being exchanged for cash. in san francisco, united players partnered with sfpd. during the four-hour event more than 300 guns were turned in, including 93 rifles, 75 revolvers and a few antique pistols. in the south bay, gilroy hosted a buyback. this was a first since southern santa clara started this. police collected 500 guns there. the shooting at the gilroy garlic festival prompted one family to turn in 15 guns. all of the weapons will be destroyed. commercial crab season is under way in the bay area. the season was supposed to start a month ago but got delayed.

lauren martinez has more on that. >> reporter: crab season in san francisco has officially started. >> we're hoping that we have a really good season. we're sad that we're a little delayed in starting, but it is what it is. >> reporter: opening day for commercial dungeness crab season was delayed a month. max works for albers seafood. he said the delay hurts everyone. >> it's a big deal for boat owners, for their livelihood, the processors, it's for everyone. >> reporter: time is money for these fishermen that started their day on the water at 2:00 a.m. >> we're lucky to get two to three hours of sleep a day during the opener. >> and we'll be back out here in a couple more hours. take a quick nap and go back out. >> reporter: this boat alone

welcome back. in the north bay, santa rosa police need your help to catch a group of thieves who ripped off a marijuana business and led officers on a high-speed chase. this photo shows the bags of cannabis dropped on the ground by suspects as they were trying to escape from the police. officers confronted six men while investigating reports of an alarm sounding. the men sped off with police in pursuit at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. officers called off the chase because it was too dangerous to continue. this week is expected to be the busiest shipping week for the postal service before the holidays. the center expects to process more than 225,000 packages today and a total of 1.5 million for the week. nationally more than 200 million packages are expected to be processed and delivered. officials say they used to have a busy day, now it's a busy week because so many of us buy online. they say that
