next tuesday. we're expecting to learnre y san jose police that left a man injured. the police chief is set to talk about the shooting for the first time this afternoon. it happened saturday on quimby road near east ridge mall. lauren martinez is live there with more. >> reporter: police shot a man accused of trying to set one of these arco gas station pumps on fire. on saturday he drove away with a pump still attached to his vehicle. he returned with a lighter in his hand. the manager of this arco gas station says her employee called her at home asking what to do after reporting a driver threatening to set one of the gas nozzles on fire. >> i don't know. it's crazy. >> could have been dangerous. >> yeah. could have blown up. i don't see why they would light the gas station on fire. >> according to san jose police, the man was armed with a metal bar and charged at officers.

turnpike. 60 more people were hurt. the crash involved three big rigs and a tour bus, also ar. n the tour bus was going downhill on a curve when it hit an embankment yesterday morning. the big rigs crashed into the bus from behind. it was headed from new york city to cincinnati. officials say it's too early to know iffact worth. yet another hit for boeing this morning. the company just uncovered another potential design flaw with the 737 mac jets. at the request of the faa, boeing conducted its own check last month to scrutinize every part of the 737 jet. some pressing issues popped up. one check found that the critical wiring in charge of controlling the tail of the jet could short circuit.ng to return the 373 max to service since it was grounded after two deadly crashes last year. competition is coming for tesla. its rival fisker unveiled the

at the coliseum. those headlights are moving south this morning. there are no major issues there. santa rosa to petaluma, 13 minutes. castro valley to the maze, 13 minutes. 280 and 680 to 85, 12-minute ride. >> thanks. a central valley man accused of stealing 20 check trielectris will be in court tomorrow. the sheriff's office arrested timothy mcmahon for the theft last week. an employee with scooter company groove told police that the gps on some of their scooters showed they were in french camp. deputies responded to mcmahon's home and said they found scooters in an rv in his driveway. all of the scooters were damaged, dismantled or altered in some way. the chronicle reports p nsla stouiryto high rise apartment complex in berkeley have been halted. the developer refused to pay outstanding permit fees.

the laptop robbery that turned deadly. people in the montclair neighborhood gathered to remember the victim yesterday. he was killed while chasing after the thieves who took his laptop from the starbucks. these are the two accused of the crime. they're both due in court today. amy hollyfield is live at that starbucks with the latest. >> reporter: good morning. look at the outpouring of love here at this starbucks here in montclair. every window is filled with post-it notes. one person wrote there are no words. there are flowers and candles here also for shuo zeng. he was inside the starbucks when his laptop was stolen, he was killed when he ran after the thieves and was hit by their

reporting live in oakland, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. the trial is set to begin for the man charged in the murder of b.a.r.t. passenger nia wilson. >> john lee cowell stabbed wilson to death in 2018 and is charged with stabbing her sister. a judge found cowell mentally competent to stand trial last month. his attorney filed a motion to move the case out of alameda county. she says she doesn't think he can get a fair trial because of all the media coverage. a hearing on the change of venue is set for next week. i'm following rising tensions over president trump and the house over iran. nancy pelosi is pushing for a house vote this week to limit the president's military actions here. the president said on twitter his tweets are a notice to congress that if iran should strike any u.s. person or target, the u.s. will quickly and fully strike back and perhaps in a disproportionate manner.

pressure controlling our weather, one to our west, one off to the east. sunshine today. tuesday a formidable line of water lined up along a cold front that will fall apart as will our chances of rain heading from tuesday into wednesday. it will be mainly while it's dark outside that the rain is falling. that will be one of the bigger challenges. if you look around the state, by 3:30 tuesday, that's when we start to see the rain. it's mainly going to stay north of fresno. just a bit of snow up in the mountains. not a heavy system. this will lose all of its moisture in places like seattle and portland. we'll just get the tail end of it. but it will make the commute wednesday morning a little more challenging. good morning. we'll check in here on mass transit. b.a.r.t. has 39 trains running now. a ten-minute delay in downtown oakland. this train is headed towards
