next tuesday. we're expecting to learn more details about a shooting by san jose police that left a man injured. the police chief is set to talk about the shooting for the first time this afternoon. it happened saturday on quimby road near east ridge mall. lauren martinez is live there with more. >> reporter: police shot a man accused of charging at officers after making threats of setting one of these gas pumps on fire. on saturday he drove away with a pump still attached to his vehicle. he returned with a lighter in his hand. police say he charged at officers with a metal bar. >> shots fired! shots fired! >> couple gunshots to the torso. >> in an email to abc7 news, san jose police say officers used multiple less lethal options that had no effect. the officers ultimately discharged their firearms in response. chief eddie garcia will make a statement later this afternoon with more information at 3:00. reporting live in san jose, lauren martinez, abc7 news. >> thank you. now to developing news out of iran where thousands of people marched in the streets

the big rigs crashed into the bus from behind. it was headed from new york city to cincinnati. officials say it's too early to know if weather was a factor. yet another hit for boeing this morning. the company just uncovered another potential design flaw with the 737 max jets. at the request of the faa, boeing conducted its own check last month to scrutinize every part of the 737 jet. some pressing issues popped up. one check found that the critical wiring in charge of controlling the tail of the jet could short circuit. boeing has been working to return the 373 max to service since it was grounded after two deadly crashes last year. now to hollywood's golden night at the golden globes. >> tom hanks teared up when thanking his wife and kids during his acceptance speech. >> a man is -- a man is blessed with a family sitting down front like that.

5.7 magnitude earthquake that rocked puerto rico. >> it hit around 5:30 in the morning six miles off the coast southwest of the city of ponce. the quake jolted people out of bed and caused power outages and rock slides. some smaller quakes have been shaking the island for about a week. puerto rico is still recovering from the devastation caused by hurricane maria in 2017. i'm following rising tensions between house democrats and president trump over iran. house speaker nancy pelosi is pushing for a house vote this week to limit the president's military actions here. yesterday he tweeted his tweets are a notice to congress that if iran should strike any u.s. person or target, the u.s. will quickly and fully strike back and perhaps in a disproportionate manner. he also said there are 52 possible targets. and we have a video that shows what's happening in iran at this moment.
