weekday this stretch of union is very busy. crash happened here in the middle of the street, whole thing caught on camera. it started like this. and ended with this, overturned san francisco parking control vehicle. by-product of a chronic california crime, car burglaries. around 4:30 monday afternoon officers tried to stop a car that's known to commit smash and grabs in the area. according to sfpd, the suspects drove off. when the uber camera comes into play. driving towards franklin, turned into a driveway, smashed into the vehicle that flipped into the uber that david p. was inside. >> didn't know that people were

running from breaking into cars. >> reporter: police chased down all four suspects who ran away and driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries but david is fed up with the break-ins. >> horrible, i see breaking glass all the time. >> reporter: first day of driving for uber and lyft, car was broken into in san francisco. three years later, towed. >> lots of passengers with lots of issues and nothing is done about it. >> reporter: now shattered windows in new neighborhoods, this is from los angeles. car burglaries decreased in san francisco but increased in southern california. >> they're becoming savvy, know it's saturated out here, trying to find different areas in california more saturated with vehicles not expecting to be

burglarized. >> reporter: according to police detective, thieves can sell a bag of stolen property about $1,000 a pop. sfpd says this is still under investigation. kate larsen, abc7 news. san jose's willow glen neighborhood the newest hot spot for auto break-ins. found a trail of broken glass today. some newer, luxury models, others were older vehicles, all parked on quiet streets. police believe organized crime groups are looking for looting to sold overseas. part of building a better bay area includes the environment, if you have gas-powered blower or mower, may make a change. >> state is considering a ban to reduce pollution. >> novato, the latest city
