$250,000 of campaign funds for personal use. prosecutors accuse hunter of using the cash to pursue affairs with lobbyists and aides. the hunters face a prison sentence of 8 to 14 months. sentencing is set for march 17th. developing news in iran where protests are mounting. iran yian zit sen zit se zit sen streets after iran admitted to shooting down a plane. megan tersargsyan has more. >> reporter: thousands of protesters on the streets of iran shouting anti-government slogans after the admission that they accidentally shot down that ukrainian passenger plane mistaking it for a missile. killing all 176 people on board.

just last week, iranians were united protesting the u.s. after the killing of qassem soleimani. now iran's unity weakened in a sudden reversal. protesters tearing down posters of the slain leader, and on this day president trump offering support to the iranian people tweeting in two languages saying, my administration will continue to stand with you, and later sending a tweet aimed at the leaders in iran. do not kill your protesters. the world is watching. more importantly, the usa is watching. turn your internet back on and let reporters roam free. stop the killing of your great iranian people. here at home, trump insisting qassem soleimani was planning attacks against american embassies before he was killed in that drone strike, but defense secretary mark esper was asked on cbs if there was specific evidence of an imminent threat. >> i didn't see one with regard to four embassies. what i'm saying is i share the president's view that probably my expectation was they were going to go after our embassies. >> reporter: and a new abc news poll finds the majority of

americans, 56% disapprove of president trump's handling of iran. 43% approve. only 25% of those surveyed report feeling safer after the strike. it's a big day in a california court for gig economy workers. >> assembly bill five bill fivee freelancers as employees entitled to benefits. uber and the trucking association sued to stop it. a federal judge issued a temporary restraining order against ab5. a judge will consider blocking the law while other lawsuits are settled. today marks the start of the jpmorgan health care conference. it comes on the heels of a convention booker's conference that was in ton last week. the city poured extra resources including police, public works

crews and 400 volunteers to spruce up the area. the city took a big blow when oracle announced it is moving its open world convention to las vegas. a sonoma county supervisor is calling out county staff over poor communication when it comes to cleaning up a homeless camp in santa rosa. the press democrat reports shirley zane criticized the rollout of a program that clean up the joe rodata trail. on friday the county announced the addresses of homes it may buy to house 226 people living on the trail. zane says the county didn't do enough to inform neighbors in the areas. she said she should have had final approval of outreach to the public. developing news, millions of people are cleaning up after a massive and deadly storm hit parts of the south. more than a dozen tornadoes touched down from texas to south carolina killing at least 12 people. some twisters had winds topping 130 miles per hour. much of the south is expected to

quarterback aaron rodgers and the packers this sunday at levi stadium in the nfc championship. patriots wide receiver julian edelman will be in court in april. he was arrested saturday in beverly hills. police say he damaged a parked car when he jumped on the hood. he was cited for misdemeanor vandalism and released. the patriots have not made any comment. oakland native and former raider marshawn lynch is giving financial advice for younger players in the nfl. he came out of retirement to help seattle make a playoff run. instead of talking about the seahawks loss yesterday, he took the time during his postgame interview to talk about money or chicken as he puts it. >> there's a time for a lot of young dudes, they not be taking care of their chicken right. why y'all in it, take care of your bread, so when you're done you can take care of yourself.

north. lake port and yucaipa, that storm will keep your temperatures down. tonight, low to upper 40s. nothing too chilly. a few scattered showers left over by tomorrow's commute. 7:00, you can see our best chance of showers near the coast and out over the ocean. heading to 5:00, we have light rain developing as the storm first comes in. we have an upslope on to the mountains as the wind comes out of the southwest just briefly. the cold front rolls through, you can see the scattered light and a few moderate showers, then it turns over to light as we head through the rest of the overnight hours. 7:00 in the morning, scattered light showers. that will continue throughout the day. we'll receive less than 0.2 inches of rain out of this system. wednesday into thursday, a half inch to an inch of rain is possible. especially during the commute thursday morning. friday and sunday will be nice. about 62 degrees for the nfc

a group of moms is asking for supporters to join them at a west oakland home as they face eviction. on friday a judge ordered the group moms 4 housing out of the home. wedgewood properties is offering to move the moms out and cover two months of shelter and assistance. the women have declined that offer. the sheriff's office says deputies will enforce the eviction. >> i think these ladies are trying to bring a broader scope of the housing crisis in oakland. >> the women stole the house. it's time for them to leave. we're hoping they leave in a voluntary and peaceful manner. it's the right thing to do. >> supporters are asked to show up at 6:00 this morning and each morning this week. governor newsom is kicking off a week-long tour focusing on homelessness. he earmarked $1 billion in the upcoming state budget proposal to tackle the issue. the tour will put newsom face-to-face with people
