abc7 news app. clash on the campaign trail between two of the top democratic presidential candidates centers around a meeting in 2018 when elizabeth warren and bernie sanders talked about working together to beat president trump. >> let's bring out my friend, bernie sanders. >> they are two of the icons for progressives but there are cracks in the friendship between senators elizabeth warren and bernie sanders. warren has confirmed the two met in december of 2018 to discuss the 2020 election. ended it by saying quote among the topics that came up, what would happen if democrats nominated a female candidate. i thought a woman could win, he disagreed. sanders is denying it, saying it's effort to affect the iowa caucus. sanders campaign gave volunteers talking points criticizing warren. >> i was disappointed to hear that bernie was sending his

police corporal went beyond the call of duty to get a man back on his feet, into much-needed pair of work boots. amanda del castillo. >> reporter: compassion on campus, rafael vargas, started with unusual site. >> cadets doing normal patrol, saw someone who looked like they were sleeping under bushes. went to make contact with this gentleman. >> reporter: met a man named steel, colorado native, homeless, looking for work. >> wanted to work. needed means to do so. saw the opportunity. why not? >> reporter: vargas had his i.d. and social security number but didn't know much more. needed work boots. came to big 5. >> drove him up, had him try them on, drove him back to the
