talk about a witness trade is off the table. i'm elizabeth hur for abc7 news. now at the live desk a blow in the firefight in australia. three american firefighters who were helping abroad died when their plane crashed. the water tanker crashed earlier today in the snowy menero region of south wales. australian officials have released little information about the crash victims. they say the plane crashed, a large fire -- when the plane crashed, a large fireball flared up in the wildfire. it's been difficult to get to the scene. the canadian-owned company also helped to fight last year's wildfires in california. >> that's heartbreaking. developing news on the coronavirus outbreak, sfo and other u.s. major airports are not only screening international travelers for the virus but also handing out flyers to raise

awareness. a new strain of the coronavirus infected more than 500 people, killing at least 17 in china. the city of wuhan is on lockdown. overnight health officials confirmed the first case in hong kong. the world health organization met yesterday to discuss the outbreak. for now leaders have postponed calling it a global health crisis. there's a delay in the effort to relocate a group of homeless people off the joe rodota trail in santa rosa. they were supposed to start moving to a sanctuary camp yesterday. sonoma county pushed it back to sunday because the site is not ready. officials say they will meet the county's january 31st deadline for clearing the trail. cash bail now afrancisco. district attorney chesa boudin ended that practice yesterday. from now on decisions about whether a suspect is released before trial will be based on the risk assessment. >> we will never put a price tag

let's look at how much rain is possible out of the system. we'll start mainly with what's going on tomorrow. today will be pretty quiet. as we roll through friday and into saturday, the greatest amount of rain up to a half inch in the north bay. the least amount of rain in livermore, fremont, the south bay less than a tenth of an inch. i'll give you a timeline coming up next. >> thank you. pg&e has gotten support for its restructuring plan from key bondholders. they've been pushing for a

different plan than the one pg&e was proposing. the company announced yesterday all sides reached a settlement. the deal clears a major hurdle for pg&e to emerge from bankruptcy. governor newsom still has reservations. he says the restructuring plan doesn't meet the requirements of a new wildfire law. he says it falls short in several areas including transparency and safety another national retail chain is closing its stores. caparas is shutting down its stores and laying off 1400 workers. they have 14 stores in the bay area. they say they failed in their effort to adjust to the reality of today's shopping environment. the website is now pushing a 20% off sale. clothing retailer express is also closing up shop in cities around the country. the company is closing about 100 of its 630 stores as part of a restructuring plan. this move comes just days after express announced it was laying
