developing breaking traffic news in san mateo this morning. again, abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield is on the way here. i was able to read what the chp is putting into our log about the injuries here. it does not sound good. we do know at least four people were involved in this crash. not clear on the amount of vehicles. could just be one car. this is northbound 101 at the peninsula avenue off-ramp. the off-ramp is shut down now. avoid this area. bringing you up to our mass transit, ace 1 on a 13-minute delay. we start this half hour with the newest developments on the coronavirus. >> china reports a new case of the virus showed up in hong kong. chinese state media report the city of wuhan has shut down all outbound flights and trains as the city of 11 million people remain on virtual lockdown. 17 people are dead and there remains one case in washington

state, a patient in seattle is in isolation. >> julian glover continues our coverage now from sfo joining us live with the precautions that airport officials there are taking to stop the spread of the virus to the people in the bay area. >> that's right. good morning. if you're coming to sfo, we expect new additional signs to be up warning people of the potential dangers of the new coronavirus. it was just last weekend that sfo was one of the first airports in the country that began screening passengers traveling from wuhan for the coronavirus and now we expect this new notice to be posted at airport terminals at sfo and 13 other airports across the country. the flyer you will see posted at the airport warns if you travel to wuhan, not to touch animals, handle animals or be near sick people. and if you get sick within two weeks of leaving the area to contact a doctor and tell them you visited the area right away.

that's what the passenger being monitored at a seattle hospital did. the flyers will warning people not to travel if you get sick. all of this as medical experts work to figure out how contagious this virus is. >> scientists are trying to figure out the extent of human to human transmission and how contagious it really is. it seems to be on the lower end of the illness spectrum, but it's still early. >> again, the new flyers will be posted in terminals at sfo and 13 other airports across the country as medical experts try to raise awareness about the new coronavirus. medical experts now are saying it is the time for vigilance, not anxiety or panic but just making sure everyone is aware of the spread of this new virus. reporting live outside of sfo, julian glover, abc7 news. it is day two of opening statements in president trump's impeachment trial.

surveillance video after they say multiple people opened fire i the busiest part of downtown killing one person and wounding seven others. police say the shooting happened after a dispute outside a mcdonald's around 5:00 yesterday. the victims were found within about a one-block radius. a woman in her 40s died. the youngest victim is a 9-year-old boy. the police chief does not know how many shooters were involved or if any of the people hurt were among the shooters or a part of the argument. this was the third shooting in downtown seattle in a little more than 24 hours. >> thank you. new details in an officer-involved shooting in livermore that we brought to you as breaking news yesterday morning. livermore police say that this is the man who drove a car towards two officers and a dui suspect. officers ultimately shot and arrested matthew kelly, now he's being treated for a single quun shot wound to his leg. this started before 3:30

yesterday morning near airway boulevard off of interstate 580. officers say kelly started driving towards them as they were about to perform a field sobriety test. no word on why. affordable housing and transportation are two key components of our effort to build a better bay area. on the peninsula, members a floating community in redwood city are fighting to save their home. city leaders say docktown marina's location is not zoned for residential use. without an official plan in place residents say they're being kicked out without options. here is amanda del castillo. >> reporter: isolated, ignored deserted how the remaining residents of docktown are feeling as more floating homes are being removed and some razed. >> it's gentlemen sad to see affordable housing being crushed. >> ed has been a resident here since 1986. >> in my particular situation, i'm on a retirement income and

it's not quite enough to represent a house in silicon valley. >> he's standing with the rest of downtown's dwindling community in the battle against redwood city. >> the feeling is we're not wanted here. >> reporter: dan and his family spent eight years here. he said trouble started with a lawsuit by a resident in a newly built condo across the arena alleging docktown violated laws. redwood settled the lawsuit saying it would provide assistance to boat owners. >> that's where things have gone downhill from there, which i suppose should have been a relocation plan instead of a displacement plan. >> many of the homes have resold to investors with the understanding that the live-aboards would be leaving the marina. a short distance away we found this demolition site. >> it's ripping out our heart. >> reporter: besides wanting the residents out, the city is taking away

4:30 on friday. light showers. you can see sonoma county coast up to mendocino county tomorrow is that's where they are and then falling apart. there's a return engagement late friday evening through saturday morning. those showers will turn to drizzle for saturday morning. saturday evening, you can see the yellows and the oranges, that's the moderate showers that will be moving through. you can see they're still around 11:30. scattered showers for sunday morning. rainfall amounts, heading throughout, you can see friday, up in the north bay, less than a tenth of an inch. they could go to a half inch, the rest of us around a quarter to a half inch out of the storm. my accuweather seven-day forecast, temperatures away from the coast holding on to the 60s until sunday. we'll drop back to the 50s. our next chance of rain will be a 1, light on the storm impact scale. that's until tuesday.

news reporter amy hollyfield live at the scene for us with more. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. look behind me at this suv, it crashed head on into that concrete barrier, this is here at airport boulevard in san mateo. we know one person was killed. others in the suv were taken to the hospital. there were a total of four people in the car. it happened before 4:00 this morning. the off-ramp to airport boulevard on the northbound side of highway 101 is closed. authorities have the intersection here shut down too while they conduct their investigation. they're behind the tape right now working the se. they're pretty far from us right now. so they have not released any more information. we wanted to get you these images of what is happening here and give you the heads up that this area is closed down right now. we'll get you more details as soon as we can. reporting live in san mateo, amy

know if any new witnesses will be called, but senate minority leader chuck schumer says any talk about a witness trade is off the table. i'm elizabeth hur for abc7 news. now at the live desk a blow to the firefight in australia. three american firefighters who were helping abroad died when their plane crashed. the water tanker crashed earlier today in the snowy menero region of new south wales. australian officials have released little information about the crash victims. they say when the plane crashed, a large fireball flared up in the wildfire. it's been difficult to get to the crash site. according to the "new york times," coleson aviation operated the plane. the canadian-owned company also helped to fight last year's wildfires in california. democratic presidential candidate tom steyer will be in the east bay to unveil his plan to reform the criminal justice system.

former inmates will join steyer at the up and under pub and grill at 11:00 a.m. they'll discuss his plan for building a more inclusive criminal justice system. tomorrow night steyer will take part in a town hall in san francisco with the latino caucus immigrant democratic club at the women's building on 18th street. there's a delay in the effort to relocate a group of homeless people off the joe rodota trail in santa rosa. they were supposed to start moving to a sanctuary camp yesterday. sonoma county pushed it back to sunday because the site is not ready. officials say they will meet the county's january 31st deadline for clearing the trail. cash bail now a thing of the past in san francisco. district attorney chesa boudin ended that practice yesterday. from now on decisions about whether a suspect is released before trial will be based on the risk assessment. >> we will never put a price tag on freedom because it undermines public safety by allowing wealthy people who are dangerous to buy their way out and it also

the department of public health is launching a color coded placard system for all food facilities. it goes into effect this spring. green means the restaurant passed inspections. yellow is a conditional pass. red means the restaurant failed. an old fire station in fremont can be yours for just a dollar and, yes, there's a catch. the you have to move it. there are plans to redevelop the area around fire station number 6 with rental apartments and retail space. the developer came up with a couple plans. one would incorporate the firehouse into the new project and the other one would demolish it. the general consensus was to not to include the firehouse. so the city council has asked the developer to try selling it. bidding is open for the next two months. a man who lived in fremont for decades explains why the firehouse should be preserved. >> the only thing we really have in life are our memories and
