build a 1,000 bed hospital in six days. that hospital will be dedicated to treating coronavirus patients. here in the u.s., a student in texas and another student in tennessee had developed mild systems. they're being tested for the virus. a traveler who landed at l.a.x. wednesday night was hospitalized as a precaution. as we told you earlier, a man from washington state became the first confirmed case in the u.s. it's a disease health officials worldwide are watching. >> thank you. even though there are no confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the bay area, officials are not letting their guard down. >> alameda county is doing what it calls of aggressive testing of anyone with symptoms who may have traveled to wuhan, china. amy hollyfield is live at sfo where officials are also testing people. >> yes, they're on high alert at airports and hospitals and they're testing in alameda county. this is a brand-new virus

we've got a beach hazard statement for the long period, northwest swells. the northwest beaches will be the most likely affected by the large breakers. everybody needs to be aware of the risk of rip currents and the sneaker waves. it's not the size of the waves that will be the issue. it's the fact they're so large, the breakers, they'll run up on the shore. if you have your back turned to it, they could knock you over and the rip currents could pull you out. we'll talk more about the rain coming up this weekend. san francisco is converting a three-story building into transitional honde aa aal homin. it is estimated that 1 out of every 2 transgender people in san francisco experience homelessness because of discrimination and harassment.

mendocino county. we keep getting side swiped by these weak disturbances to our north battling the high pressure to the south. tonight, if you're heading out really late up in the north bay, a chance of light rain. it falls apart. we wake up to fog tomorrow morning. again, tomorrow afternoon, a chance of light rain across the north bay during the afternoon. it fizzles in the evening. the big storm comes in overnight while most of us are sleeping. by 9:00 sunday morning, it's over. look at the cloud cover evaporate. we'll see more sunshine sunday than we've seen the last couple of days today and tomorrow that will keep temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s. rainfall amounts not very good with the 1 on the storm impact scale. a couple hundredths up in the north bay, a tenth to a third of an inch for the rest of us by sunday morning. jo jobina. >> live look at the san mateo bridge. things are looking good as people make their way towards the peninsula.
