>> santa clara is working with health departments and the cdc to learn everything they can about the virus then passing the information quickly to local health care providers. san francisco's department of health holding their own press conference to send a message of vigilens to the public. >> if they have traveled in the past 14 days and developed fever or respiratory systems or coughing or shortness of breath. call their provider ahead of time. >> at the santa clara county fair grounds preparations are in force for the lunar new year celebrations. one of the many in the bay area. at the tech festival about 10,000 expected to attend. one vendor cancelled because of concerns over the virus. and organizers say they are preparing guests. >> if people come here make sure you wash hands ever he minute and cover your mouth. >> dr. cody says there is no reason to cancel public

classes are in english. he wants to turn this positive by inviting families and neighbors to talk about it. also in san rafael new signs around the city raised eyebrows appear to discourage panhandling. our reporter lorin martinez explains why city officials say there is a better way to help those living on streets. >> the sign itself is explicitly saying, please give inside, don't give on the street to people asking for money. >> the city of san rafael now has 10 of these sign that discourages from you giving loose change to pan handlers at the bottom a phone number. >> there is a hotline number we created so people can call to get help. but also for the public if they want to get involved find out how to get involved. >> in 2016 the city installed purple meters where change from there goes to an organization giving non-cash stipends to those homeless. these signs are another way to direct money towards charity. some think it goes too far.

and we will be looking at not only mild temperatures today. lets look at san jose for the week ahead. average highs about 59 degrees. today with the cloud cover, the moisture in the mid-60s. we have a cold front passing through tonight. that will drop off the temperatures for sunday. and then they go up and up and by the end of the week, yup you see that right. upper 60s to near 70s as we get into the end of the work week and that means the rest of the bay area also will be nice and mild. and in fact, not very much like you expect in february. although we have have had dry and mild februarys of course. golden gate bridge, very foggy. this is not the only place in fact we have fog from the east bay to south bay. live doppler 7. there is some mist and drizzle out there. but right now a lot of mid-and high level clouds. and the front still far off shore we are looking at cloud cover west of us. once again when we have the passage of the cold front we'll begin to stour out the clouds

tomorrow. but the front doesn't come in until late tonight into early sunday. light to moderate rain is what you expect a level 1 system. less than 0.2 for most and half inches in the north bay hills. we're not looking at much in the south bay, east bay. the north bay will see the most. 54 in san mateo. a mild 5 5 in napa. napa. 48 in livermore. looking at the visibility in miles just over a mile petaluma. less in santa rosa and on the coast. and hayward now just poefr a mile. livermore at six miles. san jose still at three mimes. and another look here at the airport, san jose, it's certainly areas of patchy dense fog this morning. the light storm arrives late tonight, early tomorrow but if we're at the afternoon the warm front arrives and that will bring scattered showers. mainly dry and mild throughout the next work week. unfortunately don't have any systems on the way. we have had a beach hazard statement in effect.

and this continues until 11:00. here are the current wave heights from sonoma to monterey, the possibility of sneaker waves and rip current out there. once again, dangerous conditions. and we'll watch the warm front approach the north bay later on today. as we go through the rest of the afternoon, we're mostly try. but some scattered showers from sonoma up to the north. maybe along the coast. this is 3:30. that's the warm front. then here comes the cold front moving through the overnight hours we could goat moderate rain 3:00, 4:00 in the morning and then pushes through. the clouds dissipate and we are in for a nice sunday afternoon. here are the amounts. not very much. the north bay picking up maybe a quarter inch. a tenth down in san francisco. a couple hundredths getting towards mountain view and san jose. even ben lomond may be 0.08. in the next seven days the rain again for the pacific northwest. through santa rosa. this is seven days maybe a third inches san francisco. maybe a tenth and that could do

this is abc 7 mornings. good morning, everyone. it's saturday, january 25th. i'm liz kreutz we have a lot to get to this morning li morning. but lets look at the weather. hey, liz, good morning to you. hi, everyone. lots of clouds out there and dense fog around the bay. we have a lot of moisture in the atmosphere right now. you could even be seeing mist and drizzling. the cold front moves in l the bay area mainly while you are sleeping. but a lot of moisture in the atmosphere, so the warm f way c in the afternoon. a quarter mile visibility in hayward. getting worse around the bay and the north bay over a mile. five miles in san jose. the dense fog with us for the morning hours as well as the mild temperatures. mainly in the 50s upper 40s in the inland east bay. through the afternoon lots of mid-high level clouds. mild temperatures and the level 1 system late tonight, liz. >> thank you, developing news in the south bay. zm
