world. fans at the australian open wore his jerseys yesterday. in the bay area, tributes are pouring in for kobe bryant as well especially from basketball fans. >> cornell barnard talked to fans at chase center in san francisco. >> it literally makes me want to cry right now. >> reporter: anthony didn't want to believe the news. he lives in san mateo but grew up in l.a. watching nba all-star kobe bryant play amazing basketball. >> kobe was that one person i always had respect for. like no matter what he did or how he played, you respect his game. >> reporter: outside the chase center, warriors fans paid respect to bryant and his 13-year-old daughter gianna who died in a helicopter crash in l.a. >> it's devastating for his family. i'm incredibly sad even though i grew up a warriors fan, i still respect the guy. >> as an opposing opponent you always hated him. but he was always respectable. you see the greatness in the player that he is.

at ulta beauty at the gateway plaza in vallejo. the suspects led officers on a chase across the carquinez bridge and then into oakland. the car crashed into another car at 105th and breed avenue. the three suspects ran from the car. officers caught and arrested them. the chp did recover stolen property from the car. it's unclear what the suspects took exactly. california's now two confirmed cases of the coronavirus, one in orange county and another in los angeles county. that brings the total number of people sick with five across the united states. >> in china, 80 people have died, 2700 people are sick. the state department is organizing a special flight to sfo to get americans out of the chinese city hit hardest by the virus. lauren martinez has that. >> l.a. county confirmed the first case of coronavirus

infection. >> reporter: sunday morn l.a. county health officials held a press conference regarding the latest case of the novel coronavirus in california. >> everything worked as it should. the patient presented for care. the patient was immediately transported to a hospital, and the patient has remained in the hospital. >> reporter: officials say the patient is not an l.a. county resident but a traveller from wuhan, china. sfo and jfk are the only u.s. airports with nonstop flights from wuhan. the state department released a notice saying that in a single flight, they will relocate people at the u.s. consulate in wuhan and as many private u.s. citizens as they can out of china and directly to sfo. international passengers say the virus is not worth worrying about. >> we are not traveling to china or whatever, but for our own safety. >> reporter: maria and her family are heading back home to sydney, australia, all with masks. >> extra precautions. that's right. we have kids in here, so we have to.

away from officers as they were trying to arrest him friday. police say magee punched a woman in the head as she was sitting in a parked car last monday. when an officer approached him, he sped away, drove on to the sidewalk and then killed a homeless woman. police say magee is armed and dangerous. he also has outstanding warnsras in contra costa county for burglary. a san francisco supervisor will call on the city's largest owner of rent controlled housing to pause the sale of 76 apartment buildings. the supervisor wants to put the sale on hold for 60 days so the city can consider making some of the properties affordable housing. he also wants to make sure no one gets displaced. the i-team looked into the relationship of veritas to the city and tenants. more than 100 tenants filed suit against the company last year. they say they targeted long-term residents to drive them out of
