is also a warning about counterfeit items. >> julian glover is live in miami's famed south beach with a look at that. >> good morning to you. things are picking up on south beach. fans are even picking up at this early morning hour. you have the cheefs and tiefs a 49ers who will be playing on the first sunday in february for the super bowl. you have fans looking to get a piece of history in the form of merchandize and trying to score tickets if they don't have one, that's why officials are warning to be on the lookout for fakes, both merchandise and tickets. you have to be on the lookout, miami police and homeland security say crooks are working overtime to trick fans, warning them to stay away from the stuff being sold on street cornerers and outside big events. the best way to do it is to purchase gear from official shops and stores.

welcome back. part of building a better bay area means finding ways to help the homeless. kaiser and the city of oakland are teaming up with operation dignity to provide temporary housing for 50 people. they've been living along an encampment in north oakland at mosswood park. about 30 people have already been placed into temporary housing. the non-profit will also provide support services and help them find more permanent housing. we want to hear your ideas about building a better bay area, share them by joining our better bay area group on facebook. shakira and j. lo say they're ready to rock the super bowl after time show. the singers gave fans a preview of what they can expect on sunday.

make for a gorgeous evening in miami. upper 60s to mid 60s. for sunday, a sliver of moisture at about 4,000 feet. a random shower sunday morning, it's so random and slight, i didn't put a storm impact scale on it. 7:00, cold front rolling through. it washes away the clouds. winds pick up around 15 to 25 miles per hour, gusting 30 to 50 in the higher elevations. you can see a slight chance of a shower as the sunsets in the north bay. get ready for those freezing temperatures monday morning and possibly tuesday morning with highs only in the mid to upper 50s those days. 60s return wednesday and thursday. here's jobina. >> 6:20 right now. good news for anyone following this crash in san mateo. it has cleared. it was between three vehicles blocking one lane initially. this is northbound 101 before dore avenue. you can expect a delay just because of the backup in the area. it's slow on the san mateo bridge right now. people are making their way westbound towards the peninsula.

more people are flying through mineta san jose airport. the airport served a record high number of passengers last year. nearly 15.7 million travelers visited the airport in 2019. that's a 9% increase from the previous year. southwest and alaska airlines have increased service to mineta. city officials are considering building a third terminal. an unusual request for zoo animals in england. >> apparently the tigers, lions and leopards have a thing for perfume. for some reason calvin klein perfume is a huge hit with the cats at the zoo. the strong scents help to enrich the animal's environments and investigating the smells keeps the big cats mentally and physically active. the zoo says it is running low on perfume so it's asking visitors to drop off old or unwanted scents. >> i probably have some ck 1 from 1997 they could have.

the bridge but you will run into foggy conditions there. you can see the fog on the golden gate bridge. those headlights are making their way into the city. clear as far as traffic is concerned but some low spots of visibility. antioch to hercules, 33 minutes. highway 4 to the maze, 18 minutes. highway 85 to the san jose airport, 8 minutes. reggie and kumasi? >> thanks. now to the breaking news we've been telling you about this morning, a dramatic rescue at a san francisco gas station after a fiery crash. this happened hours ago near 19th avenue next to san francisco state. abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield has been there throughout the morning watching the progress they've made. amy? >> hi, reggie. they towed the car out of here, but look at the aftermath of where the car crashed. it destroyed this metal box. it's actually a key part of the operations here at this chevron gas station. this gas station is shut down it is not able to operate.

they cannot pump gas here. we're at junipero serra and 19th. all they can do is sell items out of their store there. no gas now able to be pumped out of here. so they'll lose a lot of business today. firefighters got the call around 3:00 in the morning that a car had hit a building. when they got here they found it wasn't a building, it was this structure on the chevron property. there was a fire. they were also worried about a gas leak. they had 33 firefighters here on the scene trying to put out the fire, monitor the air for threats and rescuing the driver. they had to cut the roof off to get to him. the chief explained what it is he hit here at this chevron. >> that structure is part of the system that controls the vapors when you fill your car. it with draws the vapors that are being pumped out of the tank. that's part of that system. it did provide us with a little extraage

as they rescued the driver. >> the driver was conscious and he was talking to them while they were rescuing him. he was taken to the hospital. they did not say what his condition was. he did survive this crash. they are vagt whethinvestigatin he was under the influence at the crash. an amazing scene here at this chevron. amy hollyfield, abc7 news. this morning, the u.s. state department is warning citizens not to travel to china after a record number of coronavirus deaths in 24 hours. >> the coronavirus death toll stands at 213, all in china. 9700 cases are reported there. the world health organization declared a global public health emergency and the state department issued that do not travel warning and said u.s. citizens currently in china should consider leaving. san francisco-based

levis closed half of its stores in china, including in wuhan. that's the epicenter of the epidemic. starbucks closed about half of its china locations. in the u.s., there are six confirmed cases of coronavirus, including the first person to person infection. a man in illinois caught the virus from his wife. there are two cases in southern california, one in washington state, one case in arizona. abc7 news talked to one woman who just arrived from shanghai. she said china is doing what it can to take action against the coronavirus outbreak. >> the government did a lot to control the situation. i feel like it's under control. >> there are no cases in the bay area, but it's affecting people. san francisco is going ahead with the chinese new year parade. events in palo alto and oakland have been canceled as a precaution. the company that owns the helicopter owned in the crash that killed kobe bryant, his daughter and seven others is suspending its helicopter operations.

island express is not saying why. the "new york times" is reporting that the chopper wasn't even legal to fly in poor visibility. weather is just one of the factors that the ntsb is focusing on in their investigation. the lakers are planning a tribute to the victims when the team returns to the court tonight. this will be the first time since the crash. the city of los angeles is planning a memorial but no date or location has been set. university of miami. in the east bay, a suspect in a deadly hit and run is in custody. berkeley police say 29-year-old alexander magee ran over a woman two weeks ago. investigators say a collision at university avenue and 6th street happened as he sped away from a uc police officer. the officer had approached magee's car after seeing a woman inside screaming for help. investigators say magee took a turn wide, drove on to the woman. state regulators are cracking down on pg&e's public safety power shutoffs. according to the chronicle, the head of the commission said she found serious deficiencies.
