>> yes, they did, but they had to wait until late in the fourth quarter to start celebrating. until then, it appeared the san francisco 49ers were going to win it. >> chiefs are super bowl champions here in miami. >> reporter: this morning, the kansas city chiefs are super bowl champs for the first time in 50 years. quarterback patrick mahomes leading his team to a stunning come-from-behind win over the san francisco 49ers. ♪ the rockets red glare demi lovato singing the national anthem. the powerful performance being compared to whitney houston. hard rock stadium was packed with celebrities. beyonce and jay-z were there. sir paul mccartney too. star power exploded at halftime. shakira started the high energy celebration showing the world those hips really don't lie. >> miami, are you ready? >> reporter: then it was j. lo's turn. ♪ i'm still jenny from the block ♪

kicking it off with "jenny from the block," those patriotic flares, the puerto rican and american flags, making a political statement, using images of children in cages. mahomes not ready to quit even after back to back interceptions, leading k.c. to one touchdown. >> first and goal. pass, touchdown. chiefs are back in. >> reporter: and then another. >> mahomes, throws, pass caught. williams, touchdown. >> reporter: and the third td all in the final six minutes. a first super bowl title for veteran head coach andy reid and mahomes, the 24-year-old qb named super bowl liv mvps. >> the leaders on this team, they have that mindset we're never going to give up and we'll fight until the end. >> reporter: a fight for kansas city, half a century in the making. mahomes bringing it home. i had to. that show getting a lot of attention this morning. much more later on "the pulse," and what j. lo's daughter had in that big performance.

and we turn now to the worldwide effort to contain the coronavirus. the illness confirmed in at least 23 countries including the philippines where the first death outside of china has been reported. overnight medical workers in hong kong went on strike demanding officials close their shared border with china, and now the u.s. is taking drastic measures to curb this spread after doctors confirmed more cases in california. >> reporter: this morning, the door is closed for non-american travelers. >> no foreign nationals, non-u.s. citizens who have had contact with mainland china in the past 14 days will be permitted by the federal government to enter the united states. >> reporter: officials banning anyone without a u.s. passport from coming into the country if they have been to china amid the coronavirus outbreak, and putting new restrictions on citizens coming from the outbreak's epicenter. >> they will be subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine.

>> reporter: the ban coming as at least 11 cases of the virus have been confirmed in the u.s. and nearly 300 others in the country are suspected of being sick. the department of homeland security restricting flights from china with only 11 airports allowed to accept passengers headed for quarantine. >> i'm just getting a huge runaround. it's so frustrating. >> reporter: but caught in the middle of the new restrictions, some families who are not yet u.s. citizens. >> this is where the car was supposed to come in. >> reporter: justin is going to school in wuhan, china, where he lives with his wife and 1-month-old son. they are desperately trying to get on one of the evacuation flights set up for american families. the only problem? justin is the only one with a u.s. passport. >> america says if you don't have an american passport, or a passport with you, you cannot fly to america. >> reporter: after days of uncertainty and working with the american embassy, the family got a heart-wrenching answer.

>> we got the news that if we fly out on the 3rd that i would be able to go, and colton would be able to go. the problem is they won't allow ling to go, and since ling can't go, it's kind of a problem because why would you separate a 1-month-old baby from their mommy? they just gave us a flatout no. >> the cdc says they expect the number of cases here in the u.s. to go up even more, but they insist that people should go about their daily lives. just make sure to take precautions like washing your hands. now to the race for 2020 with the iowa caucuses just hours away. the voters set to have their first say in the crucial process of the primary season. >> the candidates spent their weekend making a final push for support.

fake explosive device stabbed two people in london during a terror attack. the suspect was fatally shot by police. the 20-year-old was just released from prison last week after serving time for terror-related offenses. he was also under police surveillance. another person was injured in the crossfire by shattered glass. time now for a look at your weather for this monday morning. a major storm is now moving through the rockies bringing heavy snow, strong winds and falling temperatures. it's already snowing in salt lake city. the snow is expected to start in denver just after the morning rush, but as much as 6 inches may fall, but the mile high city is only going to reach 29 degrees today, the same as minneapolis. seattle's high will be 42. chiefs fans there in kansas city dancing in the streets will see a high of 54. chicago will reach 40. dallas, and miami, 74 with new orleans not far below.

we are back with closing arguments beginning today in president trump's impeachment trial. now on the fast track after the senate voted to block new witnesses. >> the president is expected to be acquitted, but he is railing against the impeachment in a new interview ahead of tomorrow's state of the union address. abc's andrew dymburt has more from washington. andrew, good morning. >> reporter: kenneth, elizabeth, good morning. yeah, in just a few short days this will all be over, and the result is not really in doubt. we fully expect an acquittal.

we are back with new allegations against victoria's secret. the company is accused of fostering a toxic culture of harassment, misogyny and retribution at the expense of its models and employees. >> a "new york times" article says the disturbing behavior went on for years fuelled by the most powerful men in the company. ♪ look out because here i come >> reporter: victoria's secret's angels are known to dazzle on the runway, but this morning, a revealing look behind the scenes in an explosive investigation by "the new york times." allegations of an entrenched culture of misogyny, bullying and harassment. >> getting those coveted angel wings was a designation that could rocket them into international stardom, but that came at a cost. >> reporter: "the times" describing angels in hell after interviewing more than 30 current and former executives, employees, contractors and models of victoria's secret. according to the report,

71-year-old ed razek, a former top executive of the brand of the parent company played a central role in casting the angels and was the subject of multiple complaints of inappropriate touching and comments. >> anyone who complained or disagreed with ed razek were brushed aside, pushed out and ignored. >> reporter: razek telling abc news in an email, the accusat n accusations in "the times" story are categorically untrue, misconstrued or taken out of context, but other executives are saying that 82-year-old leslie wexner was aware of his pattern of bad behavior and was heard demeaning women. wexner's representative declined comment. victoria's secret's parent company does not dispute the reporting and a spokesperson expressed regret to abc news and tells us that the company is fully committed to continuous improvement and complete

accountability. onto the desperate search for a missing colorado boy, 11-year-old gannon stauch was last seen a week ago today. he left home to play at a friend's house located nearby, but investigators have few clues. the boy requires special medication which has heightened concerns for his safety. the fbi and hundreds of volunteers are helping with the search. jeff bezos is facing a new lawsuit this morning after his girlfriend's brother accused the billionaire of defamation. the suit stems from a "national enquirer" story a year ago when the tabloid printed text messages between bezos and his then-mistress. "the enquirer" at the time said the messages came from his brother. he is suing bezos for allegedly spreading the messages. bezos indicated he thinks saudi arabia was the culprit.

overseas, some of the world's biggest stars gathered in london for awards. brad pitt won for his role in quentin tarantino's "once upon a time in hollywood." pitt wasn't at the ceremony, but co-star margot robbie accepted on his behalf and the actor, no stranger to messy breakups made fun of brexit and the recent royal family drama. >> hey, britain. heard you just became single, welcome to the club. he says that he is going to name this harry because he is really excited about bringing him back to the states with him. his words, not mine, thanks. ♪ time to check "the pulse" this monday after the super bowl. let's start with halftime. >> the performance is already being called the best super bowl halftime show ever. shakira and jennifer lopez wowed the crowd singing and dancing up a storm. lady gaga tweeted that she, quote, danced and smiled the whole time. she and others used the words, incredible and impressive. >> the show also made a strong statement about latinos' place in america, and there was that incredible moment when j. lo's 11-year-old daughter took the mic. >> latinos. ♪ born in the usa, born in the usa ♪ ♪
