once you make it through the toll plaza, smooth sailing on the bridge. >> thank you. developing news in the east bay, for the second time in less than 24 hours, the chp is investigating freeway shootings. >> the first one happened in fremont around 3:00 in the morning yesterday. this was near the mowry on-ramp. the second occurred just before 11:00 last night near 23rd avenue in oakland. amy hollyfield is live at chp offices in hayward with details. good morning. >> good morning. i checked in with a chp officer, he said no arrests have been made in the cases. they are asking for witnesses to please come forward. the first one happened at the beginning of the day. it was 3:00 in the morning. they were both on 880. the second one happened at the end of the day. the first one was in fremont. officers say someone opened fire on a black bmw near the mowery on-ramp. it was just after 3:00 in the morning. the driver was able to safely get to a fire station. there were two bullet holes in

the car, but nobody was hurt. the second one happened 11:00 last night in oakland. this was northbound 880 at 23rd avenue. that car also has some bullet holes in it. the car was hit but no one was hurt. so two lucky situations in these cases. there was also one on sunday, so really there's been three this week. no word on motives or if any of these are related. reporting live at the hayward chp offices, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. we have dramatic video to share with you. a truck and shipping container caught fire at the port of oakland overnight with this dramatic video you can see here. flames engulfing the vehicle. it was parked inside a lot near middle harbor road. the driver was able to escape unharmed. oakland firefighters responded to the blaze quickly and

extinguished the fire. no one was hurt. the fire did not stop work at the port. no word on the cause of the fire. thanks. there's more fallout of the growing coronavirus outbreak. saudi arabia has banned citizens from traveling to china. it warns anyone who violates that won't be allowed back. two more planes carrying american evacuees from china will land in the u.s. today. they will arrive at military bases in nebraska and texas. all passengers will be quarantined for two weeks. at least 563 people have died from coronavirus in china. more than 28,000 are sick. a newborn in china is the youngest person to be infected. the infant tested positive just 30 hours after birth. the newborn's mom has coronavirus but it's not clear if the virus was passed on in the womb or after birth. in the u.s. there are 12 cases. one confirmed yesterday in wisconsin. this morning 178 americans are being quarantined at travis air force base after their plane from wuhan, china landed yesterday.

the chinese billionaire behind the project wined and dined nuru in a pay for play scheme to win city approval for the project. jurors will hear more testimony today in the trial of the man accused of stabbing b.a.r.t. passenger nia wilson to death. the jury watched surveillance video yesterday and it shows a man who police say is the suspect, john cowell, stabbing wilson and her sister from behind. it happened at the macarthur b.a.r.t. station in july of 2018. wilson's mom was in court and said she couldn't bear to watch the video. >> they didn't do anything, any didn't see him or react to him. pure evil. >> wilson's sister survived the attack and at one point the judge kicked cowell out of the courtroom because of outbursts. he was eventually allowed to come back in. google will be allowed to take part in the san francisco pride parade. organizers last night decided not to move forward with the ban on the tech company. sf pride members held a nonbinding vote last month to restrict the tech titans participation.
