no fog in this area. we have a fog advisory for the golden gate bridge. it does look good in comparison to the bay bridge. back to you guys. >> thank you. this morning the coronavirus outbreak is worsening. as of this morning more than 600 people have died. more than 31,000 are sick from the virus. >> two more flights carrying evacuees from china are arriving in the u.s. today. one landed at travis air force base in solano county around 3:00 this morning. this is the flight path from flight aware after refueling it will head to texas then to nebraska. another flight stopped in vancouver, canada. that one will land eventually in san diego. the cdc will test several passengers on board a royal caribbean cruise ship for coronavirus. the ship docked in new jersey early this morning. a federal official told our sister station wabc it's possible the sick passengers have the flu and not coronavirus, but they just want

to test them as an abundance of caution. people stuck on a quarantine cruise ship after the coast of japan are coming down with coronavirus. >> japan says they recorded 41 new cases of the virus and 8 of them are americans. the ship is under a 14 day quarantine. a utah couple stuck on board is talking about it this morning. >> inside, nothing has changed. we're still in our cabins and we're unable to leave our cabins. they're keeping it as safe as possible. >> they say it's scary to hear more people are currently getting sick. you can watch more of their interview coming up on "gma." that's at 7:00 after abc7 mornings. 16 labs in california will start providing corona tests that can give more rapid results starting next week. right now there's 12 confirmed cases in the u.s. cornell barnard spoke with some students who have family in china. >> lots of people buying,

>> seven presidential hopefuls will square off on that debate stage tonight. you can watch it right here on abc7 starting at 5:00 p.m. new details this morning. the san mateo sheriff's office says it wias a dog that killed pet chickens at a millbrae preschool over the weekend. investigators say someone vandalized the nursery school letting the coop open and the chickens got out. a specialized veterinarian determined the five chickens were killed by a dog. a stretch of a road in fremont once packed with rvs is now packed with boulders. crews started phase one of the plan to prevent semis and rvs from parking on the side of the road. they placed boulders on the side of the road. several businesses are located on cato road including tesla.

at the bay bridge toll plaza. there is a fog advisory for the bay bridge. i can tell you that once you make it through the toll plaza, your clear, there's no fog when you make it into san francisco. walnut creek, here is 680, nice, smooth ride. no fog in the area that i'm seeing or any traffic issues on the roadway. drive times are all green across the board and looking good. >> thanks. developing news in the effort to evacuate americans from china. another flight carrying coronavirus evacuees landed at travis air force base. >> the flight came directly from wuhan, china. the epicenter of the outbreak. the plane touched down at the military base about three hours -- just after 3:00 this morning to refuel. passengers are being screened for the virus before flying to texas and then their final destination in nebraska. anyone showing symptoms will be kept at travis and join the 178 other evacuees who came earlier this week and are now in quarantine. evacuees are being taken to

canada. this plane departed vancouver last night after refueling. this plane is headed to ontario, canada where passengers will spend 14 days under quarantine. another plane is stopping in vancouver this morning before coming to san diego. more travel restrictions are coming soon to keep the virus from spreading. by february 17th, sfo and mineta san jose airport will have no flights servicing china. this immigration china says more people with u.s. work visas are stuck overseas. >> we have a high-level executive stuck in china. he cannot come back. he is not a u.s. citizen, he's holding an l1 visa. >> he said many of his clients rely on visas for their work force and those companies will be impacted. two lunar new year celebrations in the bay area are still happening as planned.

jose fire department is investigating the cause of a house fire. neighbors say they heard an explosion before this home went up in flames it happened on north 18th street. the fire captain telling us the home was abandoned recently but one person was seen running from it while it burned. that person was taken to the hospital. no word on their condition. abc7 news is focused on the ways that people are building a better bay area, that includes addressing the housing crisis. the examiner is reporting that fsmta is considering building housing from muni operators on property it already owns. agency officials say they're dealing with an operator shortage that leaves muni buses undriven system-wise. they say they hope to build 525 housing units on bryant street and half of those units would be designated affordable housing. coming up, new details of the public memorial for kobe other victims of the helicopter crash. the very special meaning behind

evacuees lands at travis air force base overnight as a cruise ship comes into the east coast and officials are preparing to test everybody on board. good morning. it's friday, february 7th. >> we made it to the end of the week. we have a lot to talk about. we're waking up to fog right now. we have a live look from the east bay hills camera, you can see the fog creeping up into the bay this morning. we want to get you to meteorologist mike nicco who is tracking where the fog is now. good morning. >> good morning. thank you very much. hi, everybody. the fog is not staying in one place. it's actually moving around. when it hits napa and santa rosa, visibility down to a couple hundred feet. better in oakland, sfo and half moon bay at the reporting stations. i can tell you having driven through it, it's dangerously thick at times. you can see the wind flow, so it will push down into deeper into the bay as we head through the morning commute. it is starting to come over to san francisco from oakland as you can see from our exploratorium camera at pier 15. temperatures 38 to 45 this morning about the same as yesterday.
