shipments based on their passports. the world health organization today declared a global shortage of the masks and isolation gowns which are needed so badly in china's coronavirus outbreak. >> one bay area nonprofit has stepped up by dome it aing their stockpile of masks. >> 1.8 million procedure masks boxed and labeled in the san leandro warehouse. med share had them toward donate to the next big disaster and they say that disaster is coronavirus. there are also 200,000 yellow plastic isolation gowns badly need in the china. >> we had a flight out of oakland but got redirected out of chicago. we have a direct flight from chicago to shanghai. once it reaches shanghai, we have three other distribution partners on the ground ready to

drastic measures. anybody planning to travel to china or hong kong or macao 15 days from setting sail will not be allowed to board. people who have passports, we mentioned, they will not be allowed on those vessels. norwegian cruise line issued a travel ban of its own. much like royal caribbean, it is not allowing people with passports from those locations to get on its ships. you can see a lot of people taking these drastic measures here. in this case, it is anybody that has visited had within three days of their scheduled trip. >> a quarantined cruise ship is still sitting idle out of japan. 61 people have tested positive for the virus. thousands have been stuck in their cabins for days. cornell spoke to one local family. >> reporter: i just spoke with

julie choi in the last hour. she has no idea when she'll be able to leave that cruise ship. she said she totally understands how serious the situation is and she's feeling scared. >> we're in a foreign happened. we don't have the language. we just don't know what happened. we are so scared. >> reporter: julie choi from san francisco video chatted with us from her cabben where she's been quarantined the last two weeks. the shipment is anchored off the 60 peengs board the diamond princess have tested positive for the coronavirus. julie and her family are feeling fine but are taking precautions. >> so people are taking your temperature every day you leave your cabin? >> we take the temperature ourselves. >> reporter: she said everyone is going stir crazy. >> it is really a tough situation. because we are in an interior room which has no window. so the daylight, i don't see the

sunlight anymore. so every hour looks the same. when i wake up in the morning, it looks exactly like last night. it is really tough. after two days, i almost have anxiety attack. >> reporter: at the port of san francisco, new guidelines are coming for cruise ship passengers. >> we're working closely with our cruise line passengers and they are denying boarding to anyone who has traveled to an impacted area in the last 14 days. anyone who is sick or displaying soimts board, they notify the coast guard. >> reporter: the port says no shipments arriving here have visited the coronavirus impact area. as for julie choi, she said she's being allowed to leave her cab cabin, get this, every three days for a walk around the ship. she said she's running out of prescriptions, she has no toothpaste and she said the quarantine period for the cruise ship ends around february 19th but she's not sure she'll be able to leave then.

live in san francisco. abc 7 news. >> all right. thank you. families planning to visit china have been scrambling. >> david louie spoke with a san jose family and a travel agent joining us from the airport. >> we know business travel is almost year round. increasingly so for a vacation travel. that was the plan by one san jose family. the cancellation of flights across the pacific is creating diuption in those dream trims and triggering a lot of request for refunds. >> our most recent trip was to tokyo. >> her wall is missing two maps for the two disney parks she and her family to check off to say they've been to all of them of they were due to visit shanghai and tokyo in a week.
