now at 6:00 a.m., we're not in the clear yet. strong winds today could knock down more trees and power lines like we saw over the weekend. the high wind advisory expected to last through tomorrow in parts of the bay area. good morning. it's monday, february 10th. >> we're following breaking news of a house fire in oakland. we have your post oscars coverage, first we're checking in with mike because of that wind this weekend. >> we have good news. most of us are out of the wind advisory. the north bay mountains, diablo range have the potential for possible downed trees and power lines, hard to believe after yesterday's rains there could be anything weak enough to break or fall again.
6:01 am
it's still possible through 11:00 tomorrow morning. so we have another 24 or 29 hours of winds. we had a gust earlier this morning at 69 miles per hour. upper 40s and mid 50s in diablo and the mid 30s for the east foothills. sutro tower is bouncing a bit. down in the valleys, things are calmer and cooler in the 30s. some of us in the 40s to 50s. by noon, we'll be more homogeni homogenized, 51 to 56. the coast will still be in the upper 50s. not addres bad as yesterday. jobina? >> want to bring you to the south bay. an issue in san jose between a light rail train and a pedestrian. this is southbound 87 before the curtner avenue off-ramp. it looks like that pedestrian

that forced 12 homes to evacuate. one woman says her parents live across the street from where the majority of the trees fell. she ran to pick them up. >> when they called me, i don't think they were scared, but the big tree fell. >> when wires would come down, they would arc, start a small vegetation fire. we had at one point probably 20 calls backlogged with companies unable to respond because everybody was busy. >> reporter: a portion of higher avenue is still blocked off this morning. crews are working on picking up the trees, restoring power. we checked the pg&e outages map, hundreds of people are still without power in the castro valley area. pg&e says they expect power to be restored at some point today. liz kreutz, abc7 news.
6:04 am
at the live desk, i'm tracking the power outages that pg&e crews have been working to restore all night long. at this moment there are about 9,200 homes and businesses impacted. this utility pole came down in downtown sonoma. you can see who has been impacted the most by this map. in the oakland and san leandro area, if i tap here, it will zoom in and tell us here, about 524 customers have been effected. the green on the map means an outage is effecting less than 50 people. the red more than 5,000 people. customers in the east bay hills are taking the biggest hit now. not all of these outages are necessarily caused by weather. reggie and kumasi? >> thanks. we are taking to you breaking news in oakland.
