area. all of our stories are in one place, on our website, abc7news.com/better bay area. a public memorial was held today for three members of the altobelli family who were among those killed in kobe bryant's helicopter crash. the three were remembered in a service at angels stadium in anaheim. alyssa was a teammate of gianna bryant at kobe's mamba sport academy. her dad john was the long-time baseball coach at orange coast years. every time you look in the dugout, he's the face you've seen. now when you show up every day, he's not there. the hardest part is knowing that he won't be there again. >> john altobelli and his wife leave behind a 16-year-old daughter and john's 29-year-old son. a go fund me page for the family raised more than $350,000. to date, vanessa bryant posted this video showing her daughter gianna playing basketball with alyssa altobelli and peyton chester.

abc 7. these are the forecast features. gusty winds continue in the hills and the mountains. sunny and warm tomorrow afternoon with gradual cooling beginning midweek. it's going to get gradually cooler, not sharply cooler. we have a wind advisory in effect until 11:00 tomorrow morning for the north bay mountains. the wind out of the north, northeast, generally 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts ranging from 50 to 60 miles per hour at times. so there's still the possibility of downed trees and power lines and maybe outages. let's talk about how dry it's been. february 10th right now. we've seen no measurable rainfall. likely to continue for a while. we have a serious rainfall deficit in locations across the bay area. santa rosa, nearly a 7-inch rainfall deficit. san francisco 6 inches over a 6.5 inch deficit in oakland. san jose dry. under a 5 inch deficit.

the cliemgt prediction center says we can expect dry weather to continue. a 50 to 60% chance of below normal prapg. it basically means we don't expect rain. clear skies but windy conditions will persist in the hills although the wind will continue to get calmer at the surface. overnight lows will drop into the upper 30s and low 40s near the bay and coast. more mid to upper 40s. highs tomorrow once again in the low to mid-70s in the warmest inland locations. here is the seven-day forecast. begins to cool down a bit on wednesday with temperatures still quite a bit above average for this time of the year. then we get to friday, which is likely to be the coolest day this week. lovely valentine's day. so enjoy the weather. milder over the weekend and starts to cool down again on monday, which is veterans day. >> not veterans day. presidents' day.

a mission to the moon engineered in part by local nasa scientists could be getting a financial boost. abc 7 news was at the nasa research center in mountainview where they're working on a space launch system. there's a 12% funding increase to $25 billion to help support nasa's mission to the moon and mars within four arye s'the director of nasa ames estimates it could cost 35 billion. >> that's to get us back to the moon and also eventually sustainably to the moon. >> substantial investment, especially to meet the time lines that the administration has asked us to be. >> key goal is find ice at the south pole of the moon. that could provide water for th molecules to be turned into fuel. the word of the day is deals. for tonight's bay area business watch, xerox is raising its bid to buy hewlett-packard with

an east bay family is upset and speaking out after losing their beloved german shepherd to a christmas morning choking >> the family believes cora would be alive if their 911 call was routed to the right agency. >> laura anthony has the story from alamo which you'll only see here. >> she was three years old, still a big puppy. >> this woman and her daughters were set to open presents when the 3-year-old german shepherd cora started eating a ball. >> she tried to dislodge the ball and her daughter frantically called 9-1-1 on a cell phone, that went into the dispatch center at vallejo. >> dispatcher said they would not come out on a dog but were transferring her to animal control. >> an animal control employee
