>> the video of the incident is making a lot of us upset, especially the man's neighbors. amy hollyfield has more on this. >> people in that neighborhood are scared. the victim talked to us but he did not want to talk on camera. his uncle agreed to only if we blurred his face. this happened in the diamond neighborhood. the man was vacuuming his car in his own driveway when two men grab him, point a gun to the back of his head, force him to the ground and pat down his body. the victim said he took his phone, gold necklace and a bracelet. his uncle lives in the same building. his camera caught the attack. >> lucky he's okay. i know it's a scary moment for everybody. it can happen to any person around here. >> another neighbor's camera captured this image, that's the white sedan they believe that neighbors say it may be time to add more cameras to the street.

they want thieves to know that the street is covered with cameras ready to capture illegal activity. police tell us they're still investigating. no arrests have been made. amy hollyfield, abc7 news. track the primary election at live desk. this morning, it's official. senator bernie sanders has won in new hampshire with 26% of the votes. he narrowly beat pete buttigieg who got 24%. during his victory speech last night, sanders said this is the beginning of the end for president trump. >> our campaign is not just about beating trump, it is about transforming this country. warren, joe biden and tom steyer finished in the single digits. it's important to keep in mind that the primary race is about winning delegates not just the popular vote. senator sanders got more votes

than iowa and new hampshire, pete buttigieg has two more delegates than senator sanders. the democratic field just got smaller. two candidates just dropped out of the race, bennett and businessman andrew yang. >> you know i am the math guy, and it is clear tonight from the numbers that we are not going to win this race. my goal, when i first started running was to solve the problems thagot donald trump elected. in order to do that, i will support whoever is the democratic nominee. >> nine candidates are still in the running for the democratic presidential nomination. a lab in richmond is set to start their own coronavirus testing starting today. up until now everybody getting tested would have to have the results going to the cdc in atlanta. that process took up to a week. the cdc sent kits to 16 labs nationwide to speed up testing. the one in richmond is actually

amendment in november to create a department of street cleaning and sanitation. this is after the resignation of mohammed nuru who faces public corruption charges. in the east bay, students are taking action saying they want to change what they call a rape culture at berkeley high school. the superintendent says about 1,000 students walked out of class and marched to the district offices yesterday. they were invited to speak to school officials. >> we are here because we feel unsafe, we feel unheard, we are scared. we are all in the hallways trying to survive. the group is upset over the school's handling of the report of an attempted rape at berkeley high. stevens says the district plans to increase resources and support. a school board in the east bay will make a critical vote tonight to rename an elementary school after former first lady

welcome back. a candy store in san francisco's west portal neighborhood is closing after nine decades in business. shaws has a for rent sign in the window and almost everything inside is gone. the store was known for a wide variety of gourmet chocolates, popcorn, caramel corn and cotton candy. the highlight was the pez dispenser display in the front window. new at 6:00, too much sitting may trigger depression in teens, that's according to a new study. british researchers had 4,200 adolescents wear fitness trackers for ten hours a day for three days. they discovered that for every extra hour of sedentary behavior, the teens risk of

depression at age 18 rose by 11%. health experts say exercising releases feel-good endorphins. the study appears in the journal "the lancet." this is wild, perhaps one way to eat healthier is to follow more people on social media who live healthy lifestyles. a new study looked into the impact social media has on our eating habits. researchers in the uk surveyed nearly 400 college students about their diets. they also asked participants to guess friends diets based on what they posted online. participants ate slightly more fruits and vegetables than what they thought their friends ate and the same thing happens with junk food. the study found that facebook users consumed an extra portion of unhealthy snacks if they thought their friends also indulge. >> 90% of people in my instagram feed, it's gym selfie shirtless with the caption, ugh, feel so

[ crowd chanting ] new hampshire voters have spoken. senator bernie sanders wins the first in the nation primary. >> this victory here is the beginning of the end for donald trump. >> reporter: sanders had won new hampshire in 2016 by 22 points but this victory far closer edging out mayor pete buttigieg by only a few thousand votes. >> through a campaign that some said shouldn't be here at all has shown that we are here to stay. >> reporter: rounding out the top tier, senator amy klobuchar riding a late wave of support from her most recent abc debate performance, pushing a message of unity and sensibility. >> donald trump's worst nightmare is that the people in the middle, the people who have had enough of the name-calling and the mud-slinging have someone to vote for in november.

have in store. thank you very much. at its peak there were 29 major candidates running for the democratic presidential nomination. that is the highest number we've seen. only these nine candidates remain. so far biden, buttigieg, klobuchar, sanders and warren have qualified for next wednesday's debate, that is in las vegas. in new developments in the coronavirus health crisis the number of dead jumped to 1,015 worldwide. most of those people are in china. more than 45,000 people are infected with the disease but health leaders say the pace of the new cases seems to be slowing. the number of coronavirus cases in the u.s. is still at 13. the house committee will hold a hearing today on the outbreak. >> the deadly outbreak is now known as covid-19 by the world health organization. it's short for coronavirus disease 2019. 39 more cases are reported on a cruise ship near yokohama, japan. that brings the total to 174. at least 23 americans have become ill.

the u.s. postal service says it is having trouble sending letters and packages to china because most airlines suspended flights to china, hong kong and m macau. a palo alto woman quarantined after fears of contracting the virus will be reunited with her kids. >> she spent the last two weeks with her daughter at march air force base in southern california. julian glover is live in sunnyvale where they'll officially reconnect. julian? >> finally today happy news here. talk about a two-week quarantine that felt like a lifetime. we've been in the family of esther tebeka and her 15-year-old daughter and after finally being released from that federal quarantine in southern california, today the family will be renew reunited after mom picks up her kids here. esther's husband picked up her and her daughter on tuesday from march reserve air force base where 195 people evacuated from

from the newsroom with more on this. amy? >> the man said he is scared, thieves stole his phone, his gold bracelet and necklace. he says it is all worth about $5,000. look at this video. he's attacked in the middle of the day in front of his home. two men grab him, put a gun to the back of his head. they force him to the ground. they pat down his body and walk away. he was just out vacuuming his car. it was 1:30 on a monday afternoon. you can see the gun there. the victim, he didn't want to talk on camera. he's nervous. his neighbors are all telling us they're glad it was captured on camera and they hope the cameras will prevent future crimes. >> this is the worst thing that's happened probably in ten years. hopefully it will work for deterrence value first and foremost. and should there be a problem, we'll have a record of it. >> it was his camera that caught what neighbors believe is the thieves white sedan moments
