now from abc 7, live breaking news. right away breaking news out of el cerrito where a suspect was shot this afternoon. >> lauren martinez is at the scene, joining us live where the b.a.r.t police chief provided an update for us. lauren. >> reporter: b.a.r.t police chief ed alvarez just briefed us on what happened. he said just after 2:00 this afternoon two officers responded to a domestic disturbance call. apparently it was a verbal argument between a young man and a young woman. the call that was made said one of them possibly had a gun. when officers approached, apparently a chasten suee ensue.

a male ran out of the b.a.r.t train car on to tracks and that's when the shooting occurred. the man that was wounded is still alive. he was taken to the those by a helicopter. he does have life-threatening injuries. police say they did recover a gun at the scene. we heard from a witness who says she saw what unfolded. she said the victim was a young african-american man that was running from police officers through her b.a.r.t train. she did not want us to show her face. next thing i know the police officer and the young man, they came running through the cargo. as they were running through the cargo, they exited out of the train cargo, and that's when i poked my held out a little bit to see what was going on. and about seven to eight shots went off. they just shot the boy. >> reporter: another witness told us a girl was with the young man who was shot, and that she kept screaming and crying what his age was. apparently she kept saying, he's

they say the victims did not know the man who attacked them. police say this man wearing a cap and overall's is charged with attacking two women saturday morning. around 7:00 a woman running along the embarcadero was stabbed near pier 19. this tourist who spoke russian told us what she saw. [ speaking foreign language ]. >> reporter: she says, we saw the young woman on her knees. she had a knife in her upper back. she reenacted the attack for police officers and said the suspect was agitated and swearing. he took off on a bicycle. ten minutes later the same man is suspected of attacking another woman near pier 39 with some sort of tool. she was helped into an ambulance with a bandage on her head. police say the attacks were random. both victims will survive. >> it doesn't surprise me because san francisco is kind of getting that way. we have too many people out on the streets that are a little bit psychotic. >> reporter: william hall lives on the embarcadero.

he is concerned about the violence and has taken steps to protect himself. >> i don't know what the solution is. i know it is an issue and i carry pepper spray all the >> reporter: name of the suspect has not been released but we have just found out that he is facing two counts of attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest. live in san francisco, cornell barnard, "abc 7 news." >> scary stuff, cornell. thanks. in the east bay pittsburg police are investigating a deadly shooting. a body was found last night at woodland hills park and we first got word of a possible shooting at 7:30 last night. the victim is identified as a 21-year-old man. his name has not been released. investigators say the suspect shot the victim, ran to a compact car and drove away. new at 5:00, someone vandalized the historical park on 34th avenue in oakland. the park shared a few photos of the damage including a new adobe oven that was damaged.

this has led to delaying a community feast it had plan. graffiti was scrawled all over a rock. developing news now with the coronavirus. the u.s. government is prepared to evacuate americans who are stuck on a quarantined cruise ship off the coast of japan. nearly 300 people on board are infected. the disease is blamed for more than 1,500 deaths worldwide. a person in france being one of the latest victims. more than 67,000 people have been infected with coronavirus. there are 15 cfirmed cases in the u.s. abc news reporter zachary hooesh is following the story. >> reporter: beginning on sunday the united states government is offering to evacuate nearly 400 americans who have been quarantined aboard the "diamond princess" cruise ship off the coast of japan for almost to weeks. the evacuation offer is made to any american not showing any symptoms. they then will be flown back to the united states where they will be quarantined for another two weeks. >> that's very tough because we're business owners and arranging, you know, our house

build a better bay area by finding a place for the homeless to stay after clearing them from the joe redodo trail. sonoma county is helping out. a bit, especially in the north bay mountains and the east bay hills. nowhere near as windy as we were last weekend, but nonetheless that breeze will be the highlight of monday morning. again, the next seven days, look at that. it is a dry pattern. the high pressure off our coastline is not budging any time soon unfortunately. right now we're in the 50s to low 60s. 57 in the city. 61, oakland. 63, santa rosa. 61, san jose and brentwood. warmer than that coming with the current temperature of about 65 degrees. here is the setup. live doppler 7 along with satellite, the story we are tracking and have been tracking for several weeks now, that big ridge of high pressure. you see it right off our coastline, not budging any time soon. there is a storm system to our north. it will bring rain to the pacific northwest, and as that front tries to move through california it will do so without any rainfall unfortunately. it will just kick up our winds early monday morning, so that rainfall potential in the next

24 hours, it will stay north of us around oregon and washington. california remaining dry with this next storm system. so overnight tonight it is a mix of stars and clouds out there, numbers mainly in low to mid 40s. we will see a few 30s on the board like santa rosa, ukiah and lakeport. elsewhere, the next 12 hours are quiet. tomorrow afternoon a bit of a breeze along the coastline, but really it is a calm afternoon. we will see partly cloudy skies, some high clouds streaming in from time to time, and numbers tomorrow a few degrees cooler than today. about 59 in the city tomorrow. 64 in san jose. 67 in santa rosa. 60 in richmond. oakland up to 62 degrees. what we will find early monday morning, a bit of a breeze, especially in the north bay mountains and east bay hills. you can see gusts over 20 miles per hour at times. again, it will not be a widespread wind event like last weekend, and the winds will quickly calm down by monday afternoon. so here is the accuweather seven-day forecast.
