p passengers should you choose not to return to this charter flight, you will not board the united states for some time. those landing at travis air force base will join hundreds of others quarantined from wuhan, china. we asked residents and business owners how they felt when the initial evacuation flight landed in salono county? >> i feel that because we do get a lot of people from travis, that, yeah, i'll probably get nervous seeing our regular come in when i know they work on base. >> reporter: he tested negative for the virus and looking forward to his return to california. >> it's going to be an enormous transition to get through the airports and hope we don't get double quarantined somewhere else. >> reporter: and knows exactly what he wants to do when he and his wife gets home.

holland america says the difficult decision to cancel comes after carefully considering the highly dynamic and unpredictable changes seen in the past couple of weeks. the cruise line said guests will receive refunds and so far this is the only cancellation they anticipate. >> the outbreak has surpassed 1700 deaths today. the current total is 1,170. it has infected more than 69,000 world wide. we know there are 15 confirmed cases in the u.s. and two in the bay area, both in santa clara county. officials with the port of oakland say they're starting to worry about the economic impacts of the coronavirus. despite an increase in imports and exports in the first two months of the year, international travel and shipping has taken a hit. travel restrictions and quarantines have slowed chinese manufacturing and have led some shipping lines to cancel upcoming cargo ships.

>> according to the park rangers, this park was experiencing one of the busiest days of the season. neighbor whose lived around the reserve are aware of the mountain lion population on the hills but were shocked to hear about the attack. >> there are mountain lions that wander around once in a while. it's in the dark and not in the day. >> i know mountain lions will only attack in certain situations. >> reporter: they're now searching for the mountain lion in hopes to prevent a second attack. >> we will mobilize the cat and put it in a large trap and prior to, we will take dna samples to make sure we have the correct cat. >> reporter: cat is believed to be 160 pounds. once located, he'll decide what action to take. >> i know we wouldn't leave the cat here. >> reporter: park rangers investigating the incident.

as to when it will reopen, that remains unknown. in san jose paramedics rushed a 10-year-old girl to the hospital after she crashed a golf cart off an unfinished building. the girl is expected to survive. police tell us two 14-year-old girls entered the unfinished building before one of them drove the cart off the second floor. officers say both girls could face tress passing and vandalism charges. bart police say the person shot is a 17-year-old boy, who is expected to survive. it happened yesterday at about 2:00 p.m. officers were responding to a domestic disturbance call when they saw the suspect, who witnesses said had a gun. the man began running and ended

up on the tracks. the incident is under investigation. police still haven't released the identity of a man suspected of attacking two women on embarcadero. they say this man stabbed a woman walking along the embarcadero yesterday morning. police say he left on a bike and attacked another woman near pier 49 with a tool. no update on either woman's condition. they need your help finding a missing couple. they were last seen at a rental home round noon on friday. deparsky is 77 and stan'7" and 5'2". irwin is described as 6'2" and having a beard. and a small boat washed up on a san francisco beach.

in fact, the longest days we've remained rain free. the record for san francisco for rain-free days stands at 43. that has happened twice in recorded history. back in the height of our last drought in 2014 and 2015. and 1864. coincidentally, february 1864 is the only february month to receive no rainfall at all in san francisco. 50 in vallejo, 42 in palo alto and brentwood, warmer at 55 degrees. winds near the surface, pretty light, if not calm across the entire region. but again, moving up tomorrow, the winds will have increase. the reason why live doppler 7 s along with satellite, showing you a fair amount of cloud cover. unfortunately, it's not going to bring us any rain but it does pick up the winds first thing in the morning.

breaking news out of travis air force base. a plane with american evacuees from a cruise ship off the coast of japan has just landed in the air field. >> the department of state confirms 14 of those passengers have tested positive for the coronavirus. once again live at the base as we speak. lauren. >> reporter: you're looking at live picture. right now the plane is behind air force aircraft. you can see the tail just over the top of those aircraft.

now, the u.s. state department confirmed there are 14 of those evacuees that tested positive with the coronavirus. they released this statement, quote, during the evacuation process, after passengers had disembarked the ship and initiated transport, u.s. officials received notice 14 passengers who had been tested two to three days earlier had tested positive. and that plain landed minutes ago. the state department also said those passengers were moved to a specialized containment area on the plane to isolate them. so there, were two chartered flights. one on its way here to travis air force base that landed minutes ago and another on its way to a military base in san antonio. aside from the ones that did test positive, will be housed

earlier this week the houston astros spent hours huddling up, trying to figure out what to say publicly about their sign stealing scandal. the only way it could have gone worse is if they came out banging the drums. every attempt at an apology seemed rehearsed or awkward. and the team manager contradicted himself and the scandal not going away anytime soon. here's a recap of the apology tour, which oddly started with a pr person trekking through bushes.
