66 and the breezes will push us to near 70 this afternoon. >> thank you, mike. i have been tracking the fog this morning, it's impacting the commute. this is a live look showing you the golden gate bridge. we do have low visibility in the area. things looking much better at the richmond-san rafael bridge, light traffic moving in towards the toll plaza. we have a crash i'm following on the san ma tray teo bridge. this is reported as a crash with minor injuries, westbound 92 at high rise there. speeds are down to 4 miles per hour. tey pick up to 19 miles per hour once you move past that. just be aware. this was initially a two-car crash, now three. it's foggy and the visibility is so low. so take your time. this morning wildlife officials are combing through open space in santa clara county trying to find that mountain lion that pounced on a young girl. >> it happened yesterday morning at the rancho san antonio park

west of cupertino. julian glover has more on the attack. >> good morning to you both. thankfully that 6-year-old girl is okay. just minor injuries, puncture wounds. the reserve is closed and will be closed until further notice. the california department of fish and wildlife are using this pack of four specialized dogs to hunt down this mountain lion, said to be 160 pounds that pounced on this young girl yesterday. the park has been closed since around 10:00 a.m. sunday morning. when the officers confirmed this 6-year-old girl was attacked by that mountain lion, it was said to be busy here yesterday, too. the parking lot practically full. the attack happening a couple miles away from the main lot while the girl was walking uphill with a group of three other kids and six adults. one of the adults saw the attack happening, ran over, punched the mountain lion in the ribs, that was enough to let go of the girl and make it run off. now the girl was treated again

for just minor injuries. dna evidence was collected. officers hoping that dna link will help them capture and match that mountain lion. >> we'll have dna evidence from -- if we are successful, and we may not be. we're talking about a lot of terrain, countryside. so we can't say for sure that we're going to be successful capturing it. >> again, the park will remain closed until further notice. we did see a ranger just go into the park a few moments ago. but that's the only activity we've seen this morning. those officers reminding people while it's rare to spot a mountain lion, they are generally not a threat to people, but they're also reminding everyone that this is their territory. just be aware the next time you're out here in the reserve. reporting live in santa clara county, julian glover. now to the coronavirus, 99

more people on board the diamond princess cruise ship are infected with the virus. that brings the total to 454 people on the ship. officials confirm 14 americans who were evacuated from the ship have tested positive for the virus. they landed back in the u.s. overnight at either travis air force base in fairfield or lackland air force base in san antonio. dr. jennifer ashton talked about why they're being brought back to the united states. >> that's a judgment call about risk versus benefit. risk of staying on that ship versus benefits here in the u.s. where we know how to isolate and contact trace. that is the key to controlling this outbreak. >> 14 passengers were in a specialized containment area on the jet. they will be transported to a appropriate location for continued isolation and care all american passengers who arrived bck in the u.s. will be quarantined for 14 days. >> thank you. passengers on a separate

cruise ship found themselves stranded once again. an alameda who was on a holland american cruise ship in asia says she is stuck in cambodia waiting for test results. her ship, the westerdam was turned away from port after port after concerns over coronavirus. now that cruise line says they're canceling a february 29th cruise on the westerdam. in a statement holland america says the difficult decision to cancel this cruise comes after carefully considering the highly dynamic and unpredictable changes seen in the last couple of weeks. the cruise line says guests will receive refunds. so far this is the only cancellation they anticipate. in the north bay, the search is expanding for this missing couple. they are 77-year-old carol kaparski and 72-year-old ian irwin. marin search and rescue called in more ground workers and k-9

teams this is near inverness and tomales bay state park. they will continue their search at 9:00 this morning. the couple was last seen in a rental home around noon on friday. they were supposed to check out on saturday, that didn't happen. they also missed an appointment on sunday. all of their belongs were found in the home. >> the premise we're operating under ght now is they left their bnb rental, went for a hike, there's a number of trails in the area and didn't come back. >> police have been interviewing friends and family. anyone with information is asked to call the marin sheriffs department. short-term rental hosts could face hefty fines for violating local property rental laws due to a bill that's being introduced today. steve glazer helped to draft the bill, and he did it in response to a deadly shooting in orinda last year. the shooting happened during a halloween house party at an airbnb. glazer's bill would allow cities like orinda to fine short-term rental hosts up to $5,000 for violations. the time is 6:06, your voice

fight back against president trump to protect undocumented immigrants. over the weekend the trump administration said elite border patrol units are deployed to make arrests in u.s. sanctuary cities. the new sheriff said san francisco is very forward thinking in terms of social justice issues, supporting sanctuary cities and the like and ensuring people are equal in terms of how they are treated. this morning a new criminal case in washington state is turning heads. one woman posing as a baby portrait photographer tried to take another woman's infant daughter. detectives say juliet parker reached out to a facebook mom's group and offered free newborn photo sessions. a woman who hired her believe she was drugged. >> she wanted a girl, five weeks

"gma" will have more information at 7:00 a.m. it's not clear if singer elton john will play his upcoming shows in new zealand. he had to cancel one over the weekend because he has pneumonia. in auckland he had to be helped off the stage. the singer revealed he was diagnosed with walking pneumonia and sang until his voice could sing no more. he's on what he is calling his final world tour. he is supposed to play two more shows in new zealand before heading to australia. >> hopefully he gets well soon. >> that will take a while. walking few pneumonia, that's not something you should mess around with. i applaud him for trying. it's his last tour.

that's the speed there as you approach the crash site. 19 miles per hour it picks up once you move past it. if this weren't presidents' day, this would cause a major mess on the san mateo bridge because this backup is just getting worse and worse. be aware of that and also the fog on san mateo bridge. moving up to american canyon, you can see a couple slow spots there. fog in that area. moving along to the coast, highway 1, you will see that fog approaching half moon bay. leaving you with a live look at the bay bridge toll plaza. traffic is very light this morning, metering lights are not on. minor injuries reported. major damage in the area. two lanes are blocked now. this is a live picture from caltrans, a still shot of the accident. here is a map of the crash. you can see the speeds and the backup there. still down to 4 miles per hour as you approach the crash. and then i have our drive times across the bridges pulled up, traveling westbound on the san mateo bridge, it's going to take you 54 minutes -- just updated to 58 minutes to get across the bridge now. it's also foggy out there. take your time. americans who spent the last 12 days quarantined on the diamond princess amid fears of the coronavirus are now at travis air force base. >> it's unclear how many people were on board those planes, but they will be quarantined at

travis air force base for two weeks. they were on board the diamond princess off the coast of japan. they were on board that ship for two weeks. we spoke to someone on board who told us how carefully they were being monitored. >> they issued on the second day a thermometer to everybody. if you exceed 37.5 celsius, you are required to call the emergency number down in the medical department. they'll get somebody up there to check you immediately. >> they had evacuees from china arrive here almost two weeks ago. that's when they gave us this glimpse at their accommodations. the two different groups of american evacuees will not be mingling with each other.

we expect to learn more about the americans who just arrived here when the cdc holds a press conference this morning. also this morning, a new video from san antonio, texas where the second plane carrying evacuees from that cruise ship arrived overnight. anyone two tests positive or shows symptoms will be transferred to an off-base facility regulated by the cdc. japanese officials confirm 99 more people have been infected by the coronavirus on board the diamond princess cruise ship. that brings the total to 454. the outbreak has surpassed 1700 deaths. the number of cases keeps growing. the virus infected more than 71,000 people worldwide. before the planes landed, there were 15 confirmed cases in the u.s. that number has nearly doubled when the 14 additional infected passengers arrived. officials at the port of oakland say they're starting to worry about the economic impact of coronavirus. international travel and shipping has taken a hit.
