56 at 4:00 p.m. dropping down to 65 degrees. in emeryville this is a live look showing you sky 7, that backup we are facing because of a crash involving a big rig and one other car, this is westbond 80 just before powell. that is the initial spot of the crash there. there are injuries involved there. blocking at least two lanes. traffic is getting by on one lane and the backup extends to richmond. injuries have been reported. there is a second crash in the backup around gilman. fire crews are there. it looks like a tow truck is on the way to that scene. look at this backup. such a mess this morning. speeds are down to about 6 and then 2 miles an hour once you get close to the crash. the toll plaza is empty because

of this. fire heavily damaged a home in pleasant hill. you can see heavy smoke and flames. firefighters rushed to the home around 2:45 this morning. the fire captain says everyone inside the home got out okay. firefighters got the fire under control in about 45 minutes. we don't know yet what caused it. the search will resume at 8:00 this morning for this couple missing in the north bay. >> they were last seen in inverness. amy hollyfield is live with more on this. >> reporter: we're at the sheriff's office and were told the couple's family will be flying in to help with the search. sheriff's deputies are saying the search for 77-year-old carol kiparsky and 72-year-old ian

irwin is getting more urgent each day. the couple of visiting in inverness in an airbnb rental house. the couple left their wallets, cell phones and car at the rental house, an indication to them that the couple intended to return. they love to hike so the search focused near the point reyes national sea shore and dense vegetation in the hills. others say they were surprised to hear about the disappearance saying the trails are popular and full of people. >> sometimes 15, 20 miles on foot and we find someone. >> reporter: the couple was reported missing on saturday when they did not check out of their airbnb. 136 search and rescue volunteers

fanned out over the area yesterday and that search will resume pretty soon here 8:00 this morning. reporting live, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. >> the couple lives on the peninsula and rents out three rooms in their palo alto home. the couple has gone camping and hiking in the past but it's unlike them to vanish like this. >> they like camping. they go for like a couple days or so. usually they have always been back on time and email if plans will change or something. >> that tenant said he last heard from them on wednesday. they sent an email with instructions to bring in the paper and turn off the porch lights. and that message ended with happy valentine's day. new details on a high-speed chase and crash in the east bay. the chp says officers detained four boys who were in this car. they arrested the driver. officers spotted the kia driving more than 100 miles an hour on

highway 4 in antioch. the officer tried to pull the car over but the driver didn't stop. the car eventually crashed in bay point. the chp says they tried to make a run after the crash but officers surrounded them. authorities say they are thankful no one was seriously hurt. the number of people affected by the coronavirus aboard the cruise ship has risen to 542. japanese officials confirmed 88 more cases overnight. "gma" spoke with a woman quarantined while her husband remains in tokyo. he's tested positive for the virus. she talked about the experience of flying back to the u.s. >> we were exposed to each other sitting next to each other in our seats. we don't know who was a carrier and who wasn't. we had to just protect ourselves. a live report from nebraska where infected americans are

being monitored. that's at 7:00. san francisco is expecting a record number of cruise ships to arrive this year. 117 calls are scheduled which is up from 85 last year. they are monitoring the coronavirus situation. they do not expect a decrease in passengers because san francisco is a premiere destination for many tourists. new overnight it's official. the democratic debate in las vegas will have a billionaire newcomer, former new york city mayor michael bloomberg. he qualified because of a new poll. it shows him at 19% support nationally. second to only bernie sanders with 31%. bloomberg's addition is not without criticism from other candidates, that he's trying to buy this election without facing off on the debate stage.

rain for friday but there is a slight chance. we are looking at our drought monitor. the north bay in a better situation. moving over to traffic because we have breaking news we want to get to. injuries have been reported. two lanes are blocked but only one lane is open to traffic now. this has caused such a mass. the backup extends well into rich month. richmond. there was a second crash also in the backup. now showing you what you can expect if you're heading this way. my advice is to avoid it altogether if you can.
