it's how we send out breaking news alerts. a patient with coronavirus is being treated and another monitored. both were passengers on the diamond princess cruise ship. some were flown to fairfield yesterday. nine people were identified as needing hospital saying or testing. self rn seven are in solano county hospitals. new virus cases in china fell again to 1749. there were 136 new deaths, putting the toll at more than 2,000. 180 americans who have been quarantined at travis air force released today. buses were sent to take them to nearby airports to catch flights home. officials say there is no health risk from any of those people. some of the americans went to sfo for happy reunions with

their loved ones. liz pena is live with some of those stories. >> reporter: that's right. and today was all about joy here at sfo. we saw several families weeks of quarantine. we met a person from minnesota down to see his family. he didn't recognize him at first but then heard his voice. a hug 25 days in the making. >> as a dad, i was pretty, pretty nervous when i couldn't do anything to help him all those days. >> reporter: now seeing him. >> seeing him is great. i'm happy. >> reporter: he flew from minnesota to greet his son. he is among 180 people who returned from wuhan china and completed their 14-day quarantine at travis air force base. >> reporter: this letter is a letter of freedom? >> yes, it lets me out of the

vulnerable. 92 children have died from flu since fall. there have been about 14,000 flu-relate the deaths. medical professionals are suggesting that maybe a face mask might be appropriate measures to keep people from getting it in close quarters or even at home. it can take two to three days for the flu to run its course. >> now remember, you can find information about the flu and the coronavirus all on our website, abc 7 news.com. rancho san antonio park near cupertino will remain closed after a 6-year-old girl was attacked by a mountain lion over the weekend. there is still no sign of the animal. the girl suffered minor injuries. authorities said the park will reopen after they've made sure it is safe. part of making a better bay area is about solving grid lock around town and getting around a

bit easier. the city of san francisco is taking aim at one of its perennial problems, parking or i should probably say the lack thereof. lauren martinez is live with wt some solutions that will affect everybody but drivers. >> reporter: the board approved a curb management strategy, increasing meter times, adding more parking spaces for motorcycles and much more. drivers i spoke with tonight are a little skeptical of the proposed changes. >> it's horrible. it's really, really, and some places there is no parking. >> reporter: denise was one of the 300,000 people that commute into san francisco and plans her trip around the parking. >> i try to make a list of the places i need to go to? san francisco and i see what the restrictions are then and try to go. >> it's $450 a month.

a big rig had traffic backed up for miles. a helicopter over the scene near the powell street exit in emeryville. at one time travel times were sacramento to san francisco were about four hours, twice as much as usual. a train station was evacuated because of a bomb threat. this disrupted travel for amtrak, cal train and long distance buses as well. the all-clear was given around 8:00 a.m., but of course it caused a ripple effect. happening now, the oakland city council will recognize several people in honor of black history month, among the group is moms for housing. they made headlines in november ntom they illegally dron to housing

hills camera, beautiful evening all around the area. these are our forecast features. mostly sunny and dry the next two days. we may see isolated showers and sprinkles on friday, but it's a slim chance. otherwise, dry and might weather will continue for the week ahead. let's it talk about how dry it is. so far this month, zero measurable rainfall in san francisco and around the bay area. the record is back in 1864 when we also had no rain. so january 16th was the last date on which we had a soaking rainstorm here in the bay area. that means we've gone 33 days now without any significant rain, including these first 18 days so far in february. so we're still waiting on the rain, which may come in a, in a mild dose on friday. overnight as we look at the fog cast animatin, fog, a little bit, will form near the coastline, out over the bay. there will be fog over the

central bali as we as wel as w a overnight lows will be generally in the upper 30s, low to mid-40s around the bay shore line. now tomorrow it will be another mild day, much like today, with sunny skies, high temrain 62 at day, 64 oakland, 65 san mateo. san jose 69. north bay high 68. 65 at napa and in the inland east bay, mid to upper 60s as well. looking ahead, thursday afternoon will bring us a very similar temperature range to what we can expect tomorrow. friday, even clouds increase and there's a possibility of a sprinkle. temperatures will be rising into the low 70s inland. a couple of very mild days coming our way on friday and saturday. here's forecast animation that will give us a hintz of what may happen on friday.

good evening. aubrey huff is entitled to believe and say whatever he wants, and the giants are just as entitled to say we just don't want you around here. huff will not be invited to the 2010 championship reunion this summer. huff says he thinks he's being penalized because he is pro-trump. the giants say it's because of his tweets demeaning and racist to women. he tried to display his sense of humor and views on 95.7 the game. most of this sounds like the early cave man book of life. >> here's my deal. i don't believe a woman should be in men's pro sports. absolutely not. there are so many more people, especially men who are grinding it out who deserve that spot more than she does. but i also don't believe men belong in women's sports or sports in general, women are
