upper 60s around the bay. mid-60s and at the coast only the upper 50s because of the on shore flow. a clear night tonight if you're heading out and then get ready for a big warm up next week. i'll let you know in basic cue s s -- accuweather seven-day forecast. the cool has cancelled classes indefinitely according to local and state officials there's several sites that could be the source. students and teachers don't know when they can go back. classes may resume next week. the school year could be extended to make up for the missed days. the search continues for a missing couple in marin county. they disappeared while on a hiking trip one week ago. the sheriffs say it's now a search and recovery mission. they believe the couple would

have been found by now if they were in an area accessible by foot. deputies thought they had a lead when canine cadaver uni uni pointed them to the beach. the california highway patrol is looking for the driver responsible for killing a good samaritan in a hit and run. we're learning about the man who lost his life trying to help. this happened knot north of thed avenue exit. you can see here on the map. abc 7 news reporter spoke to the victim's family. >> reporter: family members say he was making his way home from work. his partner and the couple's 6-year-old son were waiting. >> he never answered. i waited. i kind of fell asleep for a little bit and woking up thinking he was in there.

>> reporter: he wouldn't make it home. at 1:54 a.m., the driver of this black car crashed into the median. two other southbound drivers hit the car. a fourth driver, agular stopped to help. >> he was always like that. he liked to help people. >> he put on his hazards. stopped and got out of his vehicle trying to assist the other people that were broken down on the road. >> reporter: he was killed by a hit and run driverer. those living off the exit know about 101 traffic problems. for nearly 70 years, resident has heard collisions ring through the neighborhood. >> you can hear the screeching and the crash. several times i came out of my house to see who got hurt. >> reporter: this time, a good samaritan. now his family is begging for the driver responsible to come forward. >> he took a life.

vegetation fire. officials want to remind every one with the dry conditions in february. >> with the lack of rain we have been having and the dry summer season, sochl still dry. >> reporter: it's been a dry month and fire officials say no structures were threatened and no one was injured. sky 7 spotted a gray whale swimming in the bay yesterday afternoon. take a look at this. it was spotted in the raccoon strait. the marine mammal center says they have been following the gray whale for two days. they say it's a little skinny but they are not too concerned. typically march is the peak season for gray whiles migrating north. the weather really has been different so you wonder how that might impact some of these animals. the fact it's been so warm. >> it's been so warm and dry. we haven't had any measurable rain in san francisco this month. looks like it will stay that way

pilot was cooperative. the cause of the crash still under investigation and a preliminary report says there's no signs the helicopter's engines failed appearing to operate at the time of impact. bryant's tragic death has shaken the nba and the city of l.a. with millions around the world paying tribute. at monday's memorial service the laker star is expected to draw 20,000 mourners to downtown los angeles. according to authority, there will be no procession before the vent and security will be tight. >> we wish to see that this monday as the next chapter, if you will, of our continued process of grieving and coming to terms with this such unkpped tragic event that it be done in manner that is respectful of the wishes of family and of all those that have been so deeply moved by this series of events. >> reporter: i'm kenneth moten, abc news, new york. 49ers legend is stopping by union scare.

in livermore. this is where we are still seeing the cloudier conditions and we're tracking the chance of a sprinkle. mainly in the south bay and also around monterey bay but it is looking very less likely at this point. breezy and cooler this weekend. we get the sea breeze kicking in. dropping temperatures along the coast. that's where you'll notice the difference the most. then get ready for much warmer weather next week as high pressure continues to build. let me show you the forecast animation. 10:00 we start to see clearer conditions and then the system slides swa slides towards the southeast and bringing rain towards southern california and the scattered showers for arizona. they have had to reschedule some of the games. for us you'll notice temperatures take a tumble along the coast and san francisco the high was 71. today we're only expecting high of 59. half-moon bay 59 as well.

partly cloudy conditions along the peninsula coast. everywhere else will get lots of sunshine but it's a bit cooler. santa rosa at 69. oakland still mild at 62. san jose, 68 degrees and some of our warmest spots will hit near 70 today like fairfield. overnight we'll start to see the clouds move in again from the northwest. we have that typical sea breeze pattern. that will bring us some cloudy conditions. temperatures in the 40s in the north bay with clearer skies. we'll see low 40s. we'll see mid-40s around the bay. san jose, 44 degrees. tomorrow a bit cooler in some spots. mid-50s along the coast and some mid-60s and low 60s around the bay. monday is when things turn around. the warming trend gets warmer on tuesday. we'll see some 80s in fairfield and check out the accuweather seven-day forecast. we have a cooler weekend this weekend. it could be slightly cooler tomorrow but then things shift
