when the fire broke out around 11:00 last night. the explosion happened in a cooling tor. interstate 405 is near the refinery, at one point it was closed in both directions. it has since reopened.a mother recovering after an assault inside their home. >> three suspects burst into a house on mission boulevard yesterday afternoon and opened fire. one gunshot grazed a mother and caused her to drop her 2-week-old baby. sky 7 was over the scene. you can see the heavy police response. the father tells abc7 news that the suspects were after him. it was a result of a private dispute. the dad says the wife and baby are doing fine. san francisco police are making for another public employee for witnesses in a racially charged attack to come forward. video of this confrontation stunned elected leaders and community members. it shows an asian man being

they say the san leandro station will be made more secure by june, but until then fare evaders are getting by. there is no emergency at san leandro station this day but the emergency exits are swinging wide open as customer after customer after customer leaves without paying. nearly one year ago abc7 news brought the issue to b.a.r.t.'s attention. this is what it looked like then. spokesperson said would be hardened by end of the fiscal year, june 2020. changing infrastructure. we showed him what it looks like now. >> it's frustrating for me to watch it, for anyone who abides by the rules. >> reporter: why has it not changed? >> we've started the station hardening. it's harder to push open the barriers of the fare gates. additional work is raise the barriers to five feet and have the swing gates locked unless opened by official or in

emergency. that's going to be done by june. >> reporter: said will also alarm the emergency exits. other stations have the alarms. not san leandro. why in a year couldn't it be done? that's a whole year of lost revenue. >> the crew that does it has other responsibilities, they're pulled away for emergency work, like if a pipe that bursts, they need to address that. but it is on the priority list. the way we prioritize stations is by ridership. >> reporter: san leandro has 7,000 people entering daily. 7,000 people daily. montgomery street in b.a.r.t. says work will take weeks. in the meantime station agents are left shaking their heads. b.a.r.t. doesn't want employees getting into confrontation with fare evaders.

we'll have a better chance of records. 75 in concord. 77 in santa rosa. we have our best chance of records at the airport sites. low to mid 70s around the bay. upper 60s in richmond, san francisco and half moon bay. 68 and 69 there. tonight, like it has been the last couple of nights. mainly clear out there, temperatures from the low 40s to upper 40s. let's look at our chance of wet weather. saturday, increasing clouds with that onshore breeze. look at the sierra. some snow developing saturday evening. the chances of snow are looking better for saturday and sunday. our chances of wet weather are looking less and less except for that one blip in the south bay. look at the rainfall potential, saturday into sunday, if you get anything, maybe a hundredth of an inch. talked about this. i wasn't convinced it would rain sunday. temperatures well above average through friday.
