here is liz argen. >> good morning. we're starting our month dry as we look at cloud cover here. not a lot of fog to but we could see a little patchy fog throughout the morning hours. 47 in san jose, mountain view, 43, sebastopol 39. we're looking at 10 degrees cooler from oakland, hayward has been breezy as we look at upper elevation winds. mount diablo 32 miles an hour. we will have that wind advisory for the north and east bay hills go into effect first and the rest of the bay area from the peninsula on south. the winds are going to kick up tonight. here is a look at the cloud cover throughout the day. 1:00 we're in the 50s. the clouds will begin to part and we'll see partly sunny conditions throughout the afternoon. yeah, notice we're not talking any rain. we'll talk statistics on our dry february. we do have some raindrops to talk about in the seven-day outlook coming up. that's exciting. julian. >> thank you, lisa.

want to get you to the latest on the spread of the coronavirus in the bay area this morning. now a fourth confirmed case in santa clara county. officials saying this patient is an adult woman who lives with the person who is the third confirmed case. she's not hospitalized or ill we're told. other major headlines. seattle man is the first confirmed death in the u.s. this made news saturday in washington sta state. president trump confirming it where he updated cases to nearly 70. meantime a student at uc davis quarantined tested negative for the virus. worldwide there are 87,000 cases so far. one of the big developments surrounding the virus is the number of people now scrambling to get disinfect anants and sto up on food. there's raised concern as health officials warn the number of coronavirus cases could jump in the comes days. as lauren martinez reports south bay residents are taking this warning seriously. >> everyone is stocking up on

presidential candidate senator bernie sanders will be in san jose for rally ahead of super tuesday. his campaign said sanders has seen an outpouring of support in califorly among young and latino voters. the rally starts at 1:30 this afternoon at the san jose convention center. doors open at 11:30. it is free and open to the public of the south carolina primary is in the books this morning. it was joe biden's contest to lose but he held strong there. the former vice president took a decisive victory winning by nearly 30 points. it will give his campaign a crucial boost heading into super tuesday. it's his first ever win as a presidential candidate. senator sanders came in a far second. despite third san francisco billionaire tom steyer dropped out of the race last night. steyer spent nearly $24 million on tv astds ds in south crolina alone. he said there's no question his campaign is disappointed with were he stood. >> honestly, i can't see a path

some developing news out of san francisco. a four-alarm fire in the district, a towing house and residential unit. look at the flames here. you can see them. the smoke shooting in the air last night near evans avenue. the main warehouse collapsed. two people who lived in the upstairs unit, they no longer have a place to live. the owner of the restaurant did escape the flames. fire officials say the high

winds cannot help on the flight. >> we have high wires down on multiple avenues and vehicles adjacent to this hot, burning warehouse fire that are potentially going to catch on fire. >> tough situation for those crews to get under control but they did contain the flames nearly three hours after the fire started. no one was hurt thankfully. the cause of the fire is under investigation. we sent this breaking news notification on abc 7 news app within moments of the fire first breaking out. if you want an alert like this in the future, the app is free to download and customizable. all you have to do is go to the apps store. a san mateo man in jail accused of driving into a group of teenagers on purpose. police arrested 18-year-old adibi of san mateo yesterday. they say he drove into a sidewalk in burlington and hit four teens before speeding away. witnesses actually followed him and police were able to catch him eventually. two of the victims had major

her a new appreciation and happiness for life. understandably so. this the chilling cell phone video that has really money up onli -- blown up over the last week or so. an elderly man harassed after picking up cans. after a week, a gofundme account set up to the help the man. community youth center is behind it. they said the money raised will help the man with rent and bills. one suspect has been arrested in the incident and police are currently looking for a second at this time. some new developments this morning with the striking graduate students at uc santa cruz. 54 have been fired for refusing to turn in undergraduate student grades. the graduate students walked out seeking higher wages. the strikes started in september with 200 teaching assistants deciding not to turn in grades $1400 a month saying they need the bump to offset the cost of

that would be a 43-day stretch. i don't think we're going to do that. there is some signs that the pattern is going to change. we are looking at overall, of course, not only the driest february tying that record. but you know, last year we had over 7, almost 8" of rain for february. the average is 4.46. look what a banner year it was in 1998. do you remember that, just on the heels of el nino, over 14" of rain. yes, it certainly has varied and does vary over the years. not a great one. changes into next week. it looks like as we get to the march 11th area, the next few weeks, that could be a bigger system. things are looking more promising. we are looking at rainfall tat's moving into parts of southern california and the central coast. not much, though. just talking a couple hund elevations.ayre is a lk breeze

today partly cloudy, cool, wind advisory, 10:00 east bay hills. san francisco, peninsula later this afternoon about 4:00. that will take us through monday morning. it's going to get quite gusty tonight. dry and mild weather returning to start next week. in fact, we'll be in the 70s by tomorrow afternoon. as we look at our wind profile, 10:00, can you see they are offshore out of the northeast. we continue to see them ramp up throughout the evening hours. 5:00, that's when things will be getting quite breezy to gusty around here. winds up to about 30 miles an hour in napa. you can see oakland 25 miles an hour. look how dark the colors get. straight out of the north here through the overnight hours. we're going to still keep that wind advisory going until 9:00 monday. as a result with no rain in
