suddenly got real interesting for tomorrow. what are your conclusions? >> that sort of underscores the importance of the bay area in state and particularly in democratic politics. the reasons are twofold. one, there are a lot of democrats between monterey and sacramento. it's called the big vote belt. the second one is that we turn out in higher numbers than los angeles. so, one, we have numbers here in terms of politics, whether it's democrats and republicans, and bay area voters tend to turn out more, whether it's democrats or republicans. so that's why the bay area carries this clout, and i think that's why you see the candidates here. >> and liz was talking about how many people have already voted, so what about those people who are watching and say, i already voted and my candidate dropped out. what now? >> what now, you get to watch what happens. it's one of those things if you voted but you didn't turn your ballot in, you can say, i want a new one. the second one is, if your candidate doesn't make 50% or

more on the statewide run or democratic votes, they didn't make it there, either. if you look at the latest polls, there are a couple who can qualify for you. bernie sanders, joe biden, bloomberg, elizabeth warren are all in that. they're going to need the undecided voters and they'll also need people who aren't in the democratic party, because they allow people who aren't a democratic affiliation to come in and vote. the question is who is going to come in and do that? >> pa couple weeks ago we were talking about joe biden. he looked dead in the water. he's still going with a new momentum. the question is with amy klobuchar and tom steyer and nd pete buttigieg, who has the best chance to win?
6:21 pm
>> bernie sanders and his big think is going to do that. >> but can he get the moderate voters? >> that's the big question. joe biden with get the moderates and the young voters, but can he get the people who don't normally vote, or will it be seen as business as usual. it is a crossroads for the democratic party, and it's right here in california and a couple other states, and we'll see it play out tomorrow. >> you'll be here with us, right, watching us break it down? >> i'll be here from the start. >> you can read phil mctier's columns every wednesday and sunday. watch for live results. it will be a fascinating day. we'll post results on abc7news.com, and we'll post additional results at 9:00 p.m. spencer has vo: in life, there are talkers and there are doers. mike bloomberg has spent his
