schools will close on monday. other districts announced closures including west contra costa unified and all diocese in san jose and tamalpais union and woodside. we are keeping track of new closures and constantly updating te list on our website. you can find it at abc7news.com/coronavirus. 224 confirmed cases of coronavirus in california. that includes 140 here in the bay area. santa clara county has the most with 66 cases. napa county announced a health emergency, but there are no confirmed cases in that county. we're learning new details about three tsa agents at san jose mineta international they were working at terminal b checkpoint b during the evening ship. they checked bags and operated the x-ray and monitored the body scanner. each of them had a different last day of work and those days

ranged from february 21st and march 2nd. the sharks revealed a part-time employee tested positive. shark officials say the employee is under self-quarantine and they are recovering apparently feeling better. >> the, shas are heading back to san jose after the nhl decision to pause games indefinitely. the league still hopes to crown a champion at some point. since the stanley cup was first awarded in 1893, there have only been two total cancellations. one was in 1919 because of the flu epidemic. major league baseball has delayed opening day at least two weeks for now. all 30 teams were scheduled to play on opening day, which was march 26th. major league baseball has not had a mass postponement of openers since 1995 following the strike in '94 that canceled the world series. baseball has a 162-game

schedule. so, there's a chance they could play part of the season. minor league baseball is also on hold. the "grand princess" passengers have disembarked, a few hundred on board along with 1,100 crew members. many of the passengers have began 14-day quarantine periods at military bases. you could imagine they're pretty frustrated. >> part of the routine is that we don't know much. can't find out when we will be tested or if we will be tested. there seems to be a lot of conflicting information about that. >> governor newsom says california is reaching out to several nations to help the ship's crew members return to their home country. california now has the power to take over hotels and motels to isolate patients. so part of an executive order from governor gavin newsom. it allows the state to use hotels and medical facilities to serve as treatment centers. some patients have already moved

to hotels, according to the governor. a 120-room hotel in san carlos is now housing people who were previously quarantined on the grand princess cruise ship. house democrats are expected to pass a bill today to fight the crippling effects of coronavirus on the table right now. paid sick leave and other financial assistance for struggling families. andrew dymburt has more from washington. >> good morning. a bill could be passed as soon as today which could focus on providing relief for families and those most affected by the coronavirus outbreak. meanwhile here in washington two very different accounts on actual access to coronavirus testing for americans. lawmakers on capitol hill preparing proposals on the pandemic. after late-night discussions house speaker nancy pelosi says a deal is close to being done. some relief packages being discussed include paid sick leave, food assistance and free covid-19 testing. there is still confusion

here's a look at the best policy starting at 5:00 tomorrow morning through 5:00 sunday for thunderstorms. you can see it's mainly marin, sonoma and up into lake and parts of or parts of lake and l men dese mendesino counties. sunday into monday, it spreads to the east and to the south starting to take over parts of san francisco, contra costa and alameda county. so, some small hail is possible and brief, intense rain is possible. for tomorrow we're looking at anywhere from a quarter inch of rain in the north bay to nearly an inch around the bay and then we keep adding on another quarter to half inch sunday. >> thanks, mike. no reported cases of coronavirus in sonoma county. the health department went to

four sites to test up to 80 people with flu-like symptoms, some are healthy and others do have underlying medical conditions. they are using data from the testing to get an idea of the potential spread of coronavirus. >> over the course of the next three days, we expect that we'll have at least 20 persons tested at each site for covid, which will double the amount of testing that is done so far and giving us more data to see what's going on in our county. >> there's no sign of community spread in the county, but officials say it may just be a matter of time. coronavirus fears in the turmoil it's causing in the global markets are driving gas prices down. gas is less than $3 a gallon at this station. this is the gas & shop. nearby arco gas is also less than $3. one driver had a glove on his hand when he was fillin up. aaa says the national average price for a gallon of gas is down 6 cents since monday. the agency says fewer people are

driving because they are working from home. that ripple effect, mike. >> a positive effect there. okay. let's take a look at what's going on monday. future radar we'll start at midnight and then head throughout the day and you can see a wave of wet weather roll through, taper a little bit as we head into the evening hours and then another wave is going to come in tuesday morning, but notice it's more heavier, i should say, in the central valley and up in the sierra. but it's still by the evening hours just about over. let's take a look at what will happen monday and tuesday. we already saw how much rain we're going to get this weekend. the next two days after that. another half inch is possible to two-thirds of an inch. this entire time it is snowing in the sierra. if you want to get up there, you have to go today. it's more likely the roads will be closed starting sunday and possibly monday and tuesday with those feet of snow in the blowing and drifting snow that is going to happen. now, if you get caught under one
