cases and 22,000 flu-related deaths. the good news, you guys, for the coronavirus, it's estimated that 51% of people have currently recovered. so it's important not just to look at deaths, but those who are recovering. >> before we get to the viewers' questions, can you break down and sort of explain to us this idea of quarantine? what's actual -- what's the difference between isolation quarantine and self-quarantine? >> a couple of really important points, you guys. quarantine are for people exposed or observed for symptoms. isolation is for confirmed and ill. i-i, it's important to remember when or if someone quarantines while they're being observed or while they're being tested, you should act as if you are in in fact infected. that's the point. it's not you quarantine and you have family dinners. it's not you quarantine and you invite friends over into your house and you just don't go out. so, it's difficult. and you're talking about a 14-day observation period. but it is really important that we start acting not just for your protection and the protection for those around us. >> that is so key. that sole key. >> yeah.

eliminate flying to continental europe for the next 30 days, potentially longer. airline workers already seeing their paychecks suffer. sarah nelson is a flight attendant and ahead of their union. >> flight attendants are going to start to see a hit in their paychecks right away because we just don't have the access to the hours that we used to to be able to have the income that we had three months ago. >> reporter: already norwegian air temporarily laying off up to half of its employees. and this morning, something we've never seen before, several cruise lines suspending operations. overnight, royal caribbean and norwegian joining disney cruise lines, princess and viking. cruises, in suspending operations. the voluntary suspensions ranging from three weeks to two months. those still running get a slew of cancellations, natalie madea cancelled her family trip on a carnival cruise. >> we were looking forward to this vacation. it was for real, it was devastating for us when we cancelled the trip. >> reporter: carnival telling us

where i am, what i'm doing. whatever is going to be is going to be. i don't have control over it. >> okay, guys. we know there's a lot of scientific information that suggests that meditation is really good for lots of things including anxiety. but we also know that a lot of people aren't going to meditate. so i'm going to teach you two super quick practical tips to break things that we all have to do, meditation. number one, we're all supposed to wash our hands. we're supposed to do it 20 seconds. how would you like to spend those 20 seconds obsessing about getting the coronavirus or doing it to meditate. the first time i heard this technique, i was skeptical, it's a little cheesy, but there are ancient phrases that you can repeat in your head. and there's scientific evidence that suggests that these phrases have a lot of benefit on the brain and body. you can repeat while you're washing your hands. may we all be happy. may we all be safe. awi if you do that twice, maybe three times that will get you to

>> get itto thh-h.>> wgot to ca what it is. we start with a vanilla wafer crust. we add sugar and butter. the reason we add sugar and butter, once it bakes, it crystallizes and will hold that pie together in a nice sturdy shell. what we do, take melted butter and add bananas to the pan. >> why do we caramelize the bananas? >> well, the reason why we caramelize the banana is two reasons, texture, flavor. when they oxidize, they get a little brown. more visually appealing as well. >> getting chemistry as well this morning. >> that's what i say. >> and we have to fill this. >> when we caramelize the bananas, we're going to add brown sugar we're going to add vanilla extract and then we're going to add a little cinnamon. this is like a hybrid of banana foster, banana pudding, all good stuff. we give it a mix. a nice caramelized color in this
