the bay area is taking the lead nationally. by closing all non-essential businesses. >> grocery stores and pharmacies and banks and gas stations will be open. >> the main message is there is plenty of food. there is supplies. >> state officials advise against panic buying. saying california food distribution centers are ready for disaster. to help prepare the state, california lawmakers today approve a measure to release $1 billion to fight the coronavirus. bart is an essential service. >> bart will run regular service during the shelter in place order. other agencies will also be running. >> that shelter in place at midnight. >> my fellow san franciscoen, what we are asking for everyone to do is to remain at home. for all but the most essential outings for your safety and the

9:00 this evening. to try to catch up with restocking some of the shelves. you can see the lights are on. shoppers are not inside. we have seen a number of cars come through the parking lot. those shoppers learn this store was closed. >> shoppers wearing mask and gloves working as fast as they can to get food and get it in the car and get home. >> online it says they had toilet paper. in stock. and so i went in and no, they don't. >> many shoppers dealt with the same problem. empty shelves. coolers and freezers and crates at the costco and the target. >> gone. no chicken. no eggs. no orange juice. >> she at her third store of the night. hoping for eggs and milk before the order goes into effect. her second stop was a bust.

>> since i was not sick. she stayed in isolation in her room and i stayed away. i only went in to take her food. very strange. we couldn't even watch tv together. i did self-isolation as well. but had to go outside to walk the dog. testing on monday was at a drive through tent in the parking lot. only patients with a an appointment for testing. >> they don't let you get out of the car. you stick your head out and give you a tissue. and blow your nose. and then come to you with a swab. it's sharper. not a cotton swab and put it in the back of your throat. collect something. and the other end stick it up your those. to be honest. you have to do it.
