sglf restaurants can stay open to offer take out and delivery only. you can't eat at the restaurant. and child care centers can stay open if they practice social distancing. officials are hoping residents will take this seriously and will comply. they plan to have this in place until 11:59 p.m. on april 7th. reporting live in fairfield, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. several headlines involving the coronavirus pan ddemic. jobina. >> london breed will provide general updates on the city's response and in the south bay a sixth person has died of the virus in santa clara county. the county now has 175 cases up 20 from tuesday and san mateo county reports 18 cases. and eight new cases were reported in san francisco which now has 51 confirmed infections.

napa is still the only county with no reported cases in the bay area. caltrans has learned that an employee at its oakland office tested positive for covid-19 and limited medical offices. the cdc suggests live streaming funerals to reduce crowds during the coronavirus pandemic. california's dmv canceled all behind the wheel tests for the next 30 days. officers remain open, though. jpmorgan chase is temporarily closing some branches in the bay area and across the nation. kumasi, back to you. the abc 7 news i-team has confirmed three residents have tested positive for the coronavirus and they have been tranceferred to the hospital. it's investigating how the coronavirus virus infected residents at atria burlinggame. the i-team spoke with a woman

whose parents are residents there. >> they are freaking out because they can't see their loved one anhe physically at all. we don't know when we will. >> another family of an atria resident provided e-mails that the facility sent out. the residents who have coronavirus went to the hospital this past thursday, friday and sunday. the other residents are restricted to their apartments and meals are being delivered to them. headquarters in washington, d.c., sent an e-mail saying three more residents from the burlingame facility are awaiting test results. the health and well being of atria residents and employees is our first priority. you can read their statement on our website. for a congress to pass a $1 trillion economic package. it would help companies and americans affected by the coronavirus pandemic. all of this comes as two members of congress have now tested positive for covid-19.

here's abc news reporter alex. >> reporter: of the thousands of patients two are now members of congress the attending physician saying other members who made contact with the two are low risk. this comes as the senate passed a relief bill wednesday now lawmakers moving into phase three finding ways to quickly put money in the hands of americans. >> i view it as, in a sense a war-time president. >> reporter: the president is pushing congress to approve a massive trillion dollar plus economic recovery package include $500 billion in direct payments to americans and two rounds of checks sent out on april 6th and may 18th. $300 billion for small businesses and a $50 billion bailout for the hard-hit airline industry, but any deal would have to be worked out with democrats and now the president is prepared to invoke the offense production act a korean-war era law to produce

if you're fostering one of those dogs you can get out there and walk them. some of our perfect pet partners are monitoring 10 to 15 to get them out of the shelter because they don't have the workers to be able to take care of them there. talk about what's going on around san francisco. mid to upper 40s under a mostly cloudy skies and american canyon little bit cooler at 37 degrees. and let's take a look at some of that fog and you can see it's thickest up in the north bay and some in the tri-valley and the wind some of the fog may drift out of the north bay and south. we'll keep an eye on the richmond san rafael bridge and the golden gate bridge and the bay bridge as we head through the morning commute. and right now heading to the bay bridge, we'll use that as the back drop to our commute planner. you can see how quiet it is. your commute rather quiet with random showers possible after the fog this morning, which is also patchy. so, the south bay. we're in the 40s through 9:00. we'll have partly sunny

mm hearmers market is only open on wednesdays, but there are several others across the city. still, social distancing requirements still apply. animal shelters considered essential services under the shelter in place orders for most bay area counties, but some of them are really trying to find temporary foster home for pets so staff and volunteers don't have to come into work. here's abc news anchor eric thomas. >> reporter: on the back patio of sherry's home, a dozen older dogs visit and frolic. >> they're all seniors. so, they're all over 7. >> reporter: normally they and over 70 other dogs would be housed at her muttville shelter but not during the coronavirus outbreak. >> all 80 plus dogs are all in foster homes right now because we don't want to have to bring people into work. >> reporter: although shelters are considered essential services, franklin says why take the chance of exposing workers, volunteers or clients to the

virus. however, for people who are feeling a bit lonely sheltering in their homes, adoption is still an option. >> we're setting up one-on-one appointments. >> reporter: so dedicated for getting these dogs into adoptive homes right now that during this current emergency period, they're waiving their fees. across the bay in alameda, a family is getting their shepard archie acquaint would ace, a dog they plan to foster. >> two weeks or longer. whatever works. we all have to do our part. >> reporter: ace was dropped off at the alameda animal shelter because he was too rambunctious for his current owner. they found foster homes for 50 dogs, cats and rabbits and are still looking for homes for 15 more. >> we're trying to minimize the number of people that have to be lfts vt erleasst red member wit ying h issues. in alameda, eric thomas,

spot and the rest of us around 58 to 62 degrees. for tonight, we're looking at mid-30s to mid-40s. a lot like this morning with patchy fog out there. this curl in the atmosphere that is going to take a round about way and come our way sunday. that's our next storm. today is just the sunshine that will irritate the atmosphere given enough energy to watch the showers billow up over our higher elevations on either side of the south pay and just kind of drift in place through the afternoon hours. we lose the sunlight and we lose the showers. wake up tomorrow morning and you can see by tomorrow afternoon maybe a stray shower in the santa cruz mountains and down around mt. hamilton, the same areas today. even a less likely chance than today. now one or two of those may drift out of the higher elevations and you can see places on the peninsula could get 0.01 to 0.05. my accuweather and first full day of spring and milder

while i was on a combat patrol my c in baqubah, iraq,nned out. a rocket-propelled grenade took my arm off at the shoulder. when i came home, i felt alone. my family was around me, but i couldn't talk to them about what i'd seen and what i'd done. i remember just thinking, man, the way i am right now, i don't want to live. i was discharged from the army, and i've been working with the wounded warrior project since 2007. warriors don't have to be severely wounded to be with the wounded warrior project. we do have a lot of guys that have

post-traumatic stress disorder. being able to share your story, i guess it kind of helps you wrap your mind around what did happen over there. just because you've left the military doesn't mean your life is over, because when these guys are coming home, i'm kind of leading and training them, instead of for combat, i'm leading and training them to heal. and if i come away with anything from the wounded warrior project, it's them giving my life back. my name is norbie, and yes, i do suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, but i'm okay. this morning, dave stewart is awaiting results after being
