died. that's the first known victim in the united states that was a minor. india's prime minister ordered a three-week lockdown to save the country from the pandemic. there are close to 500 cases in india, but there are fears it is going to just explode because of the enormous population in close proximity in which people live in india. hospitals are gearing up to test if a century old treatment used to fight off prevaccine epidemics might work for covid-19. reports say hospitals are seeking government permission for formal studies to test antibody rich plasma in the sick. they also want to test if the infusions could offer temporary vaccine-like protection to people at high risk. doctors in china used the treatment to stop thsp there. well, no a palo alto uple both -- covid-19. david louie is live with a story

you'll see only on abc7 news. david? >> well, dan, we're talking about the drug remedesavir. both monica and adrian arima tested positive for covid-19. her ordeal and experience gave hope that the drug might help so many others. >> we started to feel sick on the way home, on the very last day of the trip. >> that was three weeks ago. adrian and monica took a dream trip to egypt, developing fevers and feeling unwell as they returned home to palo alto. they were both admitted to stanford hospital where their symptoms didn't improve. tests confirmed they had been infected by the covid-19 virus. monica had underlying medical conditions including asthma and diabetes. she developed pneumonia and a persistent cough. with no improvement in her condition, she was accepted into a trial to test remedesavir by
