them. a big announcement today from governor newsom provided clarity on the state's overall clarity for reopening, although still no specific timeline. abc7 news anchor liz kreutz joins us live with the details. we heard a lot today, liz. >> ama, we really did. we've all been so anxious to get any details we can on the timeline for reopening. and today we did get some. some good, some maybe not so good. what is clear is this is going to be a very gradual process to lifting the stay-at-home order with the next phase hopefully come manage the next few weeks. exactly two weeks since governor newsom first announced the six indicators for reopening, today a bit of positive news when it comes to businesses, schools and child care facilities. >> we believe we are weeks, not months away from making meaningful modifications to that indicator and in this space. week, not months. >> how many weeks he didn't say. but it's the first major step in potentially easing the state's shelter-in-place order, even if just partially.

building and getting deep. and it's windy out there. we have wind speeds right now up to almost 25 miles per hour in san francisco. and 15 to 20 across the remainder of the bay area. the 24-hour temperature change is sort of a mixed bag right now. earlier in the day it was so much warmer at virtually all inland locations yesterday. but right now that marine layer is cooling locations down that were earlier much warmer than yesterday. here is a look at that marine layer from emeryville. and here is a look at current temperature readings. it is 60 degrees in san francisco. oakland 66. mid- to upper 70s. 80 at gilroy and 5 at half moon bay. let's take a look at some reading. napa 74. mid-80s at fairfield and concord. temperatures coming down into the upper 70s in livermore right now. these are our forecast features. we'll see a cooling marine layer expanding overnight across the bay and locally gusty and much cooler conditions will prevail through the weekend. and there is a possibility of

some sprinkles on sunday. here is a look at what's happening in the atmosphere that's giving us our current weather pattern. high pressure ridge, hey had brought us today's sunny and warm weather is sliding southward now. and that's being pushed away and not escorted, but pushed away by advancing low-pressure system to our north with its trailing cold front. that's contributing to a cooler onshore flow that is now building that marine layer and giving us a generally cooler weather pattern over the next several days. here is the result of that building marine layer. watch the forecast animation overnight, if i can get it to move here. you'll notice not only low clouds and fog pushing up to the coastline and beyond, but high clouds will be moving through the bay area as well. so tomorrow, even as the low clouds and fog retreat just a bit during this midday hours to the coast, we'll continue to see high clouds passing through the area giving us sort of filtered sunshine going into the afternoon and a much cooler pattern than we had today. overnight lows will be generally

in the mid- to upper 50s. so it's going to be pretty mild overnight. although at the coast it will be a bit cool were lows in the mid-40s. tomorrow's highs will reach only into the upper 50s on the coast. upper 60s to low 70s around the bay shoreline. and inland upper 90s today, we'll see only mid- to upper 70s generally tomorrow. on thursday, there may be a bump up in temperatures, maybe by about two degrees. not much. and then the cooling will resume on friday and continue into saturday and into the weekend. so here is the accuweather seven-day forecast. cooler by quite a few degrees tomorrow. and then over the weekend there will be further cooling with an increase in clouds. possibly sprinkles on sunday. certainly gusty wind. and monday and tuesday we'll see another warm wave beginning to build, bringing temperatures back up to and perhaps even above average for this time of the year. dan and ama? >> all right. i guess we'll take the sprinkleo

hard by the pandemic, with multiple facilities seeing outbreaks. for the first time on record, a family dog has been infected with coronavirus. heather mclane, her husband and son have all recovered from covid-19. the family in north carolina joined a new study by duke during which researchers found winston, the family's pug contracted the virus. duke health says this is the first case of coronavirus in a dog here in the u.s. the family says winston's symptoms were mild, and he was only sick for a few days. the centers for disease control and prevention says the risk of animals spreading covid-19 to people is low. today is the final day of the coronavirus community testing in san francisco's mission district. this census tracked based outreach, and testing is the only kind anywhere in the entire country. abc7 news reporter luz pena has been covering the advancement of this story and has the very latest. >> san francisco. over one thousand covid-19 cases. deaths, 23. the mission district, the neighborhood with the highest

quest diagnostics has launched the first antibody test for covid-19 that you can order online. beginning today, people across the u.s. can order the test without needing a doctor's permission. the test costs $119. while it's not clear if you can

be immune to coronavirus, abc7 news contributor dr. alok patel says antibodies are a sign that there is some level of protection against future infections. >> the antibody test different than the viral genetic test would be able to tell who has been exposed to coronavirus in the past. so you get infected, you get kofi, you have symptoms or not, your immune system should build up these proteins over time. and that's what this test is looking for. >> dr. patel warns that not all the antibody tests that are being create ready actually accurate. the fda has only approved a handful of ests out of hundreds. covid-19 is creating a serious risk to a small but very vulnerable segment of our population talking about transplantations. they are given immune suppressing drugs, as you know, to prevent organ rejection. a bay area company has come up with an innovative system to monitor them without them having to leave their homes. david louie has the story new at 6:00.

[ closing bell ] >> there were early gains, but stocks closed lower on wall street this afternoon, snapping a two-day winning streak. the du fell 32 points. the nasdaq lost 122 points. and the s&p was down by 15. the five largest stocks, apple, microsoft, amazon, alphabet, and facebook were down for the the second day in a row. well, it is tough all over, and across the country, businesses are weighing their options. after some states lifted restrictions, many are assessing if they could reopen safely. alex presha has the perspective from some business owners. >> from georgia to tennessee to colorado, states have begun lifting lockdowns.

some businesses responding. >> the governor has aloud it here in georgia. we're looking to his leadership as an indication when it's appropriate for us to open. >> others still hesitant. suzanne owns buttermilk kitchen in atlanta. she says she was forced to furlough half her staff, but even with the go ahead to reopen from the governor -- >> we don't feel safe, you know. number one is safety. >> a new round of government funding would help small businesses like suzanne's. $310 million for the paycheck protection program. but the online loan application process has been full of technical issues, and those that missed out on the first rund of funding are back, desperate for some aid. treasury secretary steve mnuchin says those website problems will be resolved today. as for big businesses scooping up the loans, he said this on cnbc. >> it's the borrowers who have criminal liability. we're going do a full audit of every loan over $2 million.

bay area weather felt like it reached a bit of a boiling point as well. >> it sure did. will this continue? spencer christian is here with the forecast. spencer? >> well said. it did indeed feel like it was reaching a boiling point, especially in the inland areas. that has changed dramatically as the marine layer isg and deepening atbeyond thenow. and it's windy out there and cooler, much cooler pattern is on the way. overnight look for low clouds and fog not only at the coast, but locally inland. in addition to some high clouds. and our strong and sometimes gusty onshore flow. overnight low temperatures, though, will not be very cool, mainly in the mid-50s, except along the coast, cool with upper 40s. tomorrow we'll see high clouds, moving by throughout the day. filtered sunshine with low clouds sort of hanging on near the coastline. it will be breezy once again. highs ranging from upper 50s at the coast to upper 60s around the bay to upper 70s inland. on thursday, there might be a little increase in temperature by a couple of degrees.
