>> the police chief bruff melanie the. one o e county. the department has 45 days to release the body camera from the responding officer. the chief says he plans on doing it more quickly than that. those officers are currently out on paid administrative leave as this investigation continues. reporting live this morning, i'm julian glover, abc7 news. a peaceful crowd gathered near oakland city hall last night. s sky7 was above the rally to protest george floyd and the curfew in effect for at least one more night. thousands of people were at 14th and broadway where there were fit a few speakers and many talked about how the narrative does not change going forward. >> because we're out here speaking our own opinion about

what's going on and it's not right. but the problem is that we have to do this in order for them to realize we're not playing any more. >> i think that people are waking up. i think people are understanding more and more how unjust this system of policing we have now. but i'm not here for reform. i'm here for abolishing the police. >> now many businesses have boarded up out of fear that there could be more looting. a large police presence that included officers from other cities we saw there stayed on the outskirts of the rally, but nobody reported any problems. well, san francisco police chief bill scott says 20 to 25 people were arrested in the mission district at 20th and mission. sky7 was overhead when they were being detained. chief scott said the group dumped trash and acting belingerant and he believed the group intended to light fires. the chief did not want to take away from peaceful protests that happened earlier in the day at

mission high school where thousands of people gathered. kate larsen has that story. >> no justice! peace. >> reporter: thousands of people pured into the mission protest in march who was killed by minneapolis police last week. >> for too long these murderers want to kill innocent black men and they don't get charged for us. >> they will kill our children and our children's children. >> reporter: along with free food and water, many people including this group of nurses handed out masks and hand sanitizer. >> everyone has a mask on and everyone has been very peaceful and calm. >> this is a protest, but i don't blame any of the protesters for that real deep frustration and anger. it's not just pain of one person. george floyd is only one person that we're out standing in part

as all four officers inuvl vavon his death face charges. >> thank you, kumasi. that memorial service is set for 11:00 a.m. our time and this morning demonstrators are hailing the new development that you just referenced including the four police officers being charged. the latest here are that all four officers involved in george floyd's killing have been arrested and charged. prosecutors have upgraded the charges against former officer derek chauvin. he was seen with his knee on floyd's neck now facing a second degree murder charge along with third degree murder and manslaughter. the other three officers who were at the scene are charged with aiding and abetting. they're being held on $1 million bail, all four officers. floyd's friend and a former golden state warrior steven jackson voices what many demonstrators have pin saying for a week. >> make an example of these other four weeks so the other cops won't think about doing it

again. >> even after the arrest, tens of thousands of people took to the streets yesterday for peaceful protests in new york, denver and san diego. efny demonstrators laid on thehd oorx on floyd's neck. kumasi? >> all right, thank you, jobina. as we mentioned before that funeral in houston, there will be a family memorial for george floyd this morning in minneapolis. abc news will have live coverage. that service is set to start at 11:00 a.m. our time. the reverend al sharpton will deliver the eulogy. because of the memorial that we're covering "midday live" will be on an hour earlier than usual and we will be joined by san jose mayor sam liccardo. happening right now, curfew orders are about to expire in san francisco, san jose, santa

rosa and san mateo county. the order covering unincorporated parts of napa county expires, too. that includes american canyon. the curfew in solano county also ends at 5:00, but the city of vallejo issued its own order that runs indefinitely. tear gas at many protests both here and around the country but now calls for police to stop using the gas as a crowd control measure, especially during a pandemic. in oakland, three city council members delivered a letter to the police chief and mayor urging them to halt the use of tear gas during the covid-19 pandemic. some doctors are expressed concerns to a harm to a community that is trying to fight off coronavirus. >> using tear gas now in the middle of a respiratory epidemic. the protesters their eyes will be watering and they will be

county helped battle the flames but some animaled unfortunately died when it reached the wildlife center. they cut open cages to free others. >> looks like some of the foxes and coyotes were able to escape. we're still actively trying to get a count now on animals. >> the fire also damaged seven homes. no people were hurt. firefighters face really dangerous conditions. one, because the hot temperatures and then also because of the strong winds and, mike, is that something we're going to see more of? >> especially in that area, kumasi. all that area to the west and the delta, there is a reason there is wind farm there is because that is where the fastest winds blow for the most duration for the entire year. when you see the winds pick up there and into fairfield like i'm showing you right here with live doppler 7, you know the sea breeze is coming back and some relief. a catch 22. the winds will increase the next

avoiding police twice until the car was located near a parking garage along east mission street. >> the suspect did not follow the officer's commands and placed the vehicle in reverse and drove backward towards the officer. the officer fired at least onces at the suspect. >> both achoa and the victim were transported to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. now charged with felony hit and run and assault with a deadly weapon on an officer. more california counties have filed paperwork with the state to lift more restrictions that have been put into place to stop the spread of coronavirus and they include monterey and santa cruz counties. that means only seven counties have yet to move to request deeper into phase two reopening. six of them are in the bay area. drone view7 flew over and the pain l opened back up and it was closed for months to deter visitors and every space was taken up. for information and resources about coronavirus, just go to

clouds at the coast is where we'll see the least amount of sunshine. the heat will ease for most of us. now, cooler tonight with increasing clouds. some of our better sleeping weather on the way. breezy with no heat this weekend. temperatures below average. it's not going to feel like summer. more like, maybe a little bit more like fall. the south bay 87 at sunnyvale and about 97 in gilroy and no record high in santa cruz today 79. the rest of us in the mid to upper 80s. you can see the mid up toer 60s along the coast and mid to upper 70s in downtown, south san fran and sausalito. upper 80s through mid 90s and upper 70s look at that in richmond and berkeley and everybody else in the 80s in the east bay shore and low 100s in the east bay valley. you can see the increasing clouds during the evening ath b head overnight and some of that starts to spill into the bay
