a man swimming in very rough surf in san francisco died this evening. life guards battled high tides to rescue the 31 year-old. he died in the hospital.

in alameda new cases have increased over the past three weeks. and hospitalizations have increased over the past two weeks. 27 new cases on wednesday. that's the second high etc. single day rise in two weeks. just five new cases wednesday. health officials there are saying there's been a rapid increase of covid-19 cases in low income communities. in san mateo just 17 cases wednesday. the lowest single day rise since may 17. but the lowest number of tests in two weeks were taken on that day. they're finding that the little things are going a long way. social distancing. hand washing and. >> if i have to pick one simple thing. wear a mask. that's what i see the least of. will we have a second wave or a ripple.
