low to mid 50s this morning and look at this, we're 49 right now and you can see a little bit of fog and we have 50s everywhere until you get to pittsburgh 60 and 62. here's what's going on, its just the breezes that are going to be an issue. especially in the beaches where it will be the fastest. enjoy. the temperatures look at this in the south bay run up to the mid 70s and then the sea breeze kicks in and we drop down to 62 by 8:00. remember we're in the 100s yesterday, mid 70s, a few upper 70s possible with mostly sunny conditions and breezy conditions also. our warmest weather in the north bay and we'll briefly get near 80 for a couple of hours early in the amp and then the sea breezes kick in and drop us down to 66 degrees by 8:00. enjoy the refreshing change. let's switch gears and talk about the morning commute. >> hi, mike, thank you so much.

after his comments about taking a knee during the national anthem. he said he would never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the united states and that sparked a backlash from black players around the league. >> we will not be silenced. >> we assert our right to peacefully protest. >> dozens of black players have come together to produce this powerful video. the players are demanding that the nfl come out with a stronger statement against systemic racism. they want the league to admit it was wrong. brees apologized for his comment and now wants to do more to help. police are trying to track down a cyclist who they say that he assaulted a group including a young child posting flyers in support of george floyd. the incident was caught on camera. do not touch her.

two police officers pushing a 75-year-old man to the ground. the action the city has taken since this happened. crews are fighting to get control of a series of wildfires deliberately set in san hoe sand and at least one person has been detained. plus breaking economic news that we're covering this morning. america's unemployment rate is dropping and markets opening right now and we're seeing a huge jump right now about 700 points and we are tracking those developments. good morning, everybody. we made it to friday. it is june 10th. >> it is. the economic news is really surprising so we'll get to that in just a second so we start with mike and his friday forecast. hey, mike. >> hi, reggie. hopefully you're having a great

friday morning. we're going to take a look at live doppler 7. first the fog that's increasing across the usual spot. and along the peninsula coast. but also look at these breezes. 32 in fairfield, up to 34 last hour. gusts up to 30 miles per hour in concord. that stiff sea breeze is bringing the free air conditioning back and the cloud cover this morning that will retreat back to the coast and keeping you at 59 in half moon bay and 63 in san francisco. look at the upper 60s to low 70s around the bay and the warmest temperature 80 in fairfield and. >> thank you. developing news where crews are battling a six fires and they appear to appe appear to be set

good morning. relatively quite this morning off of colleen drive but the colleen fire is still active at last check. 90 acres and only 20% contain you can see behind me cal fire and also san jose fire department. they are still out here this morning trying to knock this one down. we are giving you a vantage point of some of the charred remains of this steep hill right here. this is the stuff that these firefighters have been dealing with. one getting up and again this very steep terrain. now this morning people that live in the santa rosa foothills are back in their homes. they're actually forced to evacuate when the fast moving fires move dangerously close to property last night. evacuation orders were lifted shortly after 9:00 last night. i want to show you video here. showing you the response from firefighrsg dnes dropping fire and crews on the a total of six separate fires

investigating two officers after video appears to show them pushing a man in his 70s down on the ground and before we show this, i do want to warn our viewers that it may be uncomfortable to see so just letting you know. here we go. this is the video. you can see the officers come right up to the and he is appearing to hit his head on the ground. the officers take a look at him and keep on last night the man tripped and fell despite the video showing he was shoved. the two officers are suspended without pay. all of this hours after a memorial for george floyd in minneapolis. >> it's time for us to stand up and say get your knee off our

necks. >> this morning we're also learning two of the former police officers charged in floyd's death have turned on the officer that knelt on floyd's neck for more than 8 minutes. the defense attorneys tried shouldn't do this and asking him to roll floyd over. both of them are rookies and it all happened about a week on the job. less than a week actually. and he was a 19 year veteran. >> thank you. minneapolis city council members planning to vote on the first policing changes in the wake of george floyd's death. elected officials have been working to set new guidelines. they're expected to reveal them later today. they're also hoping to set a time line into whether the minneapolis police department engaged in racial discrimination over the past decade.decade.

>> the peaceful protests continue around the bay area. hundreds of people demonstrated their solidarity with nationwide rallies over the killing of george floyd. in liver more about 200 people gathered peacefully in karen gee park and south san francisco several dozen people rallied. they held a rally in their neighborhood. so this is video of those students and you can hear all the drivers honking in support, students chanted george floyd's name and they called on other young people to do more to fight racism and injustice. >> a lot of support from our generation can step up to the plate and make it better

hopefully. >> students wanted to rally close to home so people in their neighborhood could hear their message directly. >> san jose's police chief is defending his police department's response to some of the measures they use when violence broke out in protests over the death of george floyd. he says there were agitators that were present in otherwise peaceful protests that began a week ago today. police have come under fire for using tear gas and rubber foam baton rounds during the protests. yesterday chief eddie garcia provided a snippet of what officers face on the front lines. >> bottles of urine thrown at officers. they're threatening or attempting to strike them before fleeing and multiple officers were struck on their person, helmet, face shield with various objects. >> local organizations say the actions by some oicers ptesere inappropriate. they say there should be

accountability for the officers involved. he is encouraging the community to report instances of wrong doing: he says all complaints will be investigated. >> most have been lifted but in a few cities they remain in effect. the city will lift it's curfew and actually did lift it's curfew this morning they are still requiring people to stay inside from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. we're keeping a running list of local curfews on our website. >> looting in the east bay left a lot of small business owners with a big and costly mess to clean up. how one woman is out bringing the community together to help. >> we're taking a live look at the new york stock exchange this morning where investigators are reacting to that surprise unemployment this morning. you can see we're up 730 points. we'll have all the details

about an hour ago the u.s. labor department released a jobs report that really no economist saw coming. the unemployment rate for may dropped to 13.3%. it was expected to go up to 19%. that's a significant change and that's down from 14.7% in april. 2.5 million jobs were added in the country last month. now as a sign that the country is reopening and this is a vast improvement over april's report that saw more than 20 million jobs lost. now is wall street reacting? you're about to see. we are now currently up 758 points. >> well, at abc 7 we are committed to helping to build a better bay area by focussing on four key areas iomy. recent i ampt t economy. stores owned by large corporations damaged because of looting, this he the ability to

bounce back quickly from this but the same unfortunately cannot be said for many small businesses. she has the story about a woman in oakland that is stepping in to help. >> yes, i was really excited to stumble upon this situation. so many oaklanders love this city and are part of the reason why is because we have such amazing thriving black owned businesses here and those are dwindling in other parts of the bay area. unfortunately, a few or more than a few actually of those businesses were damaged during the protests in oakland but with the help of their community and one woman in particular they are getting help to get back on their feet and then some. theionwe protest against police brutality and racial injustice following the death of george floyd touched down in oakland a few days ago and isn't letting up. >> as an oaklander, protesting

>> i went for a walk on a really shady path. and it wasn't too bad. today is going to be nicer. go for a jog because the temperatures will be in the 70s and 80s instead of the 100s. 62 right now and you can see the marine layer there, dramatic drop in the highs as we talked about even with a mainly sunny sky this afternoon. more clouds tonight. and a chance of rain and showers. and you can see that on the move coming down from the gulf of alaska. and look at inducing the marine layer and clouds around the central bay and shooting across the golden gate bridge as we head through the lunch hour and as we head into the evening, look at the wind. and 35 degrees cooler than 7:00 last night.

and 77 in the south bay. 66 and redwood city at 72. upper 50s along the coast. 63 in downtown san francisco. 74 in san rafael and 82 in santa rosa and cloverdale and the east bay valleys, wow, look at that. 74 in san ramone and a warm 82 in brentwood. a lot better than the hundreds yesterday. look at tonight, 40s out there. a lot of us in the low to mid 50s and you see the green around the south bay. that's where we have our best chance of wet weather during the morning hours and then we'll have a chance of scattered showers across the north bay in the afternoon. for the most part it's going to be dry i would say for most of us. a couple of hundredths of an inch of rain if you do get wet weather and it's going to remain quite breezy. sunday below average. the breeze is back up monday. temperatures back to average and a little bit warmer than average for tuesday and wednesday next week. i hope you have a great weekend. back to you guys. >> thank you, this morning we're learning more about the case
