group of police officers have arrived on motorcycles and in vans. they appear to be in the process of moving those protesters, and as you might imagine, this caused a big back-up. this is video posted on twitter by a driver whotu tunnel, just about a half-hour ago. we saw a tow truck arrive to the scene. we also saw an ambulance arrive and we have confirmation that someone out there had an asthma attack. we are working to get new updates. when we do get the updates, we'll bring them to you here on abc7 news. hello and thank you for joining us. >> j.r., real quickly, we do want to take a look at our abc7 news traffic map. you can see a lot of green certainly but then on the bay bridge, the upper deck, significant red back-up as indicated right here. we know that the back-up spans just about six miles or so going all the way back to treasure

justice. marchersigns. the organizer said he wanted to do it because it is not something this neighborhood typically sees. >> there usually isn't much visibility. representation for musicians as part of the state, and really wanted to bring it here and make it visible for the neighbors to see. >> most of the protesters used masks and used social distancing as they made their way to the water front. buddhists in support of black lives matter movement meditated in front of san francisco's city hall this morning. this has become a weekly protest called sit, walk, listen. organizers want to promote empathy and caring across a th y hall next sunday.hers.

as we speak where there has been a black lives matter protest. officers, they are trying to reopen lanes and as you can see, that far left lane of the westbound span. it does appear to be open with some vehicles just crawling right on through. to recap what happened, this all started just about two hours ago where a group of protesters, they started blocking all the westbound lanes. you can see there, that large police presence on the scene. we know that chp officers and san francisco police, they are working to remove protesters. you hear the beeps from the horns on this social media video. we'll stay on top of this throughout the evening. once again, the traffic is backed up about six miles back past emeryville. lots more tonight at 11:00. the sheriff's deputy injured in what investigators say was an ambush attack in santa cruz county last week, has gone home from the hospital. we have that emotional video.
