didn't give a mask. i got angry, because the airlines owe it to us to prove that it's a safe place and safe time to fly. i was floored. >> reporter: on monday, united airlines said starting june 18th, any passenger who does not comply when boarding a united flight will be placed on an internal travel revick shun list. friday, a woman tweeted a photo showing two flight attendants not wearing a mask on a flight from dallas to phoenix. united said flight attendants and customers are required to wear masks. alaska, american, jetblue, southwest, and united airlines all announced enforcement of face covering. each will determine appropriate consequences for noncomplying passengers, including suspension of flying privileges on that airline. the new policy elicited mixed reaction from passengers at sfo. >> there's a lot of different reasons people don't want to wear it. first amendment rights and

then put it back to hang for like a day. >> reporter: on monday, westfield valley fair reopened to shoppers. some felt the election wasn't kid friendly. >> got twweeks. >> reporter: however, the option to browse, shop, hit and have a meal are activities people have gone without for months. >> that was an experience that we create, that was kind of our once a weekend way to get out. >> reporter: while some couldn't wait to be back, others shared concerns. at one point, the county was the hardest hit in california. public health official are also keeping their eyes on the rise in cases, especially monitoring what happens three weeks after lifting restrictions. >> right now, we're in the middle of that incubation period. we're about halfway through, and we are looking at the numbers, we're watching what's happening, and what we're seeing is what you would expect when you open up as much as we have. >> reporter: a slight uptick, something to keep in mind as we

see more changes to rules. in san jose, amanda del castillo, "abc7 news." the number of covid-19 cases in california has stabilize. but the virus remains a real threat. today, governor newsom said the number of infected people in the hospital has remained stable over a two-week period. only 4.5% of those tested are positive. still, governor newsom warns that as a state reopens, we will see an increase in cases. more than 8 million people worldwide have been confirmed to have the coronavirus. according to johns hopkins university. more than 3.8 million have recovered. that's why health experts are issuing warnings, saying the coronavirus pandemic is far from over. as abc news reports, with states reopening, some are seeing an increase in cases. as the country attempts to get back to so-called normal life, health experts are warning people to be very cautious. at least 21 states and puerto

rico are seeing a rising number of covid-19 cases, influidi clud florida. >> we are seeing an uptick in the ages 18-35, and particularly after memorial day weekend. >> reporter: miami beaches opened just days ago, and now officials there have delayed the next phase of reopening. the state has seen a steady climb for nearly two weeks, hitting its highest single day of reported cases over the weekend. during the same time, texas also saw a record number of hospitalizations. restaurants opened to 75% capacity in houston last week. now officials are considering another stay in place order after someor tested positive for the virus. utah and oregon are hitting pause on their plans to reopen. but other states are moving forward. hard-hit new jersey now allowing non-essential retail and outdoor dining. >> i've been a loyal customer here.

i don't think we've had seating like this before. we have the quarantine, but here's an opportunity. >> reporter: the fda has revoked emergency authorization for two malaria drugs. hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine, saying they're unlikely to be effective in treating the virus, and could cause serious side effects. president trump has for months touted the drugs. he says he's also taken hydroxychloroquine himself. >> i took it and i felt good about taking it. i don't know if it had an impact, but it didn't hurt me. i feel good. >> reporter: the fda also saying the drugs reduce the effectiveness of the drug remdesivir when given together. the drugs ask no longer be distributed to states to he wille battle covid-19. however, doctors can prescribe them because they are approved for treatment of other health conditions. new at 11:00, pg&e is expected to plead guilty tomorrow to 84 felony counts of involuntary manslaughter for its

role in the campfire. the utility reached a plea agreement that included a $3.5 million fine. november of 2018 wildfire devastated the up to of paradise and was the deadliest and most destructive in state history. a wildfire has scorched 400 acres. pthe south bound direction but reopened at about 8:30 p.m. this afternoon, residents were told to be prepared to evacuate, but that was canceled tonight. the fire is 10% contained. for a look at the fire danger in the bay area, sandhya patel will have much more coming up later in the news cast. today, the supreme court handed down a land mark ruling to protect lbgtq people at work. the court ruled a key provision of the civil rights act of 1964 protects gay, lesbian and transgender people from workplace discrimination.

conservative justice neil gorsuch wrote the opinion, which passed with a 6-3 majority. in the east bay, a cookie maker was scoed the organizers of a farmer's market for passing out pride flags at his booth. tonight, he wants an apology. j.r. stone has this story from livermore. >> reporter: these are the tense moments of the farmer's market where vendor dan floyd was recently told to stop passing out pride flags. >> i will suspend you right now. >> reporter: gale hayden, who heads the california farmer's market association is the one in that video. floyd says he was selling cookies at his stand just as he had for the past four years. only this time he was also passing out free pride flags. >> you don't come yelling at each other. you explain if there's a disagreement. >> reporter: there is a free speech area where passing out flags would have been allowed, but not in the food zone.

tonight, the nypd is investigating whether officers were intentionally poisoned at a shake shaft. they ordered food and milkshakes and started feeling ill. they were taken to the hospital in stable condition. the new york police union tweeted that the officers were intentionally poisoned, adding that a toxic substance believed to be bleach was placed in their

beverages. shake shack responded, tweeting they were horrified by the reports. on the peninsula, the sheriff's office released this video of a woman killed last month during a confrontation with deputies. they say this is sandra harman carrying a shotgun. the sheriff's office when a deputy found her, she started shooting. she dropped the shotgun but then appeared to reach for it again. emotionally and psychologically terrorized a massachusetts couple who were critical of ebay. san joseam of ebay directed o to set up fake email accounts to harass the couple, as well as sending disturbing deliveries. >> fly larvae and live spiders, a box of live cockroaches, a sympathy wreath on the occasion of the death of a loved one, a book of advice on how to survive the death of a spouse, pornography mailed to their neighbors but in the couple's names, a halloween mask featuring the face of a bloody pig, and a pig fetus, which was ordered but after inquiry by the supplier was never sent. >> reporter: one of the alleged co-conspirators was brian gilbert. >> a former police captain with santa clara. >> reporter: according to the complaint, they flew from california to massachusetts to
