matter movement. >> i feel like in light of everything going on, i wanted to take time to appreciate life instead of, you know, just death. >> there was lots of good food, free haircuts, and family pictures by the lake. >> nice event for the climate which we are in right now, a chance for everybody to get out and mingle or whatnot, celebrate fathers. >> this one to right center. >> this year taking dad to an a's game, giants game, or grabbing tickets to watch the dubs isn't possible due to the pandemic, so planting an inflatable sofa is a solid plan b for this family. >> especially with the pandemic, we're flying by the seat of our getting cofor the fathers today.hi coffee truck. he's bummed he can't spend the day with his kids but feels lucky he's working. >> we appreciate the little things, even if it's working on father's day, you know?

reparations n "words reparations now" along mcdonald avenue. reparations would compensate the african-american community for slavery and centuries of racism. part of that includes changing how local governments spend taxpayer money why is it ultimately we're talking about budgets being moral documents and understanding that we're where we the city puts its money talks about what the city cares about, where the city's priorities are. we do not need more police on our streets. we need more funding in our schools. >> one of the people leading today's effort says the reparations message covers a street where the kkk held parades years ago. a call to defund police urging city leaders to disbd e . dozens marched in fort mason this afternoon. one leader claims they want the mayor to go beyond promising to reform police. >> our objective is to disband

the police department and rebuild something that actually protects and serves the citizens, all the citizens of the city and county of san francisco. we're going to make that happen by any means history. >> approximated of the san francisco police officers association lashed out at the calls to disband the police department made this statement. the death of george floyd has fueled a movement that has led to the toppling of statues that are viewed by some as symbols of racism and oppression. san francisco was swept into the discussion over the past few days, first the city removed a statue of christopher clubhouse from coit tower and junipero serra in golden gate park. they topped a statue of

cervantes. >> part of this is about trying to reflect our understanding today of who makes history. so i think the public's basis isn't fully reflective of the work we've been doing over the past 60 years. >> many southern states have been removing statues associated with the confederacy. "san francisco chronicle" insider and abc7 news contributor phil matier reports san francisco is already getting suggestions on replacements for the christopher columbus. the list includes everyone from nancy pelosi and ju acceptpy ger you can read his columns in the "san francisco chronicle" every wednesday and sunday. it's a big weekend for sonoma county. on friday it entered another step of reopening.

reopening and the economy are things we're focused on as part of our efforts to build a better bay area amid the pandemic. hotels, short-term rentals and zoos are permitted to reopen including johnson's beach on the russian river in guerneville and safari west east of santa rosa. the animal refuge is honoring tours with health and safety measures in place. >> we modified our trucks, put vinyl in between each seat. you have social distancing, markings on the ground which happens to be cheetah paws. >> restaurants have been open offering indoor and outdoor dining. sonoma county businesses say they brought back many fourfold workers who've been out of a job for months. this year's solano stroll in albany and berkeley has been canceled because of the pandemic. the solano merchants association made the announcement today. the annual event draws a quarter million people to take in a lively neighborhood festival. alameda county and berkeley public health departments weighed in on the decision to

including two secret service agents testing positive for the virus. in addition to taking on rival joe biden and the george floyd protests, the president also addressed the increasing number of covid zblasz when you do testing to that extent, you're going to find more people, you're going to find more cases. so i said to my people, slough sloe the testing down, please. they test and they test. we got tests that people don't know what's going on. >> adviser peter navarro claims it was a joke. >> president trump said last night at the rally that he had actually asked for testing to be slowed down. >> that was tongue and cheek. what else you got? that was clearly tongue in cheek. >> this as cases surge across the nation, many states among the first to reopen. in florida, nearly 3,500 new cases reported today. arizona, which president trump plans to visit this week, also seeing a rising trend. new york city prepares to enter phase two on monday, restaurants setting up to offer outdoor seating to patrons.

demanding justice organized a skateboarding protest this afternoon calling out racial injustice. skaters paid a visit first to city hall where there was an open mic event. participants called for solidarity to stand against the hate. then the group made their way to the skate park in central park for another gathering. we had a lot of time on our hands, but an american canyon high schooler put a lot of effort into winning the people's choice award at the annual international rube goldberg competition. that, by the way, is 16-year-old chanel roses rube goldberg machine, this crazy contraption she made beat out 30 people in a dozen countries. the end result of that action, to deliver a bar of soap in her hand for hand washing. >> what a great way to wash your hands. tomorrow apple kicks off one

has been pushed. all major league baseball training facilities are closed as coronavirus cases rise in both florida and arizona. mlb's latest proposal for a 60-game season to finish by the end of september with expand playoffs. the players countered with a 70-game season but major league baseball will not go any higher than 60. with a surge of covid-19 cases in florida, there's definite concern about the nba bubble restart in orlando. espn reports the players association held a virtual town hall to address concerns about the spike in florida. now, earlier this month the nba announced plans for a 22-team restart starting july 30th with the nba finals ending in mid-october. but we wait for that as well. the father's day nascar race at talladega has been profound due to bad weather. there was lightning and rain that made it unsafe to race, of course. the track that's famously known for at least one big
